Needs aclimatising into the position, but looks very assured, I would be tempted to keep him there. Problem is, he doesnt want to play there, he wants carr to play there, likewise Roeder would rather play Carr.

absolutely, great battling and work ethic, but his good passing was nulified by his poor and sloppy ones. Needs to get back on the score sheet. Completely different to last season when he constantly drove forward when on the ball, now he stops to assess where he is going and generally ends up going backwards. In effect we are still lacking an attacking midfielder. -

Typical performance, except this time we got all the luck in the world. Plus points. Nicky Butt was awesome, Solano and Emre were very impressive aswell. With Taylor doing well on the whole. We kept possesion and passed the ball well at times. Minus point Ramage got torn to shreds as did solano at times. but the latter was positionally much better. We cannot defend crosses, and at the other end of the pitch Luque was ignored on the LW. After excellent possesion we panic and smash the ball right down the field and lose the ball. We seem incapable of find the final pass, ball or any confidence in finding a shot from any part of the pitch. Overall job done. But as always room to vastly improve. But hopefully we can keep hold of the luck we had tonight because Frankfurt were good for the 3 points today. Another game and team and we would have been 4 down without a reply by half time. -
will be good to blood some of the young-uns. Roeder is talking of maybe up to four debuts! Would expect us to rest Milner/N'Zog if they arent fully recovered. Luque is definately starting. Is Alan O'brien injured?? Should make interesting watching though. Id expect Carrol, Pattison, Huntingdon and maybe Troisi to get some time though.

if barton had signed for us and was playing for us now Carr would be gods gift. Ten times more likeable than Carr but a worse defender than Ramage, albeit better coming forward. As for the order... Bernard (until his last 6months), Moore, Taylor,Dabizas,Bramble, Boumsong,Distin (before he got good), Griffin,Babayaro,Ramage, Elliot, Carr, Hughes, O'Brien, Barton. Although there isnt alot to choose between any of them really. Bramble would be top if he didnt have so many mares, probably not one that didnt look dodgy at the best of times though.

Cant really tell off one Luque performance, which by itself was barely average. Especially when it came in a 4-5-1. Duff seems to lack the end product Luque showed on bried occasions but he is better at taking players on and certainly gives alot more to the cause. Personally id like to see Luque given the run of games so we could actually have a decent comparison of the two. Neither have played particularly well so i will go with N'Zogbia just to be pedantic.

Well Urban Myth maybe but my mate swears blind he's a life long city fan and has a man city tattoo on one of his arms, and he always wore long sleeve shirts for United to hide it. That aside Butt is good cover, seems to be a good proffesional and unless we buy a decent replacement whats the point. We have so many players we already need to bring in before we can ship anyone out.

blueeek.gif http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fernando_Ricksen he will fit right in. Worse than Carr, you would think adding competition would be the best way to see Carr improve, but he isnt even good enough for that. That said he is apparently playing well for St.Petersburg.. ewww.

Nice thinking. Good Glen has realised what everyone here realised when we played Heerenveen. I will maybe forgive Glenn as he was yet to return to the club. But finger and pulse are scrambling to get together from John o groats to lands end. Smacks of unsettling both players, and im quite suprised Roeder has come out and said it considering his normal stance on talking about players that arent ours. Good player, reasonably strong but not the type of player we need to be spending stupid amounts of money on, and it would certainly be stupid amounts of money, if he was even interested.

Thats what i was thinking, apparently we have opened initial talks? http://www.clubcall.com/index.jsp?storyID=299802

Because money is no object? You could apply that to 90% of the names thrown up in this thread.

