  1. Nobody is telling you that you should leave your seat at a football match to grab a bite to eat or drink or take a piss. And if they do - surely you’re adult enough to not give a fuck and focus on the game. No American here has said that.
  2. they do get shifted, it happened a lot in the past. It doesn’t happen as much anymore and it when it does it generally a political battle between owner, city and it generally all has to do with stadiums. It’s nasty for sure. But the league sometimes steps in and sometimes doesn’t to be fair. I have friends who are Oakland folks who still support the Raiders in Vegas and friends who lived in St Louis and still support the Rams in LA. Some do and don’t. What I was banging on about was stuff like Bury and such - where it seems the leagues didnt protect the fans there. But it’s just as bad on reflection.
  3. I’m just wondering why you have such strong opinions about live sport fan experience in the US but have this opinion based on what you’ve seen on TV and I don’t exactly know what is irking you Sewelly. Its just a genuine question.
  4. you been to a ton of live sports in the us?
  5. As a fan of this football club who’s supported this forum on about every single level (ask the admins) who’s spent a ton of time and effort trying to follow NUFC from the mid 90s in Florida - I often find the smugness towards any American opinion as pretty childish behavior. Most of us are thankful this place exits and enjoys the chat and banter but forgive me for feeling like it’s always about European football or English football culture is the best and never needed change, and When differing opinions come about it’s always shut up capitalist Americans! It’s tiresome and sometimes hurtful.
  6. There’s a lot European football can learn from American sports - the fan experience does matter in modern times. Whether you like it or not. The accessibility and access on Tv matters. The ticket sales, resale market does. Ticket operations is about 30 years behind ours. The idea English football allows clubs to just disappear - doesn’t happen here. Fans wouldn’t have to suffer that - or another mike Ashley.
  7. If Lodi is 21m you’d sign him over Cuc all day imo.
  8. He isn’t man. Ffs. It’s literally been repeated over and over. The govt have completely stripped him of it.
  9. If you’re still talking about pyramid systems in the United States you’ve no fucking clue about how our country watches sports nor how our culture and history in our operating model. It doesn’t work in our society as much as our model doesn’t work globally. That’s life. The American owners in the PL who supported the ESL clearly don’t understand how you all value the pyramid and the institution and history as much as you don’t understand our sporting closed shop model.
  10. Glad every result has gone against us to finish top 10
  11. Best British owners in the PL imo.
  12. How do you deduce that losing mass would be the sole reason for solving his fitness? There’s potentially one or multiple contributing factors to why he didn’t make that run.
  13. @Mike is there any point? without american tv money the league wouldnt be as popular. if mike ash owned an nba team hed have been gone in 3 years, not 14. but hey its all about the mighty pyramid!
  14. Here you go. It’s been referenced often in the takeover news in your press. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/videos/2019-09-09/why-l-a-dodgers-owner-todd-boehly-wants-to-buy-a-premier-league-club-video
  15. You might want read about the man and what he said in 2019 in Bloomberg about football before making a randomly generalized view of Americans owning football teams.

    Callum Wilson

Just wait when Trip and Wilson double sub.
  17. There are literally 20 other players you'd get rid of before him ffs.
  18. Can see Big Joe being here for a long time mostly as a really good utility player capable of literally playing anywhere in midfield and attack. As it stands now he's our best ball winner and when he's on, he's unplayable.
  19. It's honestly really well done, the presentation materials are awesome. the PDF deck from the architect was cool to see (in terms of the modern black steel structure and inspiration) and then the actual high-res stuff.
  20. Having just nerded out on the files - the changes to the exterior are really class. Going to look quite sleek and modern (black steel, glazed windows) and the whole place will look different. The changes to the layout are really top too. I'm thrilled with this tbh.
  21. Looks like a full renovation and expansion of the current facilities tbh - which is great. Love the direction it is going in. The quality of the finishes will give some insight on how things will look when they renovate SJP too IMO.

    Paul Dummett

Clearly keeping him around for his leadership in the dressing room and influence amongst the lads. Seriously do see him hanging it up and just joining our coaching setup at some level. Rafa said numerous times he sees PD getting into coaching and could be a top one.
  23. Apparently the gov may consider converting the debt to equity ? which is fine by them. But that also increases the price ffs.
