How long before we see "Sams not fanni-ng about" in the tabloids.
-
Seems like alot of money but like you say, not an isolated occasion of paying over the odds. For NRC and Aston Villa its make or break really, he has been kicked out of West Ham, if he fails at Villa thats it for him IMO, cant see Villa even recouping half the cost. Could work well if they play 4-3-3, with Barry and Petrov. Agbonlahor, Carew and Young upfront, is pretty good stuff too. Defence is fragile though and they are really lacking depth, like us needs alot of players coming inwards to swell the squad.

Its funny id always pick Baba to stay ahead of Carr. Maybe because Babayaro seems less of an Arse than Carr, has less of a please punch me face. In reality they are as bad as each other. whilst baba is the quieter of the two though at least Carr is likely to show emotion, I think he actually knows when he is playing shit. Get rid of both if possible.
-
Happy to take those three names, although I think we still need two players capable of playing Left back, can we trust Babayaro to be fit when Bridge is inevitably injured?
-
Its the fact my mrs thinks he looks like Mr T. He doesnt really but i cant help myself!

Like 1878 rightfully says, your talking £10m at least just to get Moyes thinking. He is part of the Everton Core, you wont get him, Yobo, Arteta or even the likes of Cahill and Johnsen for less. They are happy there, why should everton take less? On the flip side it would be madness to bid that high. Id take Lescott over Yobo personally, just like the look of him.
-
eh? Its code for Wes Brown flying over from his holiday to sign for us.
-
Not that name.
-
Hehe. Yeah, no-one can complain when you move somewhere that wins trophies. I dont think he has moved on at all as a player though, maybe as you say because he plays more defensive. He just seems more shaky alot of the times Ive watched him this season.
-
I think that Cole has become more defensive at Chelsea and instead of going down the wings like he did at Arsenal, he now prefers to hit that diagonal ball to Drogba. Still, he is the best left-back in the world. I think Bridge is the best left-back in the world. He would be the signing of the summer imo. Much, much better than Baines. All Baines has over Bridge is youth. Which one of your personalities am I talking to here?

Worst career move Ashley Cole made joining chelsea, like a few of his teamates, has gone backwards. Still a great player mind.

Liverpool are in the position we would like to be in, they have a solid squad that can consistently push top four, they dont need wholesale changes. With the money they now have invested, they can afford to go out and make three world class signings. Torres IS one of those. You can argue he might not adapt or he might no have lived up to full potential yet, but he is a fantastic player, that any club would love to have. Like Liverpool, im happy to hold out on the big money signings until we are at a place that we can cope with it and really need it to get to the next level. Liverpool are a bit tight and restrictive to what Benitez would wish, but id much rather we were like them than West Ham.

Cant actually see Viduka starting every game either, but we shall see.
-
If the Big Sammy Baby is thinking about Dyer for a Right Wing Back role I dont see why N'Zogbia wouldnt be considered for the opposite side. Personally I wouldnt want either in those roles, but it might work. HOME: Given Geremi Taylor Rozehnal Baba Dyer Barton Emre/N'Zog Owen Martins/Luque Viduka AWAY Given Geremi Taylor Rozehnal Baba Butt/New DM Barton Emre Owen Milner/duff Viduka All these formations will change when we have finished our spending though.

Still be scrapping to avoid relegation like.

Think it'll be a weak Prem next season, loads of relegation candidates I think most people would have said the same last season. Except Reading threw a few suprises out, Sheffield United and Watford were no stronger than Derby or the Scum. With a growing trend of clubs being taken over and spending money like chavs winning the lottery, better players will emerge at worse clubs. Whilst it wont improve the stature of the game off the pitch, the league will attract even more of the worlds best. I think there will be a bigger gap between the bottom 5 or 6 clubs and the rest of the league but on the whole the standard will be getting higher and higher overall.
-
Another fantastic coup for the premiership (And the scousers), shame we lost Henry but the standard of the league will be imense next year and ever improving imo.
-
Should be an interesting read.

With Kev, would much prefer baines. Certainly not turning my nose up at bridge though if we can get him, great player. Just rather we bought a Left back whose career was on the up not coming down. would be slightly troubled by his injury history aswell, but im sure whomever we bring in we could nit pick the flaws.

Nugent going to Pompey, bid accepted. Set to talk to them today. Pompey should be a top ten staple for the next couple of years. Wonder if this means they have dropped their interest in Yakubu. Seeing as they are both very different players, maybe not.
-
Papers seem to reckon he is replacing McCarthy, cant see him leaving though. He would be a good addition to the Arsenal team, but wouldnt come cheap (that said, like bellamy probably has a release clause around 5m), cant see Chelsea going for him now they have Pizarro. Reminds me too much of Saha for Manure to go for him.

The summer gets even better! - Pattison hands in transfer request
toontownman replied to Leazes1986's topic in Football
Suprised he has requested a move given how much clark and the backroom staff love him. At his age he will want to be getting games though, and there is no chance of that happening here next season. Loan deal would work, selling him would be even better. -
A third of Bolton backroom staff mysteriously hand in notice
toontownman replied to NSG's topic in Football
Best opening day fixture we have had in years, will be real spice in the game and an electric atmosphere. Gutted im not going to be around for it! As for the staff as much as we would love Speed back at the club, he is an honourable man and wont walk from Bolton unless pushed, if anything he owes the club for the coaching oppurtunity. Can even see him in the running for the managers job after Sammy Lee leaves. -
Like the look of Beye, coupled with Geremi, Solano, Milner and Dyer we would have our Right side finally sorted. If we can shape the left side in the same way things will look great.

How can anyone believe an article saying Owen wants to stay, when a few lines later it states Mourihno wants Dyer?