some good choices here. Tough one. Distin Micah Richards Baines Nolan/Samaras Ashton Thats a self shockingly high amount of Man city players! blueeek.gif Distin is an absolute no brainer, i will be gutted if we dont get him this January, from resenting the hell out of him for leaving and not thinking that much of him he has come of age at Man City and for me is Exactly what we need. Leadership, Power, Pace and Aerial Dominance, for quite cheap aswell. Ive seen him the past three years against us and he has got better and better. Richards - Is the best young RB around at the moment, heaps of potential and adaptable. Who wouldnt take him on if given the chance. Baines - Likewise in the left back space although not quite to the level of Richards, more potential than Bridge and a classier version of Matty taylor, cracking shot. Nolan - Cracking all round midfielder, the more attacking version of Parker would be a fine addition and work well. But the question is whether we would need another Attacking Central midfielder? or.... Samaras - Another striker.. ANOTHER CITY PLAYER blueeek.gif .Got alot of time for him, since his debut against us he looks hungry, hes strong, holds up the ball well, great in the air and has a cracking shot on him. Wouldnt get him for cheap like most of the list, but as money is no object.... Ashton - Like Samaras the type of striker that we really need to add some class and physical presence upfront. Cahill and Diop are good shouts aswell but i think we could do with Two big strong strikers rather than another midfielder where we are reasonably covered.

as Good as we have. But good enough No. Decent average squad player, so wouldnt mind him being part of the squad next year but he is heading home regardless. Wont be hard to replace.
-
Crooks is a fool, always has been. Arteta was fantastic, but i have always rated him, higher than cahill too, although they are quite different players.
-
Sorry i dont even think he is that good. Certainly not shedding tears over it. Hardly I nearly joined the Toon either. We were interested "Supposedly", even so, he would have picked either of the two scottish teams then liverpool before us if he hadnt gone to Manchester. If Pattison was playing week in and out at Manure im sure he would be just as good, he is one of the worst players at Manure.

Moore is leaving and I think we can replace him with someone more experienced that will bring much moore to the squad. Bramble is pandoras box we need to sell him if we get a decent offer in January. He is only going to work if we have someone to boss him and keep him on his toes for 90mins. There are few players around that are good enough to do that and do their own job. Id expect both Solano and Sibbers to get contract extensions, both are at the back end of their careers and will be good squad players and reasonably reliable when called on, they are both good proffesionals for the younguns to look up to aswell. So Solano and Sibbers for me, although neither should be starting by next season.

Its ok, even the real shirts the club presents important people with has the spelling wrong so I doubt anyone should care. Club set the trend in our Asia tour.

Looks like the tailor made replacement for James Milner when he leaves. Know little about him to be honest. The rumours have been busy today though. Reports in Spain suggest that Valencia defender David Navarro is thinking twice over his proposed move to Newcastle United in January.. Newcastle United and Fulham have both been linked with moves for Leicester City defender Patrick Kisnorbo. Newcastle United have been credited with an interest in Ajax left-back Urby Emanuelson, but clubcall understands they have little chance of landing him Ivory Coast international Steve Gohouri is aiming to clinch a move to Britain in the New Year. Reports claim Newcastle United and Wigan Athletic want to take the £1 million-rated defender to The Premiership. All appearing today in several places. Its only going to get worse until we reach February.
-
Well if he isnt cheap, simple go elsewhere, I dont rate him that highly but some for some of the figures being bandied around it would have been a decent deal. As long as we get Distin I will be pleased. We should look to get someone much more experienced alongside him to help Taylor/Ramage/Hunty etc through.
-
Bare minimum one RB, one LB, One CB. Ideally two RB's, two LB's, Two CB's Sell Carr, release Moore and Bramble at the end of the season if we have no offers for him in january. Distin and Upson would be reasonably reliable although Distin would be the only natural leader of the pack, god help us if he got injured. But those two would be decent and cost effective, risk-proof, replacements and improvements on Moore and Bramble. LB- Wayne Bridge, Matt Taylor, Leighton Baines would any of these actually come, get one if so. RB is a tricky one which would probably be better shopping abroad, there are the likes of Hibbert, Hunt, Neill maybe Volz here that would be adequete but we need someone better than that, both Taylor and Ramage are good enough to hold the fort until we bed someone in.
-
There looking at Laryea Kingston apparently. We keep getting linked to Defensive Midfielders, why i dont know, apparently we still want Duscher. If we really have to buy a DM, Appiah is the only man. Would be brilliant for us. Much more attack minded than Parker. Id rather we were there watching Viduka to be honest, Butt, Emre and Parker is enough for me. We need players that can attack and score goals. I do realise the irony of mentioning Viduka close to that last sentance.

We are more than likely to get two strikers, 1 on loan and try and buy one. Unless we extend Rossi's loan to the end of the season.
