Because if Hull won it's another nail into the coffin of NUFC's stupid "no point trying in cup competitions" mantra. Not everything revolves around nufc you know. Why wouldn't it? I don't care about Arsenal's trophy 'drought'. All I care about is NUFC. Then why are you watching the game? It has nothing to do with us.

Because if Hull won it's another nail into the coffin of NUFC's stupid "no point trying in cup competitions" mantra. Most of us would love to just get into QF's again. This result has nothing to do with us.

Think it's just the Arsenal fans and their terribly long wait for a trophy. It's awkward for us - most of us have never seen us win a trophy.
-
Good effort from Hull.... did themselves proud just ran out of steam.

Hull are dead on their feet

Think he's still pretty much "injured". The 15 minutes he's getting is a real last gasp move.

Would be happy for Wenger..... Arsenal fans are disgusting

Alan Pardew isn't the biggest problem with the club. He's just the biggest symptom. Any decent board would've thrown him away long time. Good chance he'll start the season longest-serving manager in the PL.

I bet they aren't the only club in England that feels that way about cup competition. I bet some other clubs without much ambition in the Premier League have that attitude, secretly. With respect, most of those clubs aren't Newcastle United. Pigeon-holing us with clubs like Hull, Swansea, Stoke et al is doing the club's work for them (not that you were necessarily, but it's often done just because we're in the same division). It's a bit of a funny Premier League at the moment in that there's a lot of teams who are still fairly new arrivals to the gravy train, or who have been yo-yo clubs. If other clubs want to solidify their Premier League status, to become mainstays like we are/were, that's up to them (all of them still have better cup records than us since 2007, for the record). The expectations of a Newcastle fan to be at least punching our weight with Everton and Spurs are perfectly reasonable - very similar clubs to us within the Premier League era. The only other club in the division who can really have similar cause for complaint is Aston Villa, who are also suffering in a similar fashion and are also a much bigger club than those around them. I'm sure you've done this on purpose but even these clubs have reached domestic finals in recent years.

I've enjoyed the will they/won't they L'pool angle this season. Especially as it had a happy ending. You think I want to come here and talk about Pardew and co.?

Yohan Cabaye (now sporting coordinator at Paris Saint-Germain)

Still got love for Cabaye due to his performances. I didn't like how he went on at times but he knew the club has zero plans to go anywhere and he's in the prime of his career. If I were advising him, I would've told him to act a twat too tbh. He dusted himself down and played brilliantly for the next 4 months. Had we been a club with any ambition we would've looked to have secured a long-term big money contract for his services - we didn't even try. You look at L'pool, they had a player do the same thing but they coughed up the money and told him they planned to join the big boys. -
Aye, about three paces ahead of the line.

These Benfica lot are going to lose aren't they?

Fucking love Benfica.

Aye, he's certainly slow. Garay has done well for Benfica with that suicide high line they often deploy. Although not in the CL as they crashed out. -

Demichelis was a bit off the pace when he first came but overall he's had a good season IMO. From about February onwards he hardly put a foot wrong. He's a leader and tactically smart player who marshals the backline well. He's well suited to international football too. There's more focus on defenders relieving pressure with the ball rather than the desperate defending we love so much. Not to mention the game is slower. He made less mistakes than Kompany in the last 2/3 months in the season. -

Even the Argentinian players I know I've only seen a handful regularly this season. I'm just assuming the likes of Cambiasso are still useful. -

As expected Tevez left out. Mistake. An injury to Messi, Di Maria or Aguero and they're deeply f***ed. That defense is pure meh. Germany, Brazil and Spain all have stronger squads in my opinion. Defence isn't as bad as made out considering they have a very hard-working midfield. Zabaleta, Garay & Demichelis are all very decent from what i've seen. Campagnaro from Napoli? He's not terrible at all. We'll have to agree to disagree, having watched plenty of Argentina I can promise you that if you also have and keeps to that opinion of yours then you're expectations are far lower than mine for a national team like Argentina. Tbh i'm just looking at the names. On paper the defence and midfield is no weaker defensively as Brazil are on paper in attack in midfield when it comes to attacking. But granted I haven't seen Argentina very much at all. -

He got crocked a while back. -
A few of those cost a fair bit. Will they be able to go back to spending back again?
-
They don't have the personnel to play the Stoke way. Puncheon & Bolasie are very different to the old Stoke wingers too.

I just hope we don't get whooped.
