  1. You can only judge by results, and the results hardly portray them as world beaters. The opposite, actually. Agree 150% that Pardew is the problem, and he'd make a team featuring the likes of Ronaldo, Messi, Rooney and Bale into relegation candidates, but the players are NOT without blame HBA has gone backover IMHO I don't think Ben Arfa's gone backwards ability wise, he has always been a bit too greedy to be a really top player. If you are talking about his fitness then you might have a point. Since his injury he hasn't looked in the same shape as previously IMO. He was probably at his best flying all over the pitch until that Europa League hamstring. He was really getting on some real top form before then, IIRC. But he did like much quicker before the De Jong injury. I personally think we've had shit physio/training staff since Sir Bobby left. Not sure I remember who was head of those respective groups (DW has been here for eternity no?)
  2. 8 in 38 for Swansea in the league before his move suggests he knows where the net it. Knew he scored a fair amount years back, just checked - had like 19 in the Championship in 10/11 and 27 in all comps.

Numbers aren't even official yet, could change, no? 5 is vacated these days too.
  4. Glassing himself? Jesus He did that when he was at NUFC while on holiday, was in the Daily Star front page. Such a shame with Woodgate. Happens all the time in sport - players with so much talent but absolute 0 sense to make something of it or look about themselves to show for the opportunity and skill that people absolutely dream about. Pisses me off. I'll just say Rio > Sol and leave it there. None of the other in the list are fit enough talent wise or played enough to prove that wrong. But will note that Sol at his best wasn't far off Rio in my opinion.

Really wish this bastard would be fit for Man City.
  6. We've had our best matches when we've pressed well and high up the pitch. I remember that Stoke away or Man Utd home the 5th place season and even Gary Neville was speaking so highly of how we executed the team/organized press to perfection.
  7. Roma's in-house unbranded kits (rumored to be asics for this year) are absolutely taking the piss. Brilliantly retro. Those stylish Italians know what's up, just picture them giving full kit designing/approval to Totti
  8. Jack Butland Tom Ince, Scott Sinclair... Had high hopes for Josh McEchran but not sure if he'll develop into a PL standard player. We've had a dry spell of talent coming through our ranks which is probably something we've done 5-10 years ago; hopefully we'll see improvement on that end.
  9. In the past, when we clashed we'd wear the white socks, which I actually quite liked as a change-up. Hopefully this blue nonsense was a kit mistake and will never come back. Thankfully the Nike logo on it probably proves that. I'm sure the folks at Puma will like that.
  10. The Blue socks...they had a Nike logo on it, saw them on the pic of Jonas' on the official Flickr page...

the mad bastard's positivity would be awesome. "Loic you're the best fucking striker I've ever fucking seen. You'll absolutely destroy those cunt defenders and will easily make it to the WC team. You're better than Benz...Benz..Mercedes Benz if you ask me"

Might literally be Joe's only redeeming quality, he's mad as fuck and his self belief is out of this world.
  13. Ahhh okay cool. I have U-Verse so I'm in good shape. My brother though, he has, Verizon FIOS in Tampa Waiting for them to announce/show the channels Premier League Extra Time will be on. I assume it'll be like they did for the Olympics and just open up a ton of new channels for it
  14. that's what I'm trying to say dude, yes, I think he can do those things evidenced by his body of work over the years in Ajax and some of his best performances for us. I also alluded that I hope his better qualities shine as he adapts more to the league, his teammates and under a hopefully non toxic environment our squad were in all of last year.
  15. He was up & down, but for the most part he did well. He was better than Simpson at times and then naive and poorer than Simmo. Our attacks DID NOT flutter or stand still when Debuchy was in though, thats for sure. He was also thrown into a shaky fucking back 4 and Pardew's tactics didn't do much when he probably failed to instruct Debuchy to hold his attacking or continue to attack when he had decent intel on the opposition. He's an international standard RB who like many of our January signings experienced the high & low of the Premier League, he'll come good this season and be one of our top players.
  16. Miami. Jagielka is Will Smith. Shit that made me laugh out loud
  17. Those loose sleeves man, what is happening there? Also that pool looks like Miami or Phoenix? Roma kits are lush man, isn't it being done in-house or something for this season?
  18. Think he's got the pace to get left to right and cover the space - snuffing out the danger before it happens, and then using his good passing ability to get it up field. We don't need to have a true on defensive midfielder, we need someone competent at covering when we lose the ball but also offers offensively as well, like you said, ability to start attacks.
  19. No, there isn't. Cabaye isn't suited to playing that high up the field. He'd do well in a partnership in which the other player is able to get forward. This is true. I would say he needs someone who plays pretty deep as well, to do some of his running for him. A Khedira, Mascherano... Tiote. Then another who aims to get forward - whether that's Marv or Siss. If it's just Cabaye and Siss/Marv - Cabaye has too much running to do. Would it not work to have an Anita (all things being equal and he sort of adapts to show the tackling/reading of game that he showed at Ajax) with Sissoko and Cabaye?

At his best he's got so much more than just a physical advantage. Don't get me wrong, he's a f***ing specimen, but he's actually a very good, technical, footballer on his day. He's an absolute anomaly where our recent homegrown talent is concerned. Didn't ever quite know if he would amount to much, but then he hit a stride that still gives me chills. The way he played the first half of that season back up before that Daglish thunderbastard of a transfer offer....
