Fantastic achievement for Pardew and the staff, and nice timing to help sink in how well we have done this season. While we hope for the best on Sunday lets try not to get too disappointed if we end up fifth. Can't believe I even just said that!

Fantastic work from the powers that be, great location, great statue for a great great man. Miss him.

Will we qualify for the Champions League? Sadly not...

Arsenal and Spurs to both lose, we draw and end up 5th! -
We did mix it up true but we hit the long ball all game long, i dont remember many instances were we passed it like we can which is'nt suprising because 4-4-2 is cack when it comes to creativity, passing and movement which is why i dont like to see us playing it..... it only works for so long before you are found out. Wrong system and wrong tactics for me, but as i said as long as we learn from it i wont care too much. Maybe i was just brain dead but I didn't think that at all. We played a lot of football along the ground, a lot of attacks started with runs just outside our own penalty box and down the left flank.

Did you see some of his passing in the first half? Sublime. The flick that nearly put Demba through was ridiculous. -
I have time for him, especially playing more central as a three with Tiote and Cabaye. Worked his ass off again today, lacks pace but still has tricks in his locker for passes and holding up the ball. Still think he needs replacing on the starting team sheet.
-
So would Tiote, Ba, Cisse, Krul, Santon and Cabaye. Cisse and Van Persie upfront Lets just sign Van Persie instead.
-
Thought he was decent today, great work rate. He will score more goals soon. That control in the second half and the fannying around playing keepups afterward, hilarious....if we really didnt need him to pass the ball properly at the end of it.

I think the tactics were pretty close to spot on. We couldn't match them attacking without letting them rip us apart at the back. We contained them well by cutting out their play makers in midfield, forcing them to play it long. Don't think we were looking to pump it long at all, almost all of our attacks came from the wings and along the ground, a lot of them starting from just outside our own penalty box too. We had some great chances actually, probably the better ones in the first half. Just missed that quality. Some of Cabayes passing was sublime though, ridiculous vision.

Yep - me too. Or at least dropping points. Dropping points wont help us unless its all three! -
A little undeserved grip I have to throw in as well.. fuck me Williamson and his holding. Should have given away at least two penalties today. Almost ripped Agueros arm out of his socket at one point right in front of Howard Webb. The lack of pace and organization after Santon switching and Jonas covering LB didnt help us, combined with Toure moving up we were pretty susceptible.

Didn't like taking him off, but glad he is being rested to unleash the force against Everton.

Still in with a chance... Woys last game at West Brom for Arsenal and a very in form Fulham team that could nick something from spurs. Be surprised if we nick anything from Everton but we will be fired up from todays result and Everton have nothing to play for. -
He is losing his pace rapidly, scary how slow he is in comparison to when he arrived. I nearly broke the tv after the Aguero chance where he just stood and watched the ball loose in our penalty box with Krul grounded. Replays showed my opinion to be harsh though, there was a bit of hesitation but he couldn't get there to clear the ball. He got a ton of space with Santon though, especially in the first half and the end of the second. He is a great worker but he needs replacing in the starting line up next year.
-
Mould him into an attacking left-back. I thought that was what we were doing. Seems like we have given up on that though, since he returned we have played him further up. That could just be because he has more of an impact from there if he is coming on. I would be happy if we did go back to doing that though and keep him around as back up for a new LB/LW. Wouldnt mind seeing him on loan somewhere in the premiership though also.

Just lacked one or two more players with the ability to make something special happen, they have a squad full of them. Someone of Hatems quality coming through the middle and a top class defender to partner Colo and a fullback to match Santons class and we will do well again next year. We were undone by class today, but we did ourselves proud. On the upside Santon was fantastic and some of the link up play from Cabaye to the front three was sublime. Also some real quality from Ferguson in his cameo. I don't really know what we are going to do with him next year though. Also on a side note, dissapointed not to see Marveaux get some minutes.

Biggest game of the season. If we someone how manage to do the impossible and win, champions league is in our grasp again. Lot of pressure for both teams. Can't see us winning but it will be a cracker of a game. Must win for both teams. -
Im happy to support Roy and watch England under him. I don't see it ending well, he is establishment and the status quo of over aged divas will remain imo. He is a great manager though. It seems an uninspiring appointment but Capello, Keegan, Sven all looked great and turned to crap. Still think Harry would have been better, its win win, either he gets somewhere with England or we get to see the press rip his bent being to shreds.
-
And he will do it too.
-
On the bench next weekend? bloody fantastic to have him back. Good Idea to be playing a few of those lads for the reserve game. Like to see Best, Ober, Marveaux and Guthrie to get a run out.
-
All depends on in and out comings. We need to keep our best players and add some more real quality, if we do that then we have a chance. Europe will take a lot out of us next season to the point we might drop some places in the league. We should be aiming for top 7 though without a doubt, even if we sell Ba, Tiote and Krul, I think we can replace them.

All over the pitch today, worked so hard, fantastic player. Movement is mental.
