  1. Split on Keane. On one side I think he could flourish given an extended run of games and the chance of a partnership with AC. On the other side he could be a huge disapointment and going for someone completely different might be a better idea. He would bring alot of experience, which we are definately missing right now up front. He has more of a footballing brain than our entire front line too, I'm not saying that is hard to match or beat though. Babel is a decent shout although I think he could be more of a gamble than Keane. We need someone that we will be consistent and reliable so the likes of AC and Ranger can come through at the right pace. Our budget might give us problems finding that kind of player.
  2. We will bring in two players at the most. Some classic knee jerking today, granted we were always inadequete upfront and some people have always questioned the midfield.
  3. Downing and Adam Johnson on either wing, SJH will be having a wet dream. This would be ideal. I think we will see a LB in on loan and a Striker. Really hope the striker is significantly better than what we have, we need to ship Xisco, Best, Lovenkrands and Shola out, the latter two can wait until the summer. I think we will be in for Keane without a doubt. I expect him to end up somewhere else though.
  4. Would be a solid appointment. Nice mid point age wise between Steve Stone and Willie Donachie. Some solid experience behind him now too.
  5. Blatently just saying no exits, can't believe people are getting their knickers in a twist. All talk anyway.. Blatently selling the likes of Best, Xisco and Perch.
  6. If Liverpool lose once or twice more over the next couple of weeks there will be a swift sacking of Hodgson and hiring of MON, imo.
  7. Yup Think Taylor will take Willows place though, his tongue is far up Pardews ass.
  8. Going to cost a lot of money to get an upgrade on Nolan, which is unrealistic in the short term. Depending on how he returns from injury maybe Gosling could be molded into that role. We desperately need a decent Striker in January. Ranger looked bright today but he is still raw, an injury to Carroll and we are looking toothless again. With a bit of luck we can offload Xisco, Best, Lovenkrands and Shola even if its for peanuts. Probably more realistic that the latter two will be kept on until the end of the season.
  9. What a guy, certainly slowly becoming a fat cult legend. Nolan nt jdckelly for the record, although jdckelly is great too I'm sure.
  10. Yeah but he is alot like a battered wife, he will come back for more and take it. His West Ham connection will be strong. He would definately benefit going back to the championship with Ipswich or Sheffield United, premiership management will be a big pull though.
  11. Sweet, good gig, hope they look after him . Good move if true. Can see him hanging about for the West Ham job though....cant be long.

"Uh, Earth to brint..." Brint: ..its like the way Ashley runs his football club? Lambias: Or like, doesn't, it's like, ex-squeeze me, but have you ever heard of public relations? Brint: I'm sure Ashley's heard of public relations, he's a male buisnessman. Lambias: Uh, earth to Brint, I was making a joke. Brint: Uh, Earth to Lambias, duh, okay I knew that! Lambias: Uh earth to Brint, I'm not so sure you did cuz you were all 'well I'm sure he's heard of public relations' like you DIDN'T know it was a joke! Brint: I knew it was a joke Lambias, I just didn't get it right away! Lambias: Earth to Brint... Pardew and Ashley: Would you guys stop it already?
  14. Heard he got a parcel from Hughton this morning containing a Cigar Cutter and picture of Pardew.

    Alan Pardew

Like to think they will play out of their skin for Hughton on Saturday...celebrating by revealing pro hughton messages. If we score I would expect the players to go straight to the fans and run past the dug out blanking the coaching staff. They should certainly be fired up for Saturday. Could certainly go one way or another. Past this weekend though is anybody's guess. They dont have much choice but to give him a chance, if he is any good I am sure they will take to him, but if he is every bit the cunt he appears to be the half arsed performances will be obvious.
  17. But he wont carry a transfer fee? Good business if we can get his head straight...might keep dyer out of trouble.

“The only way I am going to gain faith from the fans and the owners is by keeping the club in the Premier League.” Going to have to do a fuck load more than that you filthy animal. He isnt winning over any support by keeping us up, that is his job, its not even bare minimum. We have everything in place to stay up other than a decent manager. The only way he is going to win over the fans is by sacking himself or finishing top 6 and winning the FA Cup. He stands no chance of winning over anyone this season.

Of course the Liverpool game is a write off, Beardsley will be in charge as Pardew doesnt yet know the team, best formations etc... The losses the two weeks after will be too soon to judge, lots of changes being made, needs to be time to gel. The week after will be frustrating but confidence in his own abilities to turn things around. Week after we scrape a win off new captain Alan Smiths ass. hit and miss for another four weeks, Barton, Guti and Carrol out. Reocoker in. Two weeks later he is sacked and Ron Noades is brought in.

Good god, that interview was facepalm after facepalm. Complete lamb to the slaughter. I had thought the hierachy backed him, but as it appears he knows less than his predecessors. Clueless and out by February, just in time for Venables to take us down in true style. Doesnt know the squad? Can't pronounce Hughtons name, I'm sure he will be corrected when he calls him to ask for tips, madness! Newcastle a town various times. Doesnt have a guarentee on funds? Complete and utter shambles.
  21. I see he is getting used to the future atmosphere at SJP already. http://www.pafc.co.uk/javaImages/9a/2b/0,,10364~7416730,00.jpg

    MLS 2010

Yeah, I'm hoping to get over there for some games, might be nip/tuck with the stadium being done in time. I love the plans for the second stadium opened out to the waterfront. That squad is going to need some quality additions before Spring that is for sure. Should be an interesting season.
  23. Agreed its pretty similar to when Souness was appointed except there were people, myself included willing to give him a chance. There is without doubt much more outcry this time around. At least Souness had his winning record to point to. I see Hughton a little more like Roeder, the difference is the board have decided to sack him 6 months sooner than they did with Roeder. In that stead I have less problem with the sacking if they felt he wasn't the right man and wanted someone more experience, harsh on Hughton yes, best interest of the club yes. What is stunning and mind blowing is why they would want to risk the team harmony and blow the chance to get a manager in of a much higher caliber by appointing Pardew. Two steps forward one step back. The problem we now face is that there is little true option but staying at home and finding something better to do or give Pardew a chance. Ashley has been raping us hog tied over a barrel for the past 3 1/2 years. He is thick skinned and ignorant and going nowhere, Pardew is thick skinned and going nowhere also. Protests aren't going to do anything positive. However I think the opinions HAVE to be voiced this weekend regardless. Past that I don't really see much else to do than live with it, constantly reminding the board that we want them out but without being a detriment to the team and getting in the way of the most important On field occurrences. The only thing that will keep the club up is the fans supporting the players and hoping they pull together and do the opposite on the field. Its a dangerous and at best sideways step that could easily finish this club. Ashley has just bought the coffin and given the fans the nails.
