I guess so, with the Olympics seen as a big farce it is no surprise clubs don't want to risk their players. It is a tough one, the club is entitled to a say, they pay their wages and the clubs fate can revolve around their fitness. Can't blame them from being protective any kind of national games are as much of a liability as they are a bonus in driving players market prices up.

There is certainly a lot more money being invested into football than there used to be. It is the same in the states, ashamedly not so much in Canada, although the sport is hugely popular. There is likely to be a speight of talent coming though in the future imo. Good's chances might be hit or miss but we will have done our homework on him and have seen him up close so I doubt it is a huge gamble.

Gaël Bigirimana rejoins Coventry on a permanent basis

Sweeping up? What? Just because he's black? f*** me man he's come to play football not be used as a slave. are you speaking as an oppressed victim or guilty abuser? -
Really don't understand why the likes of Carroll, Jones and Chamberlain couldn't play.. should be down to the player and their club. They hardly extended themselves at the Euro's.

Interesting to see how his play contrasts with Abeid, who we were grooming as a DM. Could be wrong but seems like the two compliment each other with Mehdi more of a playmaker and Bigirimana sweeping up? -

does this spell the end of interest in Anita? -
Lots of action... fuck all pay off so far!

Exactly... either has to pay to train or cleans the guys boots until the kiddies are back from school holidays.

boooooooooooooooo. Ok we didn't really need him anyway.
-
Nah, that's just when he thinks to hard that part expands like a balloon. Unfortunately I think he is player that needs a big hug and mollycoddling opposed to a kick in the balls and slap to get his head right. Upside is Pardew is all about the love.

Talking of Gameiro I wouldn't be too surprised if we looked at him again, should the price be right and the rumors be true about him being offered to us. I'd still be chuffed with him despite last years snub. It was his boyhood club wasn't PSG? I thought he was more similar to Ba than Cisse? Nippy player that can play on the wings, and poach a mean goal?

*Shifted.

I dont really blame them, i'm just certain McLaren will sell him to someone else for less than what we offer just to be a dick lol..... and that will annoy me. He is really just upset he wont have 5 strikers on his books to employ his five strikers on the pitch tactic. Worked a belter at boro though tbf.
-
Don't blame McLaren or Twente, they obviously believe they can get more out of buyers. He would cost double the price if he was over here. Just frustrating as hell to us. we can move on and see what happens with our bid. If de Jong made some noises about wanting to come to us that would help, he seems pretty level headed and open minded as to where he ends up though, unfortunatley.

A Mackem must have changed the thread title I see... move along.

He reminds me of Shola but on the wing. The guy has the tools to be as good as he wants to be but he just doesn't seem to have the hunger and footballing brain to make the extra step. I used to think it was a confidence issue until i saw zero improvement despite his name being an automatic starter on the team sheet. That might be harsh given his injury problems, but he seems scared shitless once he has done any good work and made it to the opposition box. He seems to lack the confidence in his own ability to shoot or take the last man on, which is crazy given the skills he does have. I hope he gets fit and proves the doubters wrong, he can do but I think 80% of his future performances depend on his own state of mind, rather than his physical ability.

I think it's ridiculous bet time, because if we managed to get hoilett, Douglas, debuchy, Anita and de Jong it would have to be the most impossible transfer window of all time. Not to mention the potential streams of spunk lining the streets of Newcastle making the current floods look like a puddle.
-
Made up for snubbing us earlier in his career by chipping in with 29 important goals. Wish him all the best.
-
Hope he moves to Birmingham and bags a ton.
-
I would be surprised if we managed to sign Hoilett but we do have a standing interest in him, numerous reports over the past year. We will be two strikers down if Best follows Lovenkrands out the door, we also could do with another pacy Right/Left wing cover imo.
-
Would take Hoillett, still think we should be doing everything we can to get Barnetta.

Selling him to Man City for 30m, a snip at the price.

Sense, logical, rationality.. things not often found in Ronaldo's posts, but it is here.

Odds on.
