  1. http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/sport/122060/NEWCASTLE-2-WEST-HAM-2.html Cant see him being up to much if he's been released and the likes of Hull and Birmingham dont even fancy him. Havent really seen anything of him, he has scored alot in Scotland but not many strikers playing for Celtic or Rangers dont.
  2. Was the pick of the midfielders, although Guthrie had another good game, some fantastic spreading passes. Needs a proper partner though.
  3. Going to keep praising him after each match, have to make the most of it whilst this form lasts! Fantastic again today, on the ball and off it. Might have some problems keeping hold of him at this rate. Fantastic pro off the pitch too for being so young, always says the right things.
  4. Thought Bassong looked even better on the ball that colo today, skinned a couple of hammers players. Would certainly like to see Colo moved to DM though. Problem is that means Edgar coming into the team with him or Taylor moving to CB. Rather not see that happen. Now if we can bring a decent CB in to play with Bassong...
  5. I was on the edge of my seat, it was like he won the bloody grand national. I was impressed.
  6. I agree but his passing is very very inconsistent at the moment. I'm not sure why, maybe it's confidence because generally, last season, his passing wasn't as erratic and volatile as it has been this season. In the short-term, he can be a liability. But, he's still young and it's his first full season in the Premiership so I believe he will get better in time and if confidence is shown in him now, it will be rewarded. Erratic is the right word, he certainly can pass and even cross the ball well when he wants to, but much like butt has complete shockers and they are always the simple passes. Its a big worry because it happens too much in our team and it is costing us, if we are not punished we usually end up giving away a free kick trying to win it back. That said I completely agree with Sicko, Enrique does not get out paced, he does not get out-muscled, he is a solid left back, young and only going to improve, he has all the attributes to be a top class left back but does need competition and a bit of sheltering imo. There is much he needs to improve on but its worth giving him the time.
  7. the mackems I know seem to think they're getting M'Bami like Mbami's agent made it up. Mackems have denied evening knowing who he was. Not going there. Good news on Smith... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1111666/Middlesbrough-boss-Southgate-believes-talk-Smith-around.html?ITO=1490 No quotes as per usual, but lets pray its true. Would put the Boyd rumours to bed aswell.
  8. I dont particularly like booing, i wouldnt ever do it. but i can understand why people did it, its not as if the club is going to do anything about his behavior.

    Jonas Gutierrez

So much better on the left. stick nzog in for geremi and keep butt on the bench for hull.
  10. Should have buried that earlier chance. thought he had a great game, as much as i would have liked xisco to have played he wouldnt have been close to carols performance.
  11. Looked sharp again today. we have to keep him here at least until the summer.
  12. definately agree. replacing kinnear has to happen. but at the end of the season. we need consistency right now, a new manager could cause more problems than not regardless of who it is. should we stay up we will have much more interest and choice of managers in the summer.
  13. Great game played very well from both sides. draw unfortunately not good enough, it was all we deserved. would like to see us starting vs hull with the line up we finished with.
  14. Absolutely pathetic. again. its a fucking suprise to see us play well these days.
  15. Carol has done well but how his directional heading can be so woeful is beyond me. everyone has played well. set pieces uber terrible though. deserve to be winning.
  16. How old is he now? About 29 ish IIRC. Old (ish), out of form, not liked by fans, probably a high earner, i can see Everton selling for cheap, however i wouldn't pay more than £2m for him, and that would get less each window due to age. Big gamble. Funny how it comes round full circle. Scored alot of goals in the championship, but thats probably because he has found his level.
  17. Pretty much a non story then! I guess the upside with the likes of Beattie and Ferguson is that they are low cost older players that could be sold off easily enough to championship clubs at the end of the season IF we get a new manager. Buying younger players to long term deals would be harder to shift when they turn out to be flops. The downside is the words 'If we get a new manager'.
  18. Seems strange, why cut his options. The whole point in him staying until the end of the season was to assess his options. Pretty sad if its true, when we could have cashed in on him now. I'd much rather that happened than get nothing for him in the summer.
  19. He and Donaldson are more likely to get minutes than Xisco.
  20. If thats true, I wouldnt rule the move out, albeit at the end of the month. Nedum Onuoha would be a solid addition, not a leap up in improvement but a good squad player with stacks of potential ahead of him. PSG would be a great move for him though, depends how much he fancies uprooting
  21. In theory thats all he should be doing though, he already said he has given the list of players to Wise and he is doing the rest. I dont think he is really in the loop anyways.
  22. Is what the majority of fans are hoping for. This window was never supposed to be about selling, we had a piss weak squad to begin with. 3/4 decent additions to the squad would put us back on track. I would be over the moon if we get 4 and no-one leaves. Someone how doubt either will happen.
  23. Off to City in the morning then!
