KK resigns - see OP for new club statement issued September 6th

To be honest, this time, I think the majority of the country are on our and Keegan's side, and see that he has in reality been pushed to it. I think everyone, fans and outsiders alike, knew what the set-up was for months though. If he really is doing this out of principle, he should have done it months ago. I think Keegan was going places with that squad this season, and Milner out for Xisco & Gonzalez wouldn't have affected that too much. There's managers in the lower leagues, out of jobs, etc. who'd do give anything to have an £8m Spanish Under-21 international handed on a plate to them on deadline day, and yet Keegan's walked away from it again. Shame. I still think something has happened on Sunday/Monday with regards to trying to sell players behind his back. That coupled with the Milner thing will have pushed him over the edge. I honestly don't think Keegan had a problem with the setup until his little rant after the Chelsea game. They had their meeting, sorted the differences, but on a number of occasions throughout the summer the problems have resurfaced until KK decided it was time to go. I agree with you 100%. I think there was something that happened...but it happened. Keegan could have easily stayed, and done things in private behind the scenes, and cleared the air before January's window. He could have even walked out in a week or so if he was that p*ssed off. But to do what seems to be a runner the morning after the transfer window closed, is hardly enough time to iron out any differences, and I think it was very rash. It's difficult to say without knowing the details. What is obvious though, is that Keegan is right to stick to his principles. There is no point sticking around and us getting a different Keegan. If altering his control on transfers or anthing else he originally agreed to changes the effectiveness of how he does the job then he is right to go and we have to find someone that can work within the system we want. The new managerial appointment and the Hull game cant come soon enough for me. Hopefully then we can just get back to supporting the team. -
nah, he will be gone this time. FINALLY! I expect Hughton to stick around though.

If I could find a fucking bookies in Canada I would put a wad of money on it.

FACTS at the end of the day. Whilst I have no problem with people protesting/boycotting, its their chosen right. I pray they dont take it into the ground for the hull game. The only thing to gain from it will be Hull picking up the three points. Lets get behind the team, fuck the rest of them and do what we do best. The board are going to have to do a hell of alot more than their best to turn this around. -

Agree with that, although Im fuming at the board for letting it come to this. Cant see us getting anyone big in. Marcelino, Poyet or Martinez look like good bets. Depressing as hell. On the upside. Finally the end of Terry Mac! Would expect Hughton to stick around though. -

Shambles. My week is getting worse by the day. -
More importantly Kadar will be back soon too. Can see the Hungarian featuring for the first team should Enrique be out too long.
-
Marcelinho would be running here if given the oppurtunity "apparently''.
-
Kadar, Krul, Lua Lua, Tozer and Baheng looked good last year. Zamberla should start getting settled this season, hopefully he can improve. Ranger seems to be getting rave reviews, he did a Southampton too but blew it down there. Not sure about Danquah and as mentioned Edgar is ever looking a championship player, we should be loaning him come January if we get proper cover for the first team in. Johnnypd has a valid point about the players development though. That should be something Money and Wise will fix, should be.

I cant buy the press "facts" that Keegan knew nothing about Xisco or Gonzalez, considering he confirmed we were already far down the line with two deals last Friday and two deals were what we got. Granted they might not have been players Keegan knew a whole lot about but surely these were the two he was talking about. So whilst they might be our transfer teams signings rather than Keegan he must have been happy with it. Or are the press assuming the two keegan thought were far down the line fell through and these two were none of the remaining 3 we were in talks with. If thats the case he has a right to be pissed of we didnt get one out of five. As for the other three, speculatively: Malouda - scuppered by Robinho moving to Man City Atouba - Seemed to stick two fingers up leaving us rushing to find someone else, with Warnock bids repeatedly rejected. Zayatte - Might be wise and co fucked this one up over wages, or maybe Zayette just wanted guarenteed first team football at Hull The Selling Barton/Smith etc theory seems more likely. Find it impossible that we put the whole squad up for grabs, plenty of players would have left had this been the case. -

Hard to know what has gone on and until keegan brings out another book we might not even know. From the outside it seems harsh to get rid of both Wise and Jimenez. There is however nothing to say Vetere wasnt responsible for all the transfers with Wise and Jimenez doing nothing noteworthy. For me I cant see why they cant re-work their roles. I think Wise's role certainly has to be changed. Keegan - 1st team Needs complete control and trust in who he wants coming in. That doesnt mean Vetere/Jimenez cant find players and suggest them to him. Wise- Youth/reserves Should relinquish any roles that cross over with Keegan, should work under keegan if required. In charge of getting players on the young promising side, provided Keegan approves. Vetere/Jimenez Head Scouts that work under Wise/Keegan as necessary. Will be interesting to see what happens, i am convinced whatever the outcome it will be for the best of the club. Regardless of what they might or might not have done the three amigos have brought in what looks like a great set of players so far. Whilst it looks like Keegan is for most part in the right in this I cant help but think if he wasnt a growing Shearer like untouchable status surrounds him, rightly so but no man is bigger than the club and if he decided to walk, we will move on. -
Maybe take Appiah on a pay as you play contract. Not sure he would fancy it though tbh. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11662_4091370,00.html Dont think any of them would be any use. Fortune would provide cover but he is shit.
-
Rather see investment alongside ashley ala QPR.

appiahs body is supposed to be fucked. That said so is woodgates, but he doesnt seem to be having too many problems. Was one of my favourite players a couple of seasons ago. Would like us to take a look.

Personally, I see it as 2 separate issues. ( 1 ) Whether the trio warrant sales? ( 2 ) Whether the manager's authority should be respected? Henceforth, even though the trio warrant sales, the manager's authority / opinions must still be respected. You are right, but what if premise 1 and 2 clashes i.e. what if the manager wants to keep all three but the Board wants rid. Do you then support premise 1 or stick with premise 2 because you can't have both if KK really wants to keep all three. Different people will give you different answers, I'm more leaning twoards selling all three (Milner for 12 million) provided there are replacements ready even if it means KK's authority will be undermine in this particular instance. If KK thinks we should keep the three despite promised of replacements, then I simply think he has got it wrong and seriously question his judgement. If the reason that he wants to keep them is because he has not been promised any replacement, then he is right and I support him. It cant ever be anything but 2) If it is then you have no respect but more importantly no faith in the man you are supposed to be backing. You obviously come try and head for a compromise with selling at least one of the 3. But really the board should be trusting the man they appointed. Sounds a bit like pondering over whether you should cheat on your missus or not. You might end up not doing it out of morals, but to be honest if you wanted to do it isnt there something wrong with your relationship to begin with? I think most people would go with premise 1. But thats just because its a no brainer. Smith is shit, Barton (whilst i'd like to keep him) is a liability easier cut loose and Milner for 12m is too good to turn down. -
Great email, shame its to be ignored. More emails that talk sense like this one should be sent in rather than with expletives thrown around every corner. To be fair you can just cut Sky Sports and insert any rag and send it off to the lot of them.

Pretty sure he walked, whether he turns back or keeps walking is now the question. -
Apologies if its already been posted, couldnt see amoungst the shitting of pants, euphoric fear and madness that has rightly enveloped the board today. http://sport.setanta.com/en/Sport/News/Football/2008/09/02/Prem-Bassong-exclusive-over-KK-and-debut/ Comments more fitting a senior player than a youngster. Glad he is loving life though.

Nile Ranger for player manager! -
Those guys are going to look so silly when Ashley and Keegan walk out holding hands with a very scared Saviola following them.
