Loven = sp frustrating. Well done Sammy and Haris, both have looked bright. If we can get an early ET goal I can see them crumble.
-
He's not been released just put up for sale for free, as he is still employed by use I assume that officially any potential buyers would need permission from us. Maybe thats a grand plan from Wor Mike? Hope a club approaches Barton without permission then report them to the PL

Club have already said Obertan is Routledges replacement. I'm not being a prick on purpose here and to be fair I haven't really joined in the board bashing to the level of some on here but it won't be the first time they have told us something than isn't entirely truthful. I too would like to see Obertan as Routledge's replacement, but if Barton is shifted I think the Obertan signing and the fitness of Gosling will rule out their need to replace Barton. I really hope I am wrong. Normally I am positive and wrong, hopefully my negativity is misplaced this time?
-
Agree. We probably won't sign a LB and striker. Replacing Barton is mission impossible for this boardroom. To find a quality midfielder with contract issues won't be that easy at that time. For some reason, misguided optimism probably I do believe that we will sign a left back in some form by the end of the window, even though that maybe PVH on loan or something, which is better than nothing, but I can't see a striker coming?

This is frustrating, even though I didn't agree with his use of Twitter against the club and believe he to has an agenda not just the club I would be disappointed to see him go as he has played well so far this season. Especially to QPR, who lets face it will be involved in a relegation battle this season. My frustration would be eased if we were able to replace him by the end of the window, but we have had months to sort a left back and striker out and haven't so I have no confidence in replacing Barton. Maybe the club (Ashley-And Super Derek) believe they have replaced him with Obertan?
-
I forgot about him, he must have a hanging wife/girlfriend or something.

I know that football fans wear rose tinted glasses at the best of times, but that match review is one of the worst I have ever seen. Pretty pathetic. Looked 50/50 surely thats a piss take. The ref actually got it wrong, it should be a straight red not a 2nd yellow.

Wasn't that impressed with Obertan on Saturday, certainley room for improvement, I think he could become an asset for us, but when Ben Arfa is back I can see him being a sub anyway. With his pace and skill he will be a good weapon to bring on against tiring defences. There were a couple of times on Saturday I was hoping he would try and beat his man but like others has said he seemed to lack that confidence to try it.
-
Even though I didn't like his tweets against the club, I think he's shown he can be an asset to the club. It will be interesting to see if we can get to September 1st with him still at the club. I think there may well be a chance we could sort out his contract then, especially if he keeps on playing well.

Do you think Moyes' patience with the club will run out at some point? To be honest even though I have him down as a dark horse for being the first to depart from a club given his kind of character I doubt he'd leave Everton durning the season, I wouldn't be shocked to see him walk away at the end of the season if lack of funds are still the case.
-
I'll be very surprised if it isn't Kean, but I could see Moyes as a dark horse. Maybe not to be sacked but as first to leave the club? Then again he is a very determined bloke and seems quite honourable so can't see him doing that to Everton, but he's had it tough for a while now while still managing to do a good job. I think Brendan Rogers and Lambert will probably see out the season, both set of fans are fairly realistic that it will be a long tough season so the respective boards shouldn't get too much pressure from fans. Of the promoted teams I can se Warnock being in the most trouble given that they have a bit of money and he is a twat. I think Martinez may have bought extra time especially with the Chairman after turning down Villa in the summer.

shove that up you bruce

I came on here on the off chance that a left back was signed since I last checked at 4 o'clock, and I find this. Never heard of him, but we need 3 keepers and seeing as Forster has gone out on loan I don't see the problem with this signing.
-
Pardew have often stated definitely one, maybe two strikers in. If we manage to offload Loven as well, there is no reason we can't buy a cheap Maynard as one of two. I see a flaw in that plan Spotted a second. Third???

Song = biggest c*** of the day Gervinho = prick Barton = Stupid We all understand the frustration of someone diving for a penalty, but it was a poor reaction from Barton. Also hitting the floor like that was simulation. Weren't we all calling Pedersen a knobhead last season. Barton was a lucky boy yesterday, however, the whole thing has been blown out of proportion. Hopefully Song will get a ban for what he did, I can't see a reason for him not to get one. Lets hope this dies down by the derby, no doubt anything he does wrong there will get over analysed.

I'll go as far as saying probably the most important player at the club, he is immense, light years apart from his 1st season in the Premiership. Credit where credit is due Taylor looked good too, there seemed a bit more maturity to his game yesterday, suppose time will tell.

Early season optimism = 8th. 19:30 tonight = 16th. I am confident of top 10 finish though.
-
Would love to think so mate, but I just can't see a Dutch international wanting to come here to sit on the bench. But what if he was coming here to play alongside Colo? This is the one thing that possibly makes this a goer, though I can't see us bypassing Willo or Taylor when they will be seen as more than adequate.
-
As much as I dislike Liverpool and want them to fail this season we need them to smash Sunderland today. They have a feel good factor, they think they've made positive signings this summer to it would be good to see their optimism crushed, and heaps a lot of pressure on them next week, that being said the same will be said by them lot about us.
-
Am I being way too optimistic in thinking that we could be in for both Pieters and Cissokho? Other than the fact that Mike Ashley runs the club I wouldnt think of it being too excessive, 2 left backs would be ideal seeing as we haven't got any and Pieters would give us some extra cover at centre half. Saying that I'd be more than grateful for one at the moment.
-
I have no dislike for Loven, I think he has positively contributed to the club during his time here, but at the moment he is not someone who could move us forward. I'd be more than happy for him to leave and sign another striker. Ba, New Striker, Best, Shola I'd be content with.
-
The biggest frustration about this is that it was very unlikely that Enrique was going to sign a new contract for us this summer. So why didn't we tell Liverpool piss off until we sign a replacement. I was willing to understand the Carroll transfer, yes we still needed a striker regardless of Carroll going or not, but £35 million for any player is difficult to turn down. You could even give benefit of the doubt to the board over replacing Carroll, Carroll out Ba in. (I know we need more but as for numbers going into January we are on par). The the boards eyes we have Ba, Best, Shola, Loven, 4 strikers maybe they think thats enough. But no left back at the club is criminal really. Perch is a utility play who if could actually play football would be cover for a number of position. Ferguson I don't think is ready to be a regular starter, so know we go into the start of the season with no left back, not through injuries, not through bad luck but through poor decision making. I haevn't been this boards biggest critic but it has been shocking management over Enrique, maybe Taylor was that back up plan should Enrique decide to lose, at £1 million even if Enrique stayed it would have been a disaster in the boards eyes as Taylor would have been so cheap. As it stands in my eyes we need two left backs, and a striker. At the moment even with doubts over his actually talent someone like Bendtner would be a godsend. With those signs and keeping hold of a happy and contented Barton we have the makings of a decent looking squad.

But Villa are such a well run club with an owner made by Carlsberg??
