His £140,000 a week wage might be a problem. We couldn't even pay anywhere near 50%. Thought the same a while back, would be a fantastic acquisition. But as pissi says there is no way our board would even come to the table on the wages he would want. Would need to be a loan with Man City paying all the wages to even get us talking. If that was the case I think we would have better clubs than us in for him.

You mean we arent going to sign him? This fucking club.....
-
Didnt Lens release him with Abeid?
-
Be delighted with him or Defoe at this stage. Still, proper gutted if we ended up with Crouch.

Im going to live in the small corner of my house that is left with optimism, cling to it and say we are either keeping Barton or we will bring someone else in addition to Obertan. convinced he is to replace Routledge. Pardew said back in January that we would replace Routledge.
-
Exactly, that's why Enrique is a steal at 10m! I'd think your right with around 7.5m though hopefully with a bunch of add ons.
-
I think we have been lacking pace on the right and he will be a decent alternative to Barton/Taylor (shudder). I don't think Larson would have offered us much different and is pretty slow.
-
Like to think ubertan is in for routledge and barnetta will be brought in if Barton goes. Would be nice if we just brought barnett in first rather than potentially missing out later and scrambling if Barton goes, it's not as if he couldn't slot into several other positions in the team.

Nzogbia to villa? If they want him they should be paying a darn sight more than 5m. Rather see him stay until the end of the season.
-
Sibbers #2 tbh. I am happy to have the lightbulb headed freak in, would rather have seen Barnetta here and we still might but I think that really depends on what happens to Barton. Decent striker and a LB/CB next.
-
But will he go train with Rochdale?
-
Club is a complete fucking joke.
-
Neither is Barton.

Happy with what we have got keeper wise. Granted its going to be hard to keep everyone happy but Harper is as reliable as Green and the others are learning. Happy to start Krul, think he is the pick of the crop.
-
Wouldn't mind buying Barnetta and Obertan on a loan. Should give us enough depth in midfield Joey Barton or not.
-
So, things looking good? Let's hope the journal is right and we can tie this one up quickly.
-
Macheda was the best player on the pitch during the two stateside games I watched. Hardly ready to be first choice but has a decent future IMO. Would be similar to when we brought in rossi IMO except will already have back up. Need a main man.
-
If all our purchases flop, that may be the scenario. But I doubt that will be the case. I think we've been working on finding Barton and Enrique's replacements for some time now, so I guess we'll see some new, young and exiting faces soon.. We've already seen lots of exiting faces, Carroll, Nolan, Routledge, Enrique, Barton...

Last minute U-Turn, two fingers up at Dogleash and signing a contract to stay on 5 years.
-
Under current circumstances I would wet my bed in excitement. I think both players are potentially better, although naturally they could also both flop. I would be more than happy, but still expecting a decent striker to be brought in as well.

The return of Van Aanholt? Available on loan again.

It normally takes a player at least one season to settle in to the premiership. We have left to many 1st team players leave this window and replaced them with to many foreigners who are going straight to the first team lineup imo. Its a massive gamble hoping all will settle like Tiote did. Worst case scenario we don get any more bodies in, and we dont have anyone to put at left back... Probably why we are more likely to end up with Puncheon/Bently and Bridge/Warnock. What you say is true. Its arguable we have enough premiership experience within the squad to let us integrate two more new signings, although it certainly is a gamble going foreign to the extent we are looking to. Finding similar quality from within the premiership seems unlikely though due to the amount we would have to spend to acquire them. The downside is pushing Raylor and Smith into the first team picture. The line up for Arsenal doesn't change too much with Barton's exit, Enrique is a problem. 4-4-2 to start the season probably. I think the 4-5-1 will be on hold until we get some players in, whether that's 2011 or 2012 we shall see. Cabaye Tiote Cabaye Tiote Gosling Guti Marveaux or Guti Marveux Ba Shola Ba Not really too different to most peoples predictions as people wanted to leave Guti on the bench. Means whom ever we get in at LB has to slot right in though.

Blatently going to insert himself into Enriques exit and claim credit for tell everyone he would leave. Another talent wasted pushed out the door #willseeyousoonjose

Its the kind of deal that makes perfect sense, so for us, pretty unlikely to happen. Much like using Routledge as bait for Taylor or N'Zobia, getting Cole for Nolan, or asking for some players as part of the Carroll deal. Just kidding on Cole
