  1. Enter Vuckic, exit Ben Arfa... Enriques move to Liverpool will be sealed by a handshak by then, so he will sit in the sidelines in a red shirt.
  2. Meh, true but Woodgate and Dyer deals were much better, all three go part way to making up for Michael Owen and Alan Smith. Surprised we didnt get more for N'Zobia, he did have the tantrum, hard to hand tag on him though at the time.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

He will be alreet in a couple of months or six.

    Mevlüt Erdinç

Can't really see what all the fuss is about, Edinc`s agent doesnt have to come to Newcastle if he doesnt want. We can sign all the paperwork and fax stuff. Just would have been nice being Erdinc agent and all that he comes with him to Newcastle. Maybe he doesnt like the Ferry or Flying?
  5. Ba`s knee actually just exploded in the middle of the pitch too.
  6. Unsurprising. The self fulfilling prophecy of a new Keiron Dyer strikes again. Fuck me, why are we sooo shit for injuries.

    Mevlüt Erdinç

Could be wrong but I think the words he used were "insatiable mancrush."
  8. Awkward flight.. Cabaye probably nervously hanging out with Barton talking his ear off. Routledge, Ranger and Perch talking transfers in the three seats behind then Xisco sat by himself in the very back of the plane. On a side note, how the hell is Cabaye going to understand what the hell Beardsley is saying?

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Is Ben Arfa doing the Steve Austin pose? And why is simmo trying to grab his balls, not like 99% of people on here wouldnt given the chance.
  10. If he stays, he's pretty much 3rd-4th choice here by default, I'm sure he'd rather take one more season here even if he only gets 10 games max, before dropping back down a league when he's a free agent. He is definitely happy here and where he is, sure he would prefer to be starting but I think he knows at his age and with who is around him he will only ever be bench or emergency material. I am happy to have him there at the moment too. Think Nut called it, but I am sure he will also be happy sticking around where he is settled, think we will push him out next summer.
  11. Orlando shitty vs shitty Newcastle?
  12. Happy to send him out, as others in his age group. Donaldson seems lucky to be given another chance but Pardew seems to see something in him. Makes perfect sense to send Tavernier, Ameobi, Donaldson, Ranger and Richardson out on loan and possibly Vuckic if we feel covered for the first team. As mentioned earlier 3-6month loans are perfect especially if we can recall them if needed. Like Kazenga, either they comes back and manages to break through or we make a handsome profit on them.
  13. IMScouting has him capable of playing further forward in the middle but primary position as DM. That said they also have Vuckic down as a striker.
  14. Shane Long just bought a villa in spain.
  15. 1000 page thread, Facebook page, Website, online petition and flowers laid at the Darlington Arena.
  16. Think we are very much still in for Erdinc, he is playing hard to get and waiting to see who PSG bring in. Pardew tried forcing his hand with recent comments imo. Think Erding is the guy Pardew is talking about us having a bid in for. Other three we are obviously not that keen on either due to the fee or wages, then maybe suitability.
  17. Like Toon Dale say's I can't see why anyone would have a problem with "the way the money has being spent." I think we are spending money a hell of a lot better than Liverpool, although my confidence might be shattered in time or justified by how Cabaye and Marveaux settle. Granted we need to bring in more players, the club has never said anything to the contrary. If we had signed Gervinho, Gameiro, Matuidi and Taylor would people be happier? I would hope so although I'm sure the doom mongers would dismiss each deal due to Gameiro's least favourite color being green or some madness. The reality is all of those players have turned us down and we have to adjust targets. We have time to make sure we get value for money, we don't need to jump the gun on anything just yet if we are going to get a much better deal in the weeks to come. I can understand impatience and the impulse to knee jerk but too many fans want to spend for spending sake. People are quick to forget we have done the best early business we have done in years. I still believe we are after another striker and attacking mid, then after that we will pick up any deals if they are right for the club, that could be no-one or it could be someone like Stephen Ireland. Deals always arise nearer the end of the window. Ideally we want our main striker signing in as soon as possible, but we are good to go for Arsenal with what we have imo.
  18. a versatile player who can compete for LW, CAM and RW would seem to make sense. we have 4 first team players for those 3 positions currently, one has an uncertain future here, one hasn't played since november and another who hasn't played since october. so we should be looking at someone else - i don't see any reason why it couldn't be N'Zogbia as he really does fit the bill and we have the resources, so it is a disappointment we've given up on him. he would've gone a big way towards replacing the end product Nolan had too. I agree, but I think that is what we got with Marveaux. He can cover all of those positions, leaving Guti (who can play either side) Ferguson (LW), Barton (RW), Ben Arfa (LW/AM) and Gosling (RW/AM). I suppose we have to include Raylor as well. Also depends who else in the reserves steps up e.g. Vuckic, Abeid, Richardson etc. I still think we would have taken N'Zog at the right price but the odds weren't in our favor given his list of admirers eager to splash whatever cash it takes. We aren't like that anymore which is frustrating at times but that's the way the club works, hopefully we see benefit to that in the future.
  19. A lot depends on our focus on the youngsters. It has been the clubs remit to bring through and create stars since Ashley took over, now we are seeing a crop come through. On the word of the club's focus you could assume these players will assume a lot of the squad places. This season and the next will be the litmus test to the clubs plans. I think more than ever we do actually have a potentially exciting bunch of youngsters coming up. Time well tell if its money well spent or wasted. Many people want us to go out and spend money but many of the same people have been critical of our academy and failure to produce our own stars in the past. With the money and time that has been invested it is coming to a point where we need to start relying on the Academy and reserves to step up and make the grade. The club needs to spend wisely to keep experienced and quality older players at the club but still intersperse the club with younglings that can hopefully make the grade.
  20. Who cares what he said? He talks nothing but s**** every time he opens his mouth. Well do yourself a favor and go back into hibernation until the season starts instead of turning into an overly emotional teenager with their knickers in a twist. If you don't like or believe anything that comes out don't read it. It is the same every year regardless of who, what or when we bring people in over the summer. People should really know the score with the summer and that it is nothing but speculation, frustration and smoke and mirrors, then the odd glimmer of hope if a signing is made before the vultures descend to dissect the deal to find any ounce of fault in the deal. I honestly think some people want their summer to be ruined and talk themselves into a state that does so.
  21. Probably would have done the same in his position like.
  22. Pardew said and reiterated two offensive players i thought? Back to N'Zogbia, the club could have come out and clarified that we werent after him sooner, but maybe it was being used as a smokescreen to the clubs favor. I don't really think we needed to clarify that we werent after him any sooner, no-one at the club actually confirmed that we were.
  23. Not surprised, people (myself included) should have twigged sooner that Marveaux coming in would have ended any interest in N'Zog. They practically occupy the same role in the team. I think we were ready to jump and get N'Zogbia back before Marveaux's U-Turn though. Does make me wonder what kind of offensive player we are looking at in addition to striker though. I had assumed RW, but in light of this maybe we are looking at an central attacking mid.
