  1. Might fancy routledge behind carroll, swp's wide right. Both hughton and wayne have said he can play well through the centre. I wouldn't complain, he showed last season he has a decent shot and pass on him. Unlikely city will be letting him go, more likely we are after santa cruz and boyata. Not really sure what the latter would bring to us. He is supposedly very talented, but we don't need another CB. Kadar will be back and campbell fit over the next couple of weeks.
  2. Rather sign two attacking/creating wingers/midfielders than a striker tbh.play with one striker up top with a creative attacking mid behind. its more important we get the creativity and pace in midfield, I have faith that most of our strikers can finish given the chances.
  3. Thought that fell through due to personal terms? Makes more sense than RSC, can play on the wing too.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Ok I am bored already, can we please just sign him.
  5. Going to take 5 mins before the other lads are calling him chuck in interviews. That is until he snaps them.
  6. This, plus lately he is a permacrock. Not going to cry about it if we get him but we should be looking at a completely different type of player IMO.

    Fraser Forster

Great move for him and Celtic. Great preparation for next season where we can have krul and foster fighting it out for the spot.

    Joey Barton

Cracking, love the shaving pics! Nazi salute my arse, absolutely anything to stir up problems and section out that crazy loose cannon Barton. Aye he has a long way to go to prove he is over his previous problems but he has been great for us the past year, put his head down and has worked hard.
  9. Really? I thought he was excellent. He had a couple of decent crosses cut out. I hope you're right in the fact he will play better though. If he just continues to play like he did today I can see questions being raised about and England cap. He was all over the place today, finds space, battles hard and can pick out a cracking pass, although like you said he didn't do it as much today as he did in a few games last year. Will take some time to gel with Perch or whom ever is playing RB.
  10. Yep, legend. Loved him from his first interview, refreshingly down to earth, surprisingly well spoken, intelligent but confident in his own abilities. Whilst he and Colo were playing dangerously with the offside trap he doesn't look out of his depth. Chipped in at the other end of the pitch too! Has a big future if he can really adapt to the pace of the league. Hope Saylor slots in at RB, will be very happy with that back line, with Campbell helping them in training and waiting to step in if anything goes wrong.
  11. Who the f*** wanted that? Ronaldo, man. We've been through this. Eh? Half the forum would have taken that in January. seem to remember people suggesting giving Leeds Ranger on loan, dont believe anyone wanted to let Carroll go.
  12. I disagree, think Ashely might be more willing to spend now. Ashley needs to fall in love with the club again, then he'll start spending. fingers crossed.
  13. He is a prize knob, but you have to love him! I thought Barton was good today. Out of the three slow central midfielders playing he's the one who actually has some ability and can make us play. Great game, fantastic goal.. needs to recreate more performances like this before he can believe his own hype.
  14. Fantastic game for him and Colo. He makes some very smart tackles.
  15. Moyes would probably get more out of Smith that NUFC has tbh. Smith's gone stale here and it is time to move on IMO. Played great today best game i've seen from him, but i'd still see him off if anyone was daft enough to take him. I doubt Moyes was there to watch Smith btw, unfortunately. As if, just there to watch Villa who Everton play next.
  16. I said this after the Man U game and uber-expert Ronaldo scoffed at it. But he looks a good defender...not so much going forwards though. Had a decent game as any. Was barely tested to be fair, or maybe that is just because he was playing well. Needs to work on mirroring what enrique does with Guti.

Shearer knows nowt tbh. Think we are still hunting a nippy creative mid and a striker that can cover the right wing.
  18. Commentators both said offside... It was clearly on. BBC said it was a handball.. makes more sense now you mention seeing it.
  19. Anyone see Shearer celebrating after Carroll's hatrick? Looked like he had a load of better slips he was taunting his friends with, classic!
  20. It was pretty close to Baggio bad. He just ripped it. We played like kings today, although we did without have lady luck on our side. Harper gave a needless penalty away and we should have been one down, then Young should have scored to tie it up, clearly on side. bar a very dodgy first half from Harper, everyone was immense. More than Carroll should be eyeing up an England birth if they can keep todays form up and even improve on it.
  21. Ashley's chequebook officially closed!
  22. We look great, have to be careful at the back, Harper has been woeful. We have been lucky but we have looked very good Barton, Carrol, routledge, gutierrez and Enrique have been outstanding.
  23. Perfect as he can play in a couple of positions if there is even the slightest possibility of lescott being available I hope we are jumping all over it. He needs a new start and would be perfect for us at cb or lb. Santa Cruz is better than anything we have but not different enough in style for us to be bidding for him IMO.
