Always have time for Miggy. Infectious personality and seems to adore this club.
-
Some absolute quality posts above. For all the talk about quality going forward, the intelligence to shield Justin and then spring a counter in the 95th minute is an outrageous example of awareness.
-
not a single thing cringe about walking about all four sides of the ground and clapping and thanking your fans for supporting the team - it’s our club, it’s hard earned money spent for tickets and I’d rather see the players and staff thanking the fans as often as possible than not. That type of culture hopefully is the norm and not the other way around. 3-0 win, quick and wave and off the pitch. No thanks. It’s what makes this club special when things are ticking.

Part of me thinks the ref should generally let play go on and then consult the video replay whenever in doubt versus the other way around.

The way he walked around and hugged every one of his teammates, the coaches. His obvious bond with Big Joe. The winner and the celebration after is what football is all about. Distill it all down and forget about the money, the league…it wasn’t a cup final or anything other than an importantish league match etc - it’s last minute winners after a full 90 min match, it’s the crowd singing your name and you walking around with your teammates and coaches and clapping with the fans. The kind of stuff of pure dreams. When you’re a kid playing footie, you’re not bothering about money or sponsors - you’re in the yard or street with mates pretending to do what he did yesterday.
-
while he’s not flashy in terms of bombing forward and overlapping, he makes up for it in his incredibly calm and intelligent ball retention and passing. Generally finds the right pass to keep things ticking.

Howe has nearly the same points as Viera with something like 30-33 points to play for prior to Howe getting appointed.

Shout out to Gayle for making that late run inside in the box that cleared the pathway for Bruno.

Ando’s “Auuurghhh!” Got me good
-
Same team as Sunday surely.

Had this chat with @Minhosa yesterday that with some coaching, Willock may be a really interesting option as a wide forward for us. @Hanshithispantzmentioned this as well in the bruno thread. Yesterday’s Willock cameo was exactly what he should be doing, direct and pacy attacking player.

The Malala thing has me absolutely shook. She’s such an incredible person, had no idea she was married to a Toon fan. So cool.

Feel like Kevin De Bruyne? He’s pretty rapid when he’s on the ball? Idk. Just weird way for people on this forum to try and find a fault in our best player. Tielemans is class and is not quick by any means.
-
That’s what I’ve been trying to say. You can’t just say he lacks athleticism when the only thing he seems to lack is world class speed. Ffs man. So just say “he lacks pace” instead of lacking athleticism which is a super general term and it stupidly discounts him in areas he’s fantastic at.
-
was absolutely perfect Joe Willock there. The kind of run that he did on loan. Quick move and boom he’s off - he’s faster than most with that long stride of his.
-
people cream over Tielemans and he is likely the same top end speed as Bruno.
-
you just needed to say “right, I didn’t mean his athleticism I should have said I’ don’t think he has PL standard pace” - also my point being we are on a football forum and I’d have thought people knew how to articulate a simple point between pace and athleticism.
-
By the way, Willock absolutely rinsed Tielemans for the goal.
-
his intelligence and awareness of what’s around him. Just wait until he feels comfortable to start doing his trademark aggressive dribble take ons and unleashing balls up field.
-
Nah man, he’s gotta be #2.
-
Just because you’re not fast does not mean you’re not athletic. Ffs we are on a football forum - how in the hell does that difference not get quickly identified properly? He’s got quite good pace with and without the ball, he’s not Willock or Joelinton but he’s certainly quick enough to create space for himself. On the ball it’s the quick feints and turns, he’s an all around First class talent. Our best player by some margin. His football mentality and intelligence is truly off the charts.

No revolution. Meaning we won’t replace 10 first teamers. We will replace 5-6 ?
-
The pull out news hit me so hard. Was genuinely depressed.
-
100-150m is a massive spend though

I like that he was behind schedule to now slightly ahead. So is it even now?
