N'Zogbia: Lyon interested according to agent
toontownman replied to TêteDeMaure's topic in Football
Can see him leaving in January. Rather he stuck it out to the summer though. -
Newcastle United vs Liverpool - 28/12/08 - Pre Match Thread
toontownman replied to Decky's topic in Football
Probably the best we could put out, would like to see xisco in but Carrol will be gee'd up by today and xisco would have too much expectation. Given Geremi Taylor Colo Zog Duff Cacapa Guthrie Jonas Martins Carrol Likely to see: Given Edgar Taylor Colo Zog Jonas Butt Guthrie Duff Owen/martins (if owen is knackered) Carrol Wouldnt be suprised to see Lua Lua get some pitch time. Wouldnt also be suprised to see Owen and Martins miss out and Geremi coming into midfield for 4-5-1 with Carrol up on his own -
West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll

Rather see Xisco given a chance tbh. Carrol has never done much for me when I have watched him, poor mans stretched Chopra. -
Will have learnt a lesson today for pulling players shirts and holding hands like a girl. Still looking like a cracking player in the making though, will be missed on Sunday that is for sure.

I bloody hope so. Not convinced though, we should have at least one new CM to pick from after January though.
-
Well you probably wont see it again. both will be out for Liverpool. Viduka probably wont play again this season by the time he gets semi fit then we will see both leave in the summer.
-
Need to be careful and get in the neccasary players for CM in January. Guthrie looks a great talent but he can so easily get burnt out. A stand out season this year will see a majority of our fan base expect much more next season when he NATURALLY might just struggle to repeat what he does this year. I'm pretty excited by his potential though, looks good and is worthy of his starting position right now. I pray we just get the players and staff to help his progression.
-
Good god we need to get rid of him. I would say I dont mind keeping him around the place as he is a good pro, but that actually offers the chance he might get another game for us. In the position we are in we just dont have time for 1 great game in 5, where he will then consistently give the ball away and conceed silly fouls. Our squad needs so much tinkering its frightening. We will be lucky to get the tip of the iceberg by February which may just be too late.

Confidence player lacking any to make him look at least average. Duff will only start to look good in a team of better confident players to work around him and bring the best out of him. He doesnt have the legs or skill anymore to create space for himself or the team. We dont have anyone else capable of making that space in the team leaving our midfield and strikers suffocated game after game. Just wont work with the team we have and he isnt good near good enough to carry it. Best getting rid in January. Expect him to work nicely at Celtic where he has a lower calibre of opposition to make him look good, lets pray they might be interested in doing business.

Sam Allardyce signs 3-year contract with Blackburn Rovers
toontownman replied to a topic in Football
Curbishley for blackburn i reckon. -
Will be interested to see the eventual outcome, i dont think its a bother either way. can see him being interested in spurs, man city seems obvious for wages. cant see him going anywhere else. would be a canny gamble by arsenal or manure though.

Kinnear, RE: Owen -- "I Don't Know What's Going to Happen"
toontownman replied to a topic in Football
Kinnear in denying powers to see into the future, shocker? He is all talk much like the past five managers we have seen. His best trick is going to be the january window when he pull mick harford out of his arse. -

Mind you there is an 80% chance kinnear doesnt know what's going to happen. -

No need for that, we know ashley has enough money to entice Frank Clarke into taking over until the end of the season, he is a geordie icon of course, makes sense. -

This x10. Cant highlight any better how we need 2 decent CM players in January. Geremi, Jonas, N'Zogbia, Butt - cant play well enough for us in central midfield. Pathetic second half display, JFK needs to pull his nose out MO's arse and realise he will sign with any club that will pay his wages in January rather than stay here. Taking Oba off was another coco the clown decision. On an up point N'Zog looked good. -
Sunderland appoint Steve 'I bleed black and white' Bruce as new manager
toontownman replied to cp40's topic in Football
Big Sam nailed on IMO. Not overly bothered by that either he isnt any better than Kinnear, both all talk but will get their sides fired up for a few games. Phil Browns got a decent set up there, I dont think he would walk out on them this season. -
Is this thread the Holby city to The N-O Heavyweight Championship: NE5 Vs. The WORLD Thread's casualty? maybe there should be a board for board bored banter?

The FA Cup: Hull/Newcastle v Millwall, Sunderland v Blackburn
toontownman replied to Nobby's topic in Football
Dont fancy our chances, but lets see what january brings. -
Better off staying away certainly right now. if he turns up for the stoke game im in no doubt the majority would accept him, however it only takes a couple of twats with a banner or trying to have a pop and the rest of the ground will be distracted and we will be in danger of throwing more points down the drain.

Still no.

Going to disturb them as much as they were wondering what they were getting for tea tonight. They are paid professionals not 10 year old girls despite how a couple of them play.
