  1. I'm not advocating for getting him. Just saying he wanted the Fulham job, I think he would jump at the chance of the job here if it was available too. Ajax letting him go is a separate issue, they are the reason he didn't to Fulham, wouldn't be any different if he wanted to come here in the immediate future.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Hughton has denied anything regarding Ben Arfa, he hasn't been committal either. He did say there was no progress or nothing new to report, something along those lines. Definitely in for him regardless of the outcome.
  3. Nice. Its true, Perch is the new Aaron Hughes!
  4. so if the power was in your hands who would you hire to replace him? Maybe Martin jol. For me if the manager picks the right team a result can be blamed on the players, for me hughton often selects the wrong team, ir Guthrie on the right and that will be found out this season The same Martin Jol who turned down the UEFA League finalist Fulham to stay at Ajax (2nd in Eredivise)? No seriously, who would you hire to be the manager? That said he only turned them down because contractually he had to. He would be here in a shot IMO.
  5. I'd agree, Kadar look's far more proficient in the short time we have seen him. However, having signed Perch and Simpson I don't see us signing another RB, regardless of us needing one Hughton would be accepting poor choices as far as Perch and Simpson are concerned. Onuoha would be mint though. Back to Kadar, Hughton didn't rate him at LB last season in the championship so I would be surprised and certainly curious to see why he would rate him now. Van Aanholt was brought in on loan in preference despite being younger. I would love to see us getting a decent RB and LB in but I think its more likely we will get a LB

  7. This, I have the brown panty fear. We will struggle to contain them even if we are playing at our best. Faith in the Hughts though.
  8. WTF was that statement all about anyways? What a waste of everyone's f***ing time. Was aimed at other clubs and the media more than anything else, playing games and making sure we weren't held for ransom like in the past. As far as the better good goes, whom ever does the statements has never had a problem with leaving the fans as collateral damage. It's far from ideal as you can tell, but maybe its working?
  9. Mancienne would be a cracking signing, could do a decent job in DM or CB, could learn alot from Campbell too. Still be very suprised if we were in with a shout at getting him. Surely a LB and AM/striker are higher priorities.
  10. this hasn't been a great game in terms of quality True, but if we cant dictate the pace of the game we will be in trouble, paul scholes is quicker than the majority of our team. I don't think we can even register the speed they pass.
  11. Close call between the comical finish and the defending by chelsea. If Manure play anywhere close to this they will rip us a new one next week.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Is it too premature for the poll of who he will fall out with first? Hughton calderwood Carroll Barton Nolan Campbell The fans
  13. Good PR. It is what it is, I can't believe anyone wants to find something negative in it. Hope they throw some more random trialists into the training session for some more forum related hi-jinx.
  14. Sell to buy - only an option if we sell Raylor, Smith, Xisco and Ameobi. If that happens we might be able to afford one player from the SPL. Ie Kenny Miller.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

If cleverley has gone anywhere else, its because he isn't our first choice. Whether we get our first, second or third choice remains to be seen. Not hopeful about ben arfa, but we will get someone in to cover the left flank/upfront. 50/50 chance of getting out targets imo,We are probably hedging our bets to get our targets as cheap as possible, could be a good reason ranger and lua lua are sticking around in the meantime.
  16. stream?? Good experience for the bairns, hope they enjoy it and play well.
  17. Kevin looks to be eyeing the trophy up for his tea. "Please God, tell me this thing is made out of chocolate...." How come now Williamson involvement? Did he pick up a knock at the weekend, surely better than Perch?
  18. Sicko is pretty close. We do desperately need decent wing cover too. We will be getting a LB, if hughton didn't rate kadar there in the championship and got cover in, we will be doing the same now. I think we are still after a striker, surely one of best or xisco have to be moved on if we do, I think the options are still open on that one with ranger and best looking ok and xisco looking determined to stay. Let's hope not. An attacking cm would be nice, might well get someone that can play both in the centre or out wide like cleverley. Or a pacey striker that could also play AM. A good DM would be great but I think the other positions are more pressing and hughton is happy with either barton/guthrie deep or smith. I think we are still after those three but time will tell.
  19. Lets be fair, even if it was true its hardly a bid deal. The club has a blueprint for they type of players we bring in, Campbell isnt just borderline he is way off the chart so I would see it as a good sign the board level actually cares. Whilst Hughton should have complete control, the powers that be certainly has the right to check the with the manager to see if he is sure. I'd question whether bringing Campbell in rather than a young up and coming talent would be the right decision. Hughton however knows Campbell very well, knows what he brings to the table etc.. Nothing article trying to stir up a storm in a tea cup.
  20. To answer the second (merged) question. No. Whilst I wouldn't be unhappy to have him back here, I don't want him back, there must be better younger options, that won't cause bellamy like disruption in the squad..
  21. Was Bougherra the guy that was constantly linked with us the past 3 summers, each time he said we would be a backwards step? Will probably get him this time! Be a decent signing if the price is right, can cover in midfield too right?
  22. Hughton on reports we are retaining Nicky Butt in a player/coaching role?
