I also think Pedro is a better prospect over Etikite. He is already EPL proven and from what I saw he is faster, stronger and more direct (Etikite has better positioning though). I genuinely prefer Pedro over Etikite.

It’s a bit tricky re Joao Pedro. Some people believes that he has huge potential, some not so. Some clubs may really charge us Newcastle tax, but for Joao Pedro case I think it’s more about the player himself. I did read some articles ranking him as the third best brazil prospect in the world, even higher than Antony. those who hold similar beliefs would demand something close to 30m, which is rumoured to be exactly what Watford is asking.

in short they keep great relationships with agents and rarely demand outrageous transfer fees. Agents are more willing to let their players to go to Watford as a stepping stone.

They just want big names to maintain the brand name. The owner wants to sell for a very high price. Glazers is just another Fat Ashley.

Hmmm I have different opinion. I always think that if we can sign Paqueta it has to be close to the end of Aug, when Paqueta knows the clubs he preferred decide not to sign him. We should always be his back up option (and rightly so). I ain’t saying this must be real but it fits my prediction. Hope it comes true.

If we are still under Ashley we won’t be bidding 20m for Pedro, we would be bidding 2M for someone from Danish League. To be honest I find it quite difficult to determine the “going rate”. Say for Pedro, an unproven player with potential, what’s the going rate? 20m? 30m? 40m? Probably the reality is it doesn’t matter - it just depends on how much the other club is willing to bid, hence why so many clubs and agents trying to initiate a bidding war

If Isak is really on 200K per week, I could understand why the club is just asking for 50m.
