    Alan Pardew

Sir Bobby's as of now, but I think we could certainly ask again after the Summer. We are about 4/5 signings away from being better imo. Given then was better than Krul, although the latter has the potential to surpass him Hughes, Distin, Dabizas, R Elliott, O Bernard. I would take Distin and Bernard but Colo is superior and Taylor probably on par with Distin. Hughes is roughly the same as Simpson. Elliot is a poor mans Raylor, who in turn is a poor mans Santon. Solano, K Dyer, G Speed, L Robert, C Acuna - Just an incredible midfield that had everything, we have a very different look now. We just dont have anyone to match Robert, few clubs do, he was insane. I think Ben Arfa is closer to Dyer than anyone else but far better. We haven't seen the best out of Cabaye yet so I would prefer Speed. Solano matches best with Guti but the former was far better. Tiote everytime over Acuna naturally although Clarence was very underrated. We do have greater squad depth though with Marveaux, Guthrie, Ferguson, Gosling and Obertan waiting in the wings. LuaLua Bellamy, Shearer. - We just don't have anyone in the Bellamy mould, and will anyone ever come close to filling Shearers boots? add Ba and Cisse to that strike force though and wow. If we add another play maker close to the same league as Solano/Robert, a decent LB/RB and striker in the Bellamy mould I would say this team is much stronger.
  2. Perchinio #2 playing at CB http://nuwfc.com/archives/620 ...Oh, and congrats to the lasses.
  3. Get in! Been waiting for this news. Can't wait to see him back looked fantastic before his injuries.
  4. Well it's in our hands if the spurs and arsenal drop the ball several times. Well come to think of it, it is very much in stokes hands on saturday.
  5. We are surely signing another striker regardless of Ba leaving aren't we? Lovenkrands is off, bestie might be too and shola will stick like glue but is winding down. Hope we go for Rodriguez tbh, then dost if Ba/bestie leaves.
  6. Pure belter! Expect it to be in the club shop on a cheaply made T-shirt this summer.
  7. Well lets consider who we have lured to the team even without European football on offer, this is another huge step up the ladder and opens up a few more doors to names that wouldnt have been interested before. I don't think we have enough in us to finish fourth given our run in comparison to Spurs. Wigan away will be extremely hard and we rarely do well there, chelsea, Man City and Everton likewise. I think we will finish 5th on the basis Chelsea will drop some points and we might scrape a draw against them. 6th however is massive if we end up there.
  8. This.. Arsenal are well out of reach, Imo. Had City beaten them like the script said I would be rooting for chelsea but I think its better Arsenal win. More incentive for Spurs if they can catch Arsenal and could finish 3rd/4th, more panic and looking down if they just have 4th to cling on to.
  9. Tbf I think had they won it wouldnt have made a difference. Its just one extra game. They could well have been buoyed by victory of chelsea and turned their poor run completely around. This thumping after the Norwich result could do more damage mentally or could do the opposite too and see them annihilate the opposition in their next matches too. We will see next week.
  10. It's a foot away ffs. It really isnt, and ITV's virtual mockup thing is way off. It doesn't even touch the line! Seriously, have a look at a replay with an open mind. Ekoto is well behind the line and his clearing foot is always behind it. For the ball to have hit that foot then at least half of the ball must have been over. ITV have used technology to get that mock-up, you're going off some opinion you have. Here's an idea, go to specsavers. Kenny? Is that you?
  11. Well it benefited another London club, so they cancel each other out. Expect a 50/50 split of Chelsea praise and Spurs daylight robbery where both clubs were a credit to themselves and the game for their professionalism during unthinkable circumstances.
  12. Kaboul on Holt was worse. They should both get life time bans IMO. Unless they take the community service in playing for us for free for the next three years.
  13. All Roberto has done is pick up the toys off the floor and give them back to the players, they'll be out of the pram again soon enough. How did Glenn Roeder turn our team from 15th to 7th? It's the pick-me-up of losing a manager who the players weren't supporting. What are you trying to say about Hughton now?
  14. All Roberto has done is pick up the toys off the floor and give them back to the players, they'll be out of the pram again soon enough. The upside is that if he keeps picking up results they might keep him on next year, then things will fall apart again.
  15. Looks like there is another one to review that will get ignored, with Mikel kicking out now.
  16. It will be getting binned upon receipt at Soho Square at this rate. If Harry has a rant at Martin Atkinson it might anger the FA. Maybe? As if, he could murder some babies and get let off on the grounds of being a cheeky flappy chappy.
  17. Terrible Terrible decision. This has been the worst year for refereeing in my memory. Incidentally did anything happen with Kabouls blatant kick out on Grant Holt last weekend? Was shown on tv but not even mentioned.
  18. Downside is I expect Spurs will be going for the throat in the premier league now. They also have the easiest run in.
  19. Wow, is the ground announcer a chelsea fan or what? Almost wet himself announcing Frank Lampards name.
  20. That video is not serious, shirley..
  21. Love us to play Vancouver given the Beardo/Sir Bobby ties. I would drive the necessary hours to get there too!
  22. Maybe we can send him for a year in a premiership club? Just put in a clause so he doesnt play us. I'm sure someone would take him. He certainly needs to be around high level players and coaches. Playing experience in the championship won't be enough for him to improve to where we as fans at least want to see him. Will be enough for us to sell him at a profit though.
  23. Competition is not going to make him a better footballer technically but it will force him to actually try harder to work on his game and become a better footballer. He has been in the comfort zone and I think he has taken his foot off the learning pedal because of it.
  24. Meh if its not simpson it is Williamson. No surprise the hatred has been intensified since obertans disappearance also. Simpson has the problem of being automatic first choice t RB, desperately needs some solid competition tbh. It is true he was one of our most improved players two years ago. I think he has regressed since though. Needs to up his game to stay IMO.
