  1. Bang on. Every last word. There's nothing that annoys me more than a player being labeled "not good enough" after only his second game for the club. It's even more annoying when his performance is no better or worse than most of the other players on the pitch. How are players supposed to succeed when they're being written off before they've had a chance to prove themselves? We've been linked with Smith for several years. We know what he has to offer, he isn't Enrique.
  2. Yeah that's basically complete and utter bollocks. It isn't. If he's stuck in midfield he'll play like Parker and eventually gain the same level of stick. I think away from home Sam will be looking to play upfront and be our Davies whilst at home use the technically superior and work ethic inferior Viduka.
  3. For Sam's sake (and ours)I hope we whoop someone quickly at home If we go 4 or so games (at home) without convincingly beating a side thye half an hour 0-0 groans will start.
  4. Really surprised by SGE thought he'd start poorly.
  5. No chane on £5m. More like £15m. No way in hell Hughes will sell like. I would of said 10m and why would Hughes? It was more in reference to another thread. Look at his first choice attacking players, McCartney, Santa Cruz, Pederson and Bentley - I'd have them at toon if we could. I rate Derbyshire as a great youngster (alright he's 21). Scored some very impressive goals. Bentley.
  6. He'll also need pace. Takeaway Obafemi and we have no threat in behind (Owen + Duff are knackered).
  7. We do seem to lack creative players in midfield bar Milner. Whether a midfielder or a winger for the 4-3-3 I think that's what we lack as a squad (as many people have ben saying)
  8. lol true. I'll be dissapointed if we don't beat Wigan & Boro, both teams I reckon will struggle to stay up. btw can you mention the next fixtures in a paragraph like form?
  9. Isit £8M for Nobby and Dyer? Not too bad.
  10. Some of these really fast young players. Gabby Agbonglahor Theodore Walcott Ashley Young 2012 tbh.
  11. said this in an article about a month or so ago. Big Sam is the man !! SAF likes Newcastle too, BTW he's always tended to pay us the compliment of putting out the strongest possible team against us. Aye. I remember when we where good they'd whoop us a few times. The infamous 6-2 and the 5-3 spring to mind. Even under Souness he'd put all the big guns out against us...which is sort of nice. Is it true that Scholes has scored more SJP goals in his career than Dyer?
  12. Can't blame his reasonings. Don't think he'd do great here anyway.
  13. Usually i'd like em to stay up because I know their s*** and they know their s***. But they've spent far to much money this summer for me liking and their getting a little to excited about all the mediocrity. Chopra = £5,000,000 Richardson = £5,000,000 Gordan = £9,000,000 The look on Quinn and Keane's face come May when they are relegated on the last day of the season by goal difference = PRICELESS
  14. Why do so many people under estimate Arsenal? Henry wasn't playing for a large chunk of last season and if not for a dip of form towards the end of the season they could've finished 3rd... Spurs came very strong near the end. They still dominate 90% of matches and miss bucket loads of chances. They'll be in a CL come come next May.
  15. Sven > Pearce Thai bloke with loads of cash > clueless debt ridden bloke So things must be on the up then! Had to be really, as I had you down as certs for the drop if you didn't get something sorted. Short term, think you'll be looking at something similar to Villa last year - enough time to get in a few key players before the new season, but too late for a real overhaul. Longer term, not too sure about Sven - getting on a bit now isn't he, and comes with colossal baggage - combination of him and the dodgy dictator means a potential field day for the tabloids.... They're in a much better position than we were before last season - our takeover went through after the closing of the transfer window. Eh? Didn't you buy that ex-Celtic player after teh takeover?
  16. Van Persie was on fire last season before he got injured and they still dominate 80% of football matches and just miss a bucket load of chances. They'll be fine imo as long as Wenger stays
  17. R.I.P. Henry's career in England. Probably played the best football and most consistant of any Premiership player imo.
  18. This. Brown is never consistent and tough enough to make it to the top. Upson just not good enough. Dawson simply an older version of Taylor. I don't know if Taylor will overtake Lescott soon. If Lescott is still being played as left back in the coming seasons then Taylor could overtake him easily. If not it is hard to call. Taylor, however will simply be better than Brown, Upson and Dawson whom I think have reached their full potential. Easy as consistenly performing in the EPL?
  19. Yep. Yep. People acting like he was brilliant last year and it just the others fault, not like he played shit himself. He showed ALOT of promise, has good armour too his game and could go on to become a great player but he could also become Bramble II. No Newcastle fan wants him to fail but many fans act s if he's already passed the test.
  20. When he's being rash, clumsy and totally idiotic diving all over the place like he's been shot. No he's had half a dozen "brilliant" games.... proof if i've ever seen it that he'll become the next John Terry. I've already said it but we have built this lad up to the hill, let's hope he doesn't dissapoint or else he'll be shattered.
  21. Another Taylor & Milner wankfest? **leaves thread**
  22. Finished? Did I say that or did you make it up? I suspect you wont answer that question. I have stated that he isnt any better than average. Its nice that people want to see him do well. He just doesnt have the ability or the pace to do so. If we are looking at players like Milner to help us progress then we will be waiting a long time. Keep him as a squad player but he wouldnt get in the Liverpool, Chelsea, Man Utd, Tottenham or Arsenal first choice sides. Thats where we should be aiming - top 5. At that level he is lacking. I think you are wrong. Liverpool - Totally, nothing down the left, Pennant down the right, he'd walk into the team. Man Utd - Fletcher gets into the team, Milner can, 1st lot, na, not after their new signings. Tottenham - Better than all their mids apart from Lennon. Arsenal - Absolutely. Inconstant the lot of them, Milner would bring a bit of stability, again with the right players around him Milner could easily become a creator. Bollocks imo.
  23. Terry according to Ranieri was always going to take over from Dessailly, they weren't going to go out and spend big on an experienced CB. He always intended to mould Terry into the new Dessailly if you like. Point taken on Carragher. What are your thoughts on the whole development thing out of interest as touched on in my post? Should we play Taylor and try and develop him? I think for CB they should be eased in. It would've been good to have Bem Haim and Sol Campbell to take the pressure off of Taylor for a year or so. I reckon we should stick with Oba and maybe Zog as well.
