If it happens, a real fucking waste of money for sure - everyone who has mentioned we spent 25M to replace HBA is spot on; HELL we could have spent 25M on a winger the first time and brought the right guy in ffs. If he indeed goes, we absolutely need to sign a couple of fucking wingers in this / next window with real pace and energy.

He's going to walk around like he fucking owns the place too

'bout the badge man?
-
Berahino has a hell of a strike on him and has good pace and strength, always thought he had really good movement and worked channels well.

Cheers Steve. Just heard from a reliable source that McClaren never wanted him, he did want Shelvey though. Fairly impressive lying to the player then. One who knew exactly about his game and was able to talk to him in detail about what he liked about him too

He's the striker I want tbh

I don't doubt Tiote in his first 2 seasons, he was a class player...he deteriorated massively since then and shows glimpses (and not often) of looking like his old self, before, classically, getting hurt and repeating the fucking process again. The sooner we field 2 or 3 proper midfielders who can contribute to both ends of the pitch or play more positive football, the better, and it appears we are finally on that track.

Nee idea why your brethren need to sing shit like that when you've won nearly everything there is to win over Sir Alex's reign.

Chest pass is the fucking best man, no idea why I like seeing big CFs do it but always looks cool

I'm mad Siem is #10 and he's not panned out, what a waste of a beautiful shirt number.

Looked very close on the replays too, just swerved a bit towards the end. Reminded me of Jonas' goal few years back. His passing was always good, and maybe our passing is just so shit now, but he seems to be playing more advanced attack-minded/starting passes as of late. I always thought he should be doing more of that. But you're right, the Sissoko ball and the Mitrovic ones were beautiful.

His performance versus Man Utd 4 years ago was some of the best DM playing I've seen out of our squad in years, i'd say Abeid last season versus City and Liverpool was up there in terms of complete control and dominance from side-to-side and up and down the pitch.

He'll enjoy the new pastures, he clearly grew disillusioned and it seems like McClaren is going to make him a crucial part of the midfield and the way we play, which for any young player with ambition will be well received. I think he'll do well here, for some odd reason, and think he'll love playing in front of the crowd at St James Park

I think it's now a bit mad to be getting rid of him at this point of the season and where we currently sit in the table, but with his lack of reliability from a fitness (and appearance) standpoint and his 1 dimensional game, the move in the big picture makes sense. Shame that he put in 2 classic Tiote performances versus Arsenal and Man Utd, but nonetheless, if it ushers in a movement of more 2 way players to play centrally for us who can contribute in not only the defensive side, ball retention, etc but also in attack. Anyway, if he's sold this window, I'll fondly remember those first 2 seasons and always wonder "what-if" had he played for a better manager.

Mitro's chest pass game is on the same levels as Jan Koller IMO

Looks fatigued. Probably the right time to play Thauvin or Aarons LW
-
The real hope is Colback gets hurt in training this week so he doesn't even feature (can't believe I just went there...that's how crap he is - that little slack dive in the box somehow made me hate him even more)
-
It was Mbemba, who then jogged back and didn't track Lingard when he came barreling down the wing.
-
He's not a create his own goal striker like Remy, he's got to get on end of chances, the few we create, and score. He's had a tough time of late but there's a tremendously powerful striker there and he needs time. He also needs to be in a team that creates and also plays well around him. The fact he bossed Smalling speaks volumes as to what he's capable of doing in this league.

Nice quotes from Saivet, wish he'd start him and Shelvey on Saturday and just went about it the right way. f***ing love Ash

it's about having the range of short and long *forward* passing so that the opposition can't completely close you down because they know you're never going to look for or have the quality to play a 50 yard pass into space for sissoko to use his pace to get onto, for example theoretically it should open up a whole new dimension to our game really as at the moment we just get pressed back and colback/anita go sideways at best or tiote will fall over or boot it out for a throw in Agreed, good post my man.
