Good job, just what we needed. We need to calm the fuck down though the majority of our passing is woeful, I'm sure thats exactly what Kinnear is telling them though. We show the opposition WAY too much respect but nerves are unavoidable given our current form and situation. A quick third after the break and we can relax a bit and start enjoying it. Some great work when we are not messing it up, looks good for the future though if we can just get the confidence to relax a bit and enjoy our football.

Given, Beye, Taylor, Colo, Enrique, Jonas, Barton, Butt, Duff (N'Zog), Ameobi, Martins For me. Need to keep Taylor and Colo consistent through the rough times if we really want to build them up together, Enrique in for Bassong, he offers more coming forward I believe JFK thinks so too given the evidence of his subbing on Saturday, we will have the home support and will look to go attacking so dropping Bassong wouldnt upset me. I dont have much time for Butt although I think Guthrie isnt quite there yet and right now we need as much experience as we can get. Im undecided on Duff although I think he has more bottle than N'Zog who would work much better in a team with confidence. We need to go get the three points and build some confidence.

Can't hurt to venture some qualified thoughts - you weren't over the moon, I take it. I was pretty happy with him, myself. Barely put a foot wrong but I'm feeling a little uneasy about the hype of our new players on very little evidence (other than Coloccini who I think is proven class), simply because when they underperform slightly or make one rick, that then gets pushed to the other extreme and they're s***/not adapting/not developing/whatever. So you're not saying he looks possibly good now so that you can take the moral high ground when someone starts saying he looks bad if/when he makes a mistake? That approach never bloody works, man, it won't be remembered - might as well just go with the flow No I just think making any judgement of a Premier League centre half against a poor Championship side is inevitably going to be flawed and people inevitably build themselves up for disappointment. He played very well tonight and that's as much as anyone can say. I think some of the stuff written about Jonas and Guthrie has been daft too. They've both looked quality but it's what they do season after season that matters and I think a lot of people will end up disappointed because early on, everyone judges a player as a whole over a couple of games. If Michael Owen has a shitter, no-one mentions it and it's not a problem because he won't next week because he's a good player and has been for a long time. If Jonas has a shitter next week or Coloccini makes an error that costs us a goal, it'll be panic stations on here (OH NO THEY WON'T ADAPT!) and it's ridiculous. Thought I'd bump this on the back of the slagging that Kinnear, Bassong and Guthrie are getting. Build 'em up, knock 'em down. Tbh.

bet they feel so stupid when the cant afford the bus ride home. mind you thats suggesting they could in the first place.

Cant begrudge the scum that one. They deserved all three points. Complete role reversal of years past, one team capable of playing sharp, quick, effective attacking football and another pumping the ball down the opposite and an running around like donkeys with a slapped arse. Dissapointing effort from the lads, effort might be harsh as they did try working hard but left their brains in the SJP dressing room. Good to have Jonas and Barton back in the fold on few of the positive points of a gloomy miserable day.
