  1. this is a good point. perhaps some of his flaws could be improved if he spoke better english? fao The Janitor: did you notice my thread's initial cap?
  2. It doesn't help when he's having to play out of position either. i think i took it into consideration that he's been played out of position, in the OP. but that 1st goal was down to something in his head or attitude... which is why i began the thread in the 1st place-- i rate zoggy and was very concerned that le havre was going to get him back yadda yadda yadda. but now, after seeing his lack of, what, enthusiasm? heart? footballing brain? there's SOMETHING more to his lack of progress, and i'm worried. i want him to finish his mazy dribbles with a good pass or shot on target rather than just doing them to prove that he's better one-on-one than anyone in a black & white shirt. i think he does them just to do them, sometimes. sigh. i just want this team to snap out of their malaise...perhaps i've too harshly singled out charles. but, really, are we seeing his fullest potential on the pitch?
  3. i agree with you, and look forward to what KK will do to improve the movement, passing etc... my purpose for this thread was more to point out that, as a previous poster said about the chicken/egg, it takes both good passing AND good off-the-ball movement to generate consistent offense.
  4. b/c it's the right thing to do?
  5. we (rightly) criticize those players who can't pass, but perhaps our off-the-ball movement is a real culprit.
  6. owen, i guess, makes them, but does anyone else really know how, when, or even whether to make a run? our movement off the ball has been poor. what gives?
  7. not sure how to respond... zoggy is one that i think has tremendous potential and talent and i've singled him out absolutely because of that. the absolute dross that has been pulling on a black & white shirt this season should be gone this summer, and good riddance. but, it's my hope that zoggy stays and comes good under kk. but he's certainly not the finished article and if he's not careful about his attitude, mentality, work ethic, whatever you want to call it, we'll suffer for it. obviously he's been played out of position, but even HE knew he'd blown it for their 1st goal.

    Alan Smith

he needs touching with a broken bottle, a cosh or cricket bat!!
  9. nope! unless you're satisfied with all he's offered going forward.
  10. do you think that, or do you think HE thinks that?
  11. i know he's no left back, but what he did for that 1st goal was at best lazy. for me there's too much of the sulking prima donna in him. he seems to think that every time he gets the ball he can dribble a la Pele in Victory-- i do dis...dis... dis-> Goal! there's little end product most of his mazy dribbling ends up in a cul-de sac, & i'm waiting to see the difference between his footballing brain and martins. i know many think he's our best player but, seriously, there's flaws to his game that need pointing out. let's have em! and i'm sure i'd be easier on him if i weren't so ticked at our overall effort!
  12. thought this said, "Milner's Statue" !
  13. Which was the point i was trying to get at. The business was fundamentally sound and the people at Barclays who make decisions like that arent accountants, they are business analysts. They look at future growth opportunities and trends in markets. Thats how google was valued so highly when it was still loss making. As quayside has noted you can make 2.5m loss a year and still be in tip top condition. So what exactly does it mean to be putting that loss into the accounts? It can mean fuck all. This whole debate is based around Mort's idea that a premiership football club with massive revenues could have gone bust. Notwithstanding the lawyerly way he phrases that statement, i still think its a load of shit. The business wasnt great but with high revenues, increased TV money to the tune of 30m a year and increasing demand for football and the success of the prem brand across the globe, it just doesnt add up. so, should i retract my ?
  14. mr. ashley: Its hard to appreciate what hes done with us struggling so badly on the pitch but at least we have a secure future whatever happens over the next 12 games. i agree & am grateful.
  15. could geremi play at left back? i mean, does he have any experience at this position?
  16. whatever it takes to lure one here!
  17. or rock, paper, scissors btween 2 thick children... images of the monty python twit olympics spring to mind! or this!
  18. what about teams from other leagues? :sad1: people surely can have a favorite from la liga or whatever. just have to be all NUFC should we meet in the intertoto! Why would you want to support a team form somewhere you weren't from? Second teams from anywhere is bad enough, but another in the EPL, as the first poster clearly has, is mental. well, i like kaiserslautern just for their logo! http://www.soccerway.com/teams/germany/1-fc-kaiserslautern/home i just like to have a laugh with that big old logo right out there saying, " 1 FCK" it's immature certainly, but it's not like football isn't a game after all...
  19. people have said shay doesn't command his area etc... is there any evidence from his defenders comments to this effect? serious Q, not having a go at anyone. i really wonder if any of the back 4 over the past few years has let slip some damning comment about shay. i also wonder if the harewood injury hasn't gotten inside his head and made him tentative on saves where he has to expose/extend his body and be vulnerable...
