I should hope so! He will be fine, very much looking forward to seeing him playing for us.

Other clubs' transfer deadline day discussion

Any club and player needs competition for places. Other than the fact they are decidely suspect anyways, Baba and Carr would have played alot better had they had another player pushing them for the starting line up. Spurs obviously need a LW, but both Lennon and SWP's could play and swap during the game ala Duff/Robben a few years back, and as MJ says, it would be a good kick up the arse for Lennon. -
...And Viduka isnt capable of waddling over to the corner fast enough for it to be effective.

From .co.uk Looks like we were actually legitimately after him. Seems like Sam is having an "everythings going wrong, Im depressed and everyone hates me" kinda day!
-
True, but so was elbowing the keeper in the head to knock the ball out of his hands so you can tap it in!

I wouldn't be shocked if Spurs cashed in. His ability to put a decent cross in has always been questioned, his desire to improve it seems to be dwindling. Also looks like Mido will go to Boro if the two clubs can agree how the fee should be paid............ His ability to put in a cross wasn't questioned by Spurs fans 6 months ago when he was world class and taking over from Beckham in the England side Probably wont be next week either, after SWP's turns them down in favour of a big money move back to Man City or alike. -
You can imagine the lads gathered around awaiting the charging opposition, huddled in the corner. "Give them nothing... but take from them... EVERYTHING!!" It would be pretty funny. Could be something like this though: 'Subject to the terms of Law 12, a player may pass the ball to his own goalkeeper using his head or chest or knee, etc. If, however, in the opinion of the referee, a player uses a deliberate trick while the ball is in play in order to circumvent the Law, the player is guilty of unsporting behaviour. He is cautioned, shown the yellow card and an indirect free kick is awarded to the opposing team from the place where the infringement occurred.' ? murky area. In what way is holding the ball in the corner of the pitch and time wasting sporting? Hard to differentiate unsporting behaviour and tactics.. or are they just the same alot of the time?

Dodgy ground, I dont like the rule, whilst its good when your doing it, its bloody frustrating on the flip side and just adds more uncertainty to an already increasingly confusing set of rules for referee's to try and keep. Same as keeping the ball by the corner flag and wasting time, amoung other little ploys that our now common tactics of the game.

Strange one indeed. -
Be careful, you will be shot down for making snide remarks. It doesnt matter that it could go in any number of other related threads when you can start a new one. I chose the second option mind.

Sticky Vickys heed is gonna pop any second. Smithers, release the funds..

Not much blame can be apportioned to Bridge if someone comes along and snaps his f****** ankle though, is there? Unlucky? Yes. Injury prone 'perma-crock' ? No. Well if he hadnt been so committed.... Thats not the point, Im not agreeing with the 76 year old, im just saying it matters not, even if it was his fault, the injury happened. The injury then left him unlucky (yes), and for a good while after injury prone, which is still obviously debatable now.

Whats all this? Realism, reverse phsycology or both?

blueyes.gif Tbh, its one of the reasons i dont post much on here in the summer. Its mainly a load of "we're signing player x, oh no we're not, yes we are cos The Sun said it." Yawn. Its that mental toture thing some people seem to kinda like though. Each to there own, easy to see why you steer clear. Its easy to go mad. Personally I enjoy the speculation part to a point, yet cant stop myself from looking even though im fed up to the teeth of it.
-
Doesnt matter whose fault it was, it has still left him with a question mark over continued fitness. I think he is over the worst of it, but you cant ever be sure. We could sign Heinze or Baines and they could get a freak incident on the training pitch, Heinze has also suffered on the Injury front, and unlike Bridge is yet to come back to his best form.

coz mort is connected innit, i mean inhe!
-
Dont think he is particularly interested in moving here, Manure would probably sell him to us over Liverpool if he did though. Italy or Spain beckons I think.
-
There is surely only any point for Geremi to be there, Rozehnal and Barton have both had one havent they? And Vidukas not even here.
-
Ignore who?

Difference between Young and Quedrue for me, is that the latter was an excellent player at Boro. Young for me I have Never rated as anything above average. Solid enough for backup and better than Carr - tick But not a great improvement on what we already have, although SHOULD be better defensively than Geremi and Solano, isnt close to being as good going forward. We have had an excellent summer as it is, ive wanted new full backs here for years and its a part of the pitch that should have been addressed years ago, but if we ended up with Quedrue and a CB that can play at right back I wont be too upset for now. We need better, but it will improve Babayaro and Carr to actually have competition. Regardless of the mindset/attitude a player might have, being able to come to training everyday/matchday knowing you will get picked regardless will always de-motivate you.
-
Because they have been oh so reliable so far.

God didnt realise he was that old. Wouldnt be upset if we signed him, but I dont think there is a need, we could probably do better now.
