Everyone is accepting the fact he deserves to leave and go on to bigger and better things. Personally I'd love to see him go to Arsenal. That said as soon as it was mentioned with Man City's involvement I would truly bite hands off for Johnson and maybe Onouha and a little cash. Given was fantastic again today, but he deserves so much better and I have no doubts Harper would fill the void. I also dont think it would have the imploding impact in the dressing room as people think. We have alot of quality in Goal Keeping reserve, so it might upset Duff/butt or owen, big deal, the latter two will more than likely leave soon anyway. If Harper was playing week in week out and doing his normal sterling job it would'nt take more than a season to have his name sky rocketed and hyped up. Its a good deal worth taking, in a similar vein to selling Andy Cole, (albeit spurring us to stay up rather than push up to the top) a deal with johnson, onouha could add more to our squad over the next couple of years than keeping Given.

Valencia raped the shit out of us that game. Like most recently we spurned any chance we had then lowered our kegs the minute we conceded. Bruce would be as good an appointement as we could manage right now, IF we stay up and someone how sneak into the Intertoto he might consider us, in turn I might dig into my pocket to consider him.

We have ten days to regroup before we play next, i would think we will sit it out until the end of the week, see how the two loanees and lovenkrands work out, see if we get any further with anyone else then start panicing a few days before the window closes.

Not going to happen. nice notion though.

Lambias is the chairman he is the guy in charge and not getting things done. come back mort.

Ashely out? great what then, no one wants to buy. kinnear out? what the hell happens then? no one signs during the window, no one wants to manage us, we will get worse than kinnear. wise out? seems as always to be the only guy doing his job. lambias out? now we are talking.

Blackburn have easily been the worst team I have seen us play this season. They were fucking running into each other in the first half. Kinnear will get the majority of the stick, but its the useless fuckers upfront that couldnt hit a barn door that have cost us AGAIN. Had we stuck away even a couple of our first half chances it would be completely the opposite. Stupid refereeing and shit finishing has cost us today.

Fuck me what an absolute shambles. Ashley needs to sort his fucking employees out. complete disgrace.

Blackburn look a complete mess, we should have taken our chances, spurrened a bucket load again. Wouldnt be suprised to see us come out complacent and conceed a silly goal or two in the second half. Should be three points here, no doubt, except I have a niggling feeling we will struggle to pull off a draw!

Kinnear offered 2.5/3.5 year contract extension

Sets it up perfectly so people will be jumping through hoops when Shearer takes over in the summer or autumn. -
Yep. I'd be pleased if it was him. Seems highly likely. I had hoped for Burdisso but that was a fools dream. Not convinced he would be any use to us at all with the age he is and fitness, but we shall see, certainly would have taken him a couple of years ago, infact I wanted him to come here a couple of years ago. That said the figure given for the loan fee is stupidly high for someone thats nearly 33 and hasnt been playing regularly.

He needed a run out 11 vs 11 before we decided on him. Looks like he will be definatlely be with two more trying to impress though. St. James' Park awaits the arrival of two new signings on loan next week, according to boss Joe Kinnear. The Toon gaffer has revealed that the club will host a behind-closed-doors friendly in which Danish trialist Peter Løvenkrands, and the two mystery men will participate in a bid to earn contracts to sign for the Tyneside club. "We will have them (the potential loan signings) behind closed doors in a training game on Tuesday to see if they come up to scratch because we haven`t actually seen them play," he revealed. "One of them had a long-term injury and I want to see how his fitness is.' "Peter will take part in the game too and we will decide on him after that," added Kinnear. The two mystery loan signings are the subject of a wide array speculation with Kinnear revealing only their nationalities: an Argentine, and an Italian. And yes I know i should probably ban myself for using an article from Vital Football, but they do at least use quotes from Kinnear.

The flip side to the whole spin that it helps transfers is that we might miss out on a few players that were thinking of signing in the knowledge we would be replacing Kinnear in the summer with someone decent. Or is that a little too negative?
