Quality play, havent seen us look so good in a long time. Enrique and Barton look like footballing gods. Parker is having a good game for them, doesnt seem like anyone else has a clue for them, lucky for us! Should take Loven off pronto for Danger Ranger. Was just thinking how badly we need to replace Nolan minutes before he does his usual magic reappearing trick to score. I truely do wonder what the hell he does for the rest of the game though. Is that equal to his career best in the premiership now? Like Bests flouncing celebration for the first goal! He has done well, got in the right places and finished nicely. Not a revelation by any means, but this game will do wonders for his confidence.

Think he would have done alright for us, would have been a gamble for sure, especially at that price. We can do alot better than Keane, doubt that we will but we have been shocked before.

Touch off topic, but didnt spuds owe us a loan or two from the Bassong deal? Rumors at the time anyway, we were going to get Rose and O Hara, never materialised though.

And.. - Foul opposition defenders. - Mis-control the ball. - Pass to the opposition when its easier to put our player through on goal. He wasn't that bad in fairness for the first half today. He was frustrating as hell the second year though. Despite the fact he has the talent to be half decent I live for the day we get rid. He did at least run a little bit off the ball today, still puts in half his capable shift imo. On a random note, I dont know why I have never noticed this but does he have a crucifix on his forehead inbetween his eyes?

Studs up and over the ball, have seen reds given for less. Yellow was the right decision. Got lucky with Taylors hand ball too, could have gone either way there, lucky Webb chose to ignore it. Can't see where else Taylor could put his arms though.

Dont think anyone is interested and like you pointed out he will have to take a big cut in wages wherever he ends up. Its his time to step up, he hasnt shown any interest in the past though. As other people mentioned either his attitude stinks or he simply isnt good enough. I would pick the latter considering we have been in situations where attitude could be accepted to get results. Granted he hasnt been given an extended run in the starting line up, but he also hasnt been picked by the past 4/5 managers when fit. Stuck with him til his contract runs out imo.

Not really sure Djarlo is up to it, certainly an improvement on what we have though. Should bring him just for his wife tbh. Best mates with Veluso too, maybe we can nick him from Genoa in the summer!

So take out the flashes of pure brilliance and its kind of like having Smith, Shola, Perch, Lovenkrands and Guthrie then. To name a few. Surely he would be an upgrade. there are better upgrades ..and mainly in more important areas. Not to say we couldn't improve in CM/AM we have to at least ship Guthrie and Smith out. Then we still have Nolan, Gosling, Barton and maybe HBA to fill that role. As I said earlier, along with CB its the least likely position I could see us strengthening this January.

Just hours to go til the end of the season too.. Just a lot of em. Taarabt wouldnt make a whole lot of sense given the other positions we need to strengthen in. Being Newcastle I guess that means it will likely happen.

Would be a big gamble to assume he could make the step up. Type of player i hope we are looking to sign though.. ie his pace/versatility.
