  1. As an accountant I must vote for Souness---he simply ruined the club, and if Ashley didn't bought the club we were already Leeds United again. In this perspective Allardyce are no where near Souness.

    Harper or Given?

Even Allardyce is the one to blame for the results, I couldn't forget all the blunders Given made at this season. Harper definitely.
  3. I would be very happy if we can buy a quality central defender, but even if we didn't sign anyone it's ok. Taylor and Faye looks like a good partnership and we can give chances to Kadar/Tozer/Edgar, and in important matches we still got Cacapa. The difficult question for the defense line...is the goalkeeper. Harper or Given? Or even Krul? May be a new established GK? I couldn't think of a really dominate answer for this.
  4. Carroll for Viduka anyone? I can see our best option is the crossing from the left and we can make the best use of it by using our best header.
  5. Messi can only be better than Maradona if he can won 2 World Cups. To be a top class legendary you need to win the World Cup, but not only club trophies like George Best or, Cristiano Ronaldo. And to be honest Messi, though ultimately has the potential to be the best player ever, is still a mile away from Cristiano because of his inconsistencies. However, Messi would definitely have a better chance to be better than Cristiano in history simply because he has a bigger chance to win the World Cup---well, Argentina isn't top favorites but still a lot more likely than Portugal.
  6. No, I couldn't agree with that. If what Ashley wants is immediate success, he can really hire a world class manager and back him with, say, 80m and brought in a few stars. I don't think anyone here will blame Ashley for that right? Or certainly Ashley must be blamed if he sacked Allardyce and hire a new manager with no money backings. The point is, if you want short term success you gotta show the money, and if you want long term success you gotta show your patience and backings, especially under the situation of takeover like us. And tell me how could a manager succeed if he has no real backings from the owner? Players lose faith in him in an unsual short period of time and this is definitely not only due to Allardyce's style. And, if failure is the only outcome for Allardyce as a result of Ashley' stubbornness, then why give him the rest of the season? It would be correct to hire a new manager and give him time to understand the team. If you think Ashley shouldn't be blamed for his initial purpose last July, then you also shouldn't criticize his sacking of Sam. Of course his choice of Keegan is another matter, but the sacking alone isn't wrong at all.
  7. I agree that he doesn't look like he could turn it around but I think it's mainly because the players know the manager doesn't really have Ashley's backing. So that's why I think Allardyce was destined to fail because of Ashley's stubbornness.
  8. I do think it's a problematic argument that if Keegan is the one who employed last summer we would be in a better position. As the fans doesn't like Sam's football style, it's definitely ok to bash him off by picking out his negatives, but at the end of the day it's ultimately Ashley's fault for the mess. Please don't suggest that he shouldn't be blamed because he has cleared our debt, that's irrelevant. No matter how much you disliked Allardyce, you must agree that he is not brought in as an immediate wonder maker, and he has also declared that he needs at least 3 years to turn the club around. He is in fact a long term solution and his main responsibilities for these few seasons is to restructure the club, like investing in youth players, inserting new medical staff, etc. Yes the pro-zone stuff makes him looks stubborn but overall he is really improving the club as a whole, in terms of hardware I would say. And, what Ashley think is "Why not just give him a try? It doesn't hurt and if things doesn't look good then fire him". Tell me what the fxxk is this logic for temporarily keep a manager who can only success in long term.
  9. He shouldn't be selected tbh/tbf.
  10. I wanna have a try on Barton + Geremi. This may works.
  11. We are even worse than Cadiff tbh.
  12. Taylor is completely hopeless if the other players aren't doing their job. I am not defending him, but just saying that he's not another Woodgate that can clear the danger solely by himself. We should aimed for better to partner with Faye, but wouldn't mind a reserve defender like him.
  13. I definitely got a smell of Smith as regular starters for the rest of the season.
  14. Would you shout "KK out?" Well just a joke but honestly I can feel that he will still play Smith and Owen and let Martins warming the bench for the coming matches. If this goes on I wouldn't be surprised that this poll becomes a serious one

    Alan Smith

How about Ashley personally involved in team selection?
  16. Yes for the same situation, but I do think Allardyce is a better manager when facing relegation battle, even if he has lost the players---and tbh I wonder whether the players still have faith on KK after such losing streak. I agree that the answer simply depends on whether we will be relegated or not, but honestly if we do relegated some people her will still think Allardyce is the one who got us relegated, not KK. May be a better question is should we hire KK in the first place? The sacking of Allardyce, even with several justification, is definitely a risky decision and it should be complemented by a top class manager, but not KK.
  17. I think he will sell the club.
  18. NOW that's what Enrique should be blamed------poor positioning during offside trap.
  19. To blame Enrique for the goal/result is rubbish. We are just under too much pressure from Liverpool which is the result of non-existence of Smith/Duff and the disgraceful performance by Butt.
  20. My ideal lineup would be Carroll and Martins....
  21. I wonder how Martins can accept such treatment. Transfer request is a must imo.
  22. We could get a point if we played Faye as our defensive midfielder. Wouldn't mind to play Butt too because we do need lots of strength in the middle to coup with Gerrard. However if this is the case we must start Martins and prepared for a counter attack strategy. Enrique, N'Zogbia, Milner and Owen should all start, so as Cacapa and Taylor. And I know KK won't do that.
  23. The result clearly shows we need a new CB. Faye should be playing defensive midfielder because Butt and Barton are just too s*** to play.
