  1. I am just amazed that the guy just get completley ignored. Fair play to him for not spitting a dummy out. Good luck to him, would like to see him get a chance before Alan Smith upfront. Maybe with JFK out of the way, Houghton and Calderwood may give him a run???
  2. When I initially read the interview I thought that he meant £8m to spend in the summer, but after re-reading it I am pretty sure he means there's £8m there right now to spend. Lets just hope what ever budget we have is spent well. I think we will survive this season so pre-season is a very important time. No fucking around, make sure targets are identified and sounded out (within the laws of the game of course) early in the summer so that they have a full pre-season. That way if some injuries do come up and some areas of the squad are identified as being short we can look at loan players towards the end of the window. Obviously the last paragraphy is a very hopeful view on things. No doubt I will be moaning on August 31st on the 1 or two quality players that we have brought in.
  3. Martinez has had continued steady progress. Ince did a very good job in the lower leagues but his name from his playing career got him a Premiership job rather than his out and out ability as a manager. Some managers are only suited to lower league football. Maybe the Fergusons could swap jobs and I am sure that Alec would find the change as tough as Darren. Martinez will get a go in the Premiership there is no doubt about that. Swansea are not far off getting there themselves. They are an outside chance at the playoffs as it stands and next season they will be contenders for the automatic promotion. Would piss myself if Swansea beat Cardiff to the Premiership.... We haven't got much to lose with Martinez, and if the players at the club cannot respect a relative unknown in playing terms they need to fuck off..
  4. Martinez - 2 years experience.... risky? Ketsbaia...... maybe But under the current conditions...... you would take the chance if you were either of them? Ketsbaia has less experience that Martinez by the way. To answer your question I wouldn't want either at this stage, but would take Mrtinez like a shot in the summer. Not sure his stubborness would go down too well here. For example he has stuck by his striker Jason Scotland all season even at times he has been woeful, but it has paid off Scotland is in a rich vain of form and is a big part in the successful run Swans are on at the moment. Martinez is probably dealing with injury problems that scaled down are on par with ours....

    Viduka

Yeah even though he has been fairly poor this season when fit apart from the back heel v Spurs I would rather him fit than not. A interested fairly fit Viduka is a better option than Shola or Carroll. And with Smith even though he has been worse than dog shite for us he is definately going to be up for the fight and I think no matter what the very least we will get from him is 100%, whether that will be enough remains to be seen.
  6. If the right backing was in place I would like to see Martinez. Get rid of all the dead wood and start a fresh. He would want time and would have his own unique style. He maybe unproven at the very top but I am sure he is a better option than Kinnear. There will be people saying that he is not experience enough at the top level but they will probably be the same ones saying Shearer needs to cut his teeth at a lower level before taking a job like this.

