Was unable to see the match until the 86th minute, so I was following it on twitter until then. Walking home I saw we had tied it. Got back to my hotel and accessed the fox-app to watch it from 86 onwards. Soon as Cisse received that ball I said confidently - GOAL. And he scored. The person I was with was mighty impressed with my prediction upon the trap.

Holy shit False 9!

So I was supposed to be on a plane to NYC at 1130 am EST today. And would have missed the entire match. Now I'll be flying at 1-130 PM so I can catch the first half. Get in!

Aye & injuries happen to every team eh? He's got to field either Shola (on a pitch he's been advised to steer clear of) or Adam Campbell vs Anzhi in the away leg of the final 16 of the Europa League. Or play a midfielder/winger in a central striking role? Staggering lack of depth.

I for one, would love to see him come on as a sub and help us score from a corner.

Cajun - I had written a similar post you had this morning and deleted it as I didn't want to fuel a debate that would just p*ss me off. Simply put, we had too many key players out injured for far too long in both defense and attack. Our squad depth has been been awful for ages and we've always struggled in seasons when our team has been hit by injuries b/c we've really never had the squad depth that any of our rivals have had. Our best years seem to only come when our top players are fit for most of the season. Look at the stat appearances from last season and you'll see Krul, Colo, Cabaye, and Ba/Cisse all practically played the entire season (30+ starts) and all were in terrific form for the most part. I included Cisse as the he picked up where Ba left off in terms of goals. Ben Arfa started 16 and was subbed 10 times. This season through 28 PL matches, we've not had Krul 6 times, Colo 9, Cabaye 12, and Ben Arfa 15. Other clubs seem to cope b/c they have decent enough depth to fill those voids. We don't, and we've not any resemblance of depth in quite some time. We were very fortunate that last season we grinded out results with Willo, Perch, Raylor, Guthrie, Best, and to an extent Obertan.

Nothing speaks style than a crew-v-neck.

Same could be said about the Cisse thread and a few weeks ago, the Colo thread.

Frankie Hejduk is an absolute rager. I fucking loved the guy when he played for my old defunct Tampa Bay Mutiny - the dude would do some terrible dances after he'd score
-
Need HBA face on this b/c I assume this is how he is all the time. Walking around like a fucking boss. Rightly so.

Score draw before a brilliant win at SJP under the lights.

I'd take this post over the doom & gloom that makes its way into every thread now a days

I just want us to sign another CB of quality who can compete for the role next to him and Saylor. Best 2 men get the job.

I'm all for some thoughtful analysis and its a forum where debate and difference in opinions are what drives the damn thing, but this Cisse slagging is some ridiculous shit. He scored for fun in the 2nd half of last season and has struggled this season in a struggling team. He has much to work to do - but that can be said about the rest of our squad and our manager - who for the most part have not been up to par this season.
-
He scored a few tap ins and un spectacular goals last season too - his double vs. Liverpool springs to mind. Its two-fold for him, he's clearly having a tough season and we are clearly not creating enough chances for him. Both need sorting out and he'll be fine.

Probably the first match i'll be missing in ages. I've somehow, someway found a way to see it live or have it recorded and catch it later that night. I'll be watching on my iPhone or iPad on Saturday though
-
And the fact a talentless workhorse is playing in a position responsible for creativity. Get Ben Arfa in RW and I believe we'll see an upturn in the number of chances we create instantly. Without doubt
-
Just realized I'll be on a plane to NYC and will miss this. Especially b/c I could have planned my flight around this match too.
-
There was a moment where Jonas was just looking terrible leggy - was probably the time to bring on Obertan or Marv and he didn't. I thought that would have been us trying to go for it. I thought we bounced back in the 2nd half and looked really dangerous and worked our socks off. Unlucky to not get at least a point - undone by a sloppy error in the back. Hopefully we get something in Russia and can carry it on for a home win vs. Stoke.

I thought Steven Taylor played great today, fwiw.

I'm with you man - annoys me as well.

I don't agree with this lucky to just lose by a goal stuff man. We had some very good chances to score and didn't. Up until that sloppy defending they were in practically the same boat.
