I'm trying not to get too excited, so many false dawns you can understand why people suspect the info as dubious. But the lad has nothing to gain from lying, I'm trusting this is what he's been told, I really hope its true. Whether its true or not theres still a shit load of things still to be done to prepare for a season that is a week away. MA has seriously mis-managed everything about his stint at Newcastle, why he couldn't run things properly close season, to make us a more attractive purchase I don't know. Clearly the man has lost interest and has no care other than himself throughout this fiasco. Its a shame what has happened but I hope if this Dubai thing is correct we can re-group and make this work again. Its a special club well to us lot anyway and I just hope we can re-build and lay a strong foundation to build long term success.

The thing is there are not too many stand out candidates for Captain. With the current lot in charge Smith, Butt and Nolan are going to be front runners aren't they. So even for all his faults I'll take Taylor as Captain over them wasters anytime. Not ideal though!!!

Because of Keegan really. All my mates had a team, I didn't, Swansea were dogshit at time, so I picked Newcastle the season they came up. My mum was a Liverpool fan so bought me loads of videos for Chrimbo, I had some of Keegan and really enjoyed watching him play. Newcastle were playing excellent football and I didn't want to jump on the bandwagon of Man Utd/Arsenal & Liverpool fans. I've been asked if I am going to support Swansea this season over Newcastle but I'm not. It would be very scummy of me if I did. Even in the shit state we are in now, I still care for the club, I take interest in the Swansea news that comes out but I feel invested in Newcastle if you know what I mean, the support I have for the club can't be just turned off, so thats what makes me know I am a kinda proper fan rather than a plastic fan....

I know Huntelaar is a better player than these two, but Kuyt and Afonso Alves scored bundles in the Dutch league too. Crouch is tried and tested and contributes his fair share of goals and assists. Has someone told Glenn Roeder that he no longer pays in the dutch league, the poor bastard may still be scouting.

I went to cancel my payment to them then I realised the feckers take a continous card payment, by right I will owe them the £12.99 but I am of the thinking they have bigger things to worry about than my £12.99. My bank told me at this stage I either can cancel my debit card which is a bit drastic or wait for them to take payment and then dispute the transaction. They are not dull when it comes to some things, it does protect them a bit from cancelled payments.

As strange as it sounds but losing Butt, Smith & Nolan would improve our squad. I'd be far happier relying on the likes of Lua Lua than that lot. Through it Ryan Taylor and Shola and I would be happier than I've been for ages... Hopefully Big Fat Sam has an agenda to decimate Blackburn so will put in a bid for a few of them.

Just watching this now, just showed the game at Upton Park when we drew 0-0 and Liverpool lost 2-1 to the Dons to hand Man Utd the title. I forgot how much of a gutter that result was especially as the next game was Man Utd, what a massive game that would have been. If the Fat Man had someone to answer to I think I would be okay with his return. Say if he did the Lambiwanker and some other dude was the Chairman. He got things badly wrong at times but I don't think he treated the club as a whole with the contempt that Ashley is at the moment. I fear oblivion under Ashley, Fred maybe able to save us from that. Hoe do you work that out? New manager who likes to play football, they'll be more open and will get cut to pieces. Just my opinion like but we'll see. That was supposed to happen in the Championship when Swansea went up. He'll keep Wigan up next season, I am sure there will be funds there for him to spend plus he will make a fortune on Antonio Valencia going to a big club. The talk is that he has immense contacts in Spain, hence why he was able to bring some very good Spaniards to Swansea. Jordi Gomez is a very good example of this and is Ranghel (Sp?).

My mates were quite shocked when I told them I'll be supporting Newcastle next season, these are the same boys that support Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal mind, its okay to support another team as long as they are not in the same league as your home town club. I think I'll be taking down my Baby On Board Newcastle thingy and the Newcastle supporter window sticker when the Swansea/Newcastle fixtures come about, especially given the area I live. How desperate its been at times this season, I have never thought of not supporting Newcastle, Swansea were doing really well, but even when the Swans had a bad result I was nowhere near as gutted as when Newcastle lost. I feel hurt when Newcastle lose when Swansea lose I am not happy but it doesn't hurt. I think the only ever result that really hurt me when watching Swansea was the playoff lossess in recent years. When you feel like that when your football team loses you can't just switch off and say you are supporting another team. As I said I know I SHOULD support my home town club but in the situation I can't.
