Carrick and Sahin would be an inspired pair.

Honestly, the best we can get atm is Houllier.

I agree with the timing problem, but not because of not having a "football break". The reason is the takeover by Ashley. Let's face it. Without the takeover, everyone will be a lot more patient with Sam's performance and willing to give him 2 seasons for trying. And now people just think "oh yea we got the money and let's see Man City, money can bring instant success, then why wait for that?" While the players may think "he is not the one Ashley want...probably he has no future, then why should I pay 100% effort?" The level of patience towards the manager, either from the fans and from the players, are the lowest I have ever seen for any EPL teams. This is the reason why Sam fails to make it. If our next appointment is even worse than Roeder/Souness (and I'm sure not much of us will really expect a bad manager up next), the fans must be blamed for that and the club deserves another dark age.

Back in the Inter days he also attracted tons of disputes like this---he is an excellent player but never able to perform up to his standards. Finally Inter give up and sold him to us for 3.5m.

It should be the least contributer rather than worst player. My vote goes to Rozehnal/Taylor.
-
We can use all the accusations about Luque for Enrique now.
-
Honestly even if we play Enrique he will still be raped by SWP. Faye should be our defensive midfielder from now on. He shows that he is capable to bring the ball forward by some neat short passes.
-
I just want Taylor to stand up and be f*****.
-
Faye plays like our Vieira, jesus christ.
-
Is Duff playing left back?
-
Well done Faye, that's the best tackle in this match.
-
Beye and Faye are simply brilliant today.
-
Honestly, the team isn't that bad. The problem is we blatantly miss a key player in the middle. Viana anyone?
-
That's unacceptable, Martins.
-
Taylor you mother fucker
-
I think Enrique will start tonight, with Duff on the left Milner on the right....and Charles on the bench.

Sounds like the Newcastle Manager job is actually notorious within the industry rather than attractive. I do wonder if we sack Sam now, who are willing to come, may be the best prospect is Jol, which is a nightmare for us. The problem is that the fans are so impatient that even the players have given up their patience for the manager and refuse to work under his system. Wasn't Sam saying a lot of times that the team doesn't suppose to play like that?
-
Face it. The root problem is the player just play for themselves only but not for the club. They only played well when there's doubts about their commitment or effort, but not when the team is in crisis.
-
At least it is not his fault for the Wigan match eh?
-
Reading from the words by Sam after match, it seems like he even didn't expect the team to play like that. Fallen out with the squad?
-
I just start to think whether sack or not is not important...There is something behind the collapse, and I just hope it can be discovered and we can back on track in the long run.
-
May be, but some players, e.g. Enrique, will not give a damn to Sam's sacking right? It is simply ridiculous to play like that, having 3 wingers and 1 playmaker on the starting lineup, and a nearly full team squad. Why play like that?
-
Just a wild guess: Ashley has decided to try to appoint Jose at the end of this season, so he just ask Sam "not to relegate this season", and no matter what Sam will be sacked at the end of this season. Consequence is that players simply don't listen to him anymore---who dare to listen to a deadbody?