    Alan Smith

Can he make things any worse than they are now, I suppose at least there is a bit of up and at em about him and one thing and I mean one thing we can't criticise him for is his effort. Who knows a goal or two may spark a run in him. Then again it is Smith and it is Newcastle so chances are he will be dogshite again and be played regardless..
  8. Gutted, surely management must see he has very little left to offer? Here's hoping he is just to boost numbers in the summer. Surely when everyone is fit he must be seen as 4th choice behind Nolan, Barton and Guthrie and seeing as we apparently bid for other midfielders he would drop even further down the pecking order.
  9. I forget about Xisco at times but to be fair to me so does our manager, it fact don't be fair to me our manager is a cunt and I'd like to think I am not... But given the fact that our strikers are the walking wounded you would think he would get a run out, I admire that he hasn't yet come out and moaned about the situation, maybe the lad is really not fit at the moment and is making up the numbers but if that is the case why does Kinnear tell us rather than ignore him altogther.
  10. Both seem up for it, they seem excited for signing, both see this as a step up and rightly so. My negative side of me says that Taylor will get injured and Nolan will be a shit as all the Bolton fans are tell us he will be. But the could be good, Nolan could be a big leader for us I noticed he was vocal in the 'huddle' before the Sunderland game and Taylor could give us balance as well as keeping Duffer out of the team. Steven Taylor impressed me at right back on Sunday and would be happy to see him remain there if he plays like that week in week out.
  11. Do we take a risk on Oba, looks like Kinnear may make that decision especially after Shola player on Sunday. It would be devestating if Oba came back and then got injured. I would be tempted to leave him on the bench. Then again if Carroll is fucked we may have no other option, I suppose Lovenkrands could start up tp. I'd feel a lot more confident of this one if Jonas was available..
  12. Looking at either of those teams they are certainley not the weakest team in the league by a long shot but our talent is knocked down a peg or two by our manager. I have tried to be positive about him from the start but the more I look at our players the more I think that they are not that bad. Duff and Butt are massive weak points in that probable team but looking at Yorkies 1st pick it doesn't look to bad, even the bench looks okay with that 1st team Krul, Taylor, Geremi, Butt, Duff, Shola, Carroll
  13. I am not that bothered by N'Zogbia going he hasn't really done that well in recent times, it is a blow losing Given though, Harper is a top class replacement its just the message sent out by the sale of Given. He was one of the few stalwarts left our shining ray of light. As others have said selling Given and N'Zogbia wouldn't have been too bad had we invested well in the market. As much support I have given Duff over the past few seasons he is just not up to it. I thought we had a cracking deal with him and I thought he would come good but there is nothing to his game anymore. Who else do we play on our wing instead of him. Overall I think we may have weakened as Given is better than Harper and N'Zogbia is better than Duff, however, I see the signing of Nolan a positive one and Taylor strengthens our defence. When Beye is fit we can move Taylor into midfield and Jonas on the left.
  14. Just a pity Barton or Guthrie are not fit as I feel they could play well with Nolan. But I agree Oba is key I think he could work well with Caroll or Shola, I don't think either are up to the task long term but are better options than Viduka as at least they give a shit.
  15. I know some clubs have brought in keepers in emergency in the past. However Krul looks like he could handle the pressure, to be fair to him he was excellent in the UEFA cup, though I agree it is totally different from playing week in week out in the Prem. When is Oba due back by the way?
  16. You'll have to keep dreaming, I'm afraid. Theres not much else I can do. I know its a fanciful idea, but if he did those things he could turn it around though I am not too hopeful on that..
  17. Johnny - Harry Redknapp doesn't manage us and we are not spurs so probably not. In short I don't know...
  18. He has lost my support. He can regain it though. He needs to admit his mistakes, get rid of Joe Kinnear and at very least reinvest the money we have made from the Milner, Given and N'Zogbia sales. Keep the scouting network, bringing in young talent is not that bad a plan, and reduce the wage bill by getting rid of players like Geremi, Butt, Viduka & Duff. As much as a good player I think Owen is I think he must go in the summer, his wages are massive and his injury record is shocking, its no good relying on a player that misses so much of the season.
  19. I'd be more confident with the squad we got IF we had a DECENT manager. I don't think we need a great manager to see us through this spell. You look at the likes of Wigan and Hull and I can't honestly say I would take many players from their teams. Are West Ham that much better off than us for personnel?? I don't know maybe I am wearing my black and white specs but our players don't seem THAT bad just the manager is w***. In our current situation I don't know who would take the job. It frightens the s**** out of me that Kinnear may sign his contract and be manager long term. The only way I see him not being manager is him not signing the contract which I highly doubt, I don't think even he is abig enough t*** to do that (I wouldn't) or Ashley to sell up and that doesn't look like happening... If Ashley stays he comes out and speaks himself and tells us he has made massive mistakes and then changes a few things. Fine stick with bringing young players in and try to get rid of the dead wood but have some ambition and bring in a decent manager and at very least lets spend the money that we have recouped from Milner, that little french w***** and Shay Given...
  20. Do you think the fact that Shay handed in a transfer fee affected the bid from Man City? How much do you think Shay was due in loyalty bonuses had he not requested a transfer? Maybe this lowered the fee from City.... I am just guessing here....

    Jose Bosingwa

I like it. Just imagine the media had it been Joey "The Killer Boot Thrower" Barton. Brilliant picture.
  22. Hasn't he had issues with most of them?
  23. When it suits them the player is always right look at their backing for Stevenn Gerrard, there is no way their golden boy did what he has been accused of but where was his support of Barton? How petty is Taylor being? Insomnia is as difficult to say, what the hell has that got to do with it?
  24. Taylor says Magpies boss is 'at best disrespectful, at worst deeply offensive' Published Date: 31 January 2009 Joe Kinnear's mispronunciation of Charles N'Zogbia's name is "at best disrespectful and at worst deeply offensive", according to Professional Footballers' Association chief executive Gordon Taylor. In a television interview earlier this week, Kinnear referred to the Frenchman as 'insomnia', sparking a row between the Newcastle manager and his player. N'Zogbia released a statement saying he would not play for the Magpies again under Kinnear, but the former Wimbledon boss retaliated by saying the argument was a "desperate attempt to engineer a move away from Newcastle United". Taylor has now waded into the clash between the Newcastle pair. In a statement, the players' chief said: "Why should we not expect Charles N'Zogbia to be upset when his own manager cannot even remember his correct name in public but chooses to say 'insomnia'? "Respect runs two ways. "This is at best disrespectful and at worst deeply offensive, especially as insomnia is as difficult to pronounce as N'Zogbia. It's not good when people who should cannot remember your name. "Ask Graham Taylor how he feels when he gets called Gordon Taylor. We are our name. "The word (insomnia) gives the media a stick with which to beat the lad." Utter f***ing bollocks. Fuck me I wonder what he thinks about Sir Bobby Robson then, hasn't Keegan mixed up a few names in his time at Newcastle. The PFA can be pricks at times, there is no mention about how disrespectful N'Zogbia has been by getting his agent and intrviews in France to state his desire, as it has been said, if he is that unhappy why doesn't he put in a formal transfer request....
  25. As much as I like Given, surely its best all around if he does go now as long as we get a good value for him. Harper is not that far behind him and we have a set of promising youngster to back him up..
