SSN: David O'Leary 'no longer in contention' for NUFC job

What ginola shit? Sorry I completely missed this.. that and not having SSN. -
He is at Rangers, not signed a deal but is training with them He's not even training with the team. Just using their facilities. He wa gagging for a leak like.

I fail to see the relevence? Because i'm starting to think he just doesn't give a f*** and is willing to take the hit. All the close season moves so far seem to be directed at taking us further down than back up. If the rumours surrounding Taylor and Duff are true we are proper f***ed, not because they're world class but we've got no f***ing players left. Either way more great preparation for Saturdays tie at Reading. Half the squad probably dont even know if they will be playing for us by then.

Two words: STRACHAN Lets face it, its either O'Dreary or more likely Kinnear. The likes of Curbs, Coppell (as much as I dislike him) and Strachan wont nod their heads at everything Ashley and his goon want doing. Either way, something has to give and soon. -
Going to need someone to fill the gap left by Jonas/Duff. Although I can also see him going to Reading and us using Geremi all season.

Keep until January. We should try and keep hold of the likes of Smith, Duff, Enrique until January, by which stage hopefully we will be closer to knowing our chances of getting back up or not. Not to mention also have the time and hopefully the stability to attract replacements in .
-
As good as gone IMO. We have little choice but to sell given our situation. Quite how we will replace the players that are leaving i'm not sure. Duff, Jonas, Colo, Enrique, Taylor, Butt, Barton, Nolan and Smith will all be subject to bids over the next couple of weeks, whilst I wont be gutted to see some of those out the door, I will be gutted to see no one coming in replacing them. We are in a world of trouble if things dont turn around over the weekend.

Ashely at least knows O'Leary will work under no budget and never ask questions. Curbs and Strachan are on the list just for credibility reason, neither would work under fat ash, as much as I would like it. -

Preferred the article that mentioned strachan and curbs as other options being considered. Would probably like both more than shearer tbh. -

Well that depends on who we bring in and who takes over the club. -

Obviously O'Leary would be better than Kinnear and Hughton, but thats like having the options of a quick death or two slow painfull ones. We could surely attract the likes of Strachan or Curbishley or appoint Shearer. I', sure there are a huge amount of managers higher up the food chain than O'Leary. There is a reason he has been without a job for three years. Despite putting himself in the frame for jobs when they come up. -
Was a Legend yesterday. Loved the two slow-mo replays they showed of him. First one after his first save he was clenching both FISTS and shouting "Come on!" Second one Saylor comes up to him and nuts him, whilst screaming at him, then pulls his hair after another blinding save. Will be hard to sit back on the bench, we will have to see if Harper is fit enough for next week, good to know we have such a great deputy.

Fuming. Wouldnt blame O'Dreary, like Kinnear id be jumping on the chance if it was offered, especially when no-one else has offered them a job in 3 years, despite their best efforts. Absolute joke though. Shearer should have been interim until a buyer was found. Unless like someone said, it was a cheap party trick putting the club on the market, when Ashley actually had no intention to sell. -
Latest tripe from the Daily Mail. I will cling on to it given the latest O'Leary rumours! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1205225/Geordie-hero-Shearer-boss-Newcastle-days.html Geordie hero Shearer back as boss of Newcastle 'within days' By Rob Draper Last updated at 5:53 PM on 09th August 2009 * Comments (1) * Add to My Stories Waiting in the wings: Former boss Shearer Waiting in the wings: Former boss Shearer Alan Shearer could return as Newcastle manager as early as next week — but only if owner Mike Ashley is willing to accept a £70million offer for the club from Geordie businessman Barry Moat. As Newcastle came from behind to draw 1-1 with West Bromwich yesterday on the opening day of the Championship season, Ashley, whose name was repeatedly abused by travelling fans, was flying in from Hawaii to finalise negotiations, with Keith Harris — who is conducting the potential sale — confident the deal can be completed within days. Newcastle dropped Joey Barton to the bench after reports of an altercation with temporary manager Chris Hughton and Moat is keen to get Shearer, who was at The Hawthorns yesterday as a BBC analyst, before the transfer window closes, so the club can buy players better suited to a promotion campaign. Shearer said: ‘If someone comes in and buys the football club and wants me as manager and everything is right, and they want to get the club back up to the Premier League, then I would dearly love the chance to finish what I started last season. Other than that, you have to believe me when I say I don’t know anything.’ The decision will depend on Ashley’s attitude when he meets Seymour Pierce chairman Harris this week, who will present him the terms of Moat’s bid for the club. But Ashley wants at least £90m and may yet decided to stay at the club for another year. Shearer added: ‘I am still here, still in limbo. I don’t know any more than anyone else. But I want it sorted either way because of the love of the football club.’ Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1205225/Geordie-hero-Shearer-boss-Newcastle-days.html#ixzz0Nht8OgDs
