I wouldn't be surprised if we got them in a cup game next year.

Newcastle v Reading April 5th 2008. 3-0 win. I flew out from California for the game. Met some wonderful people. It was an amazing day, can't wait to come back.

That's one thing that I love about supporting this club. As many times as I feel like I've been punched in the gut, especially over the past few years, there always seems to be a glimmer of optimism, of hope and faith in the lads that comes through the gloom. I have no idea why and I'm clearly setting myself up for more disappointment, but still there it is. We are Newcastle!

The one thing that I don't understand, and God knows why I'm even trying to figure it out, is why buy Newcastle, or any team in professional sports for that reason, if you don't want to make them the best they possibly can be. I'm not a hockey fan, but if I had the money and owned a hockey team you better believe I'd do whatever I could to get them to the top. Why waste your time and money on this if you're not gonna try and build the best team possible? Why try to squeak by with Alan F***ing Pardew leading the way? I don't get it.

Is there anything good about Pardew? Any chance that this will end in anything but tears for us?

I've met Klinsman, I coached his son for a few years, and although I'd much rather have him then Pardew, I can't see him getting involved with Ashley. He's too nice of a guy. Hope I'm wrong though.

I can't believe this is all going on. Really liked Chris. I've been trying to find some silver lining here, and this is all I've come up with - anyone think Ashley might be more willing to spend money if he is friends with Pardew? Probably not, just looking for the bright side.

God I hate Lalas, only his complete smugness could put a damper on this win for me. Anyone off the US team that anyone would be interested in? If Altidore could harness his size, he could be a force

I'm not familiar with the English Justice system, but it seems when someone "famous" or high profile gets sentenced to jail time here in the states they only end up serve a fraction of the time. Like I think Paris Hilton was sentenced to 2 months and ended up serving 3 or 4 days if that. Is Barton going to be serving the full 6 months?
