Let’s welcome the depth. Maybe it’s because I haven’t seen Thiaw and Botman with our first choice wingers. But I still prefer Schar x Burn in defence. Maybe it’s the cup win. But I have a sense of some intangible element that just makes them rock solid together. Like yeh on paper Thiaw and Botman are better players. But Fabby just finds a way and Burn doesn’t lose important headers.

Think I might agree. Guehi is extremely composed. At the highest level that counts for a lot. Thiaw has a rashness that needs to be ironed out a bit. But at his best Thiaw can do nearly everything Guehi can do + a beast in the air.

It’s crazy what a difference a top manager can make on a players career. Ismaila Sarr was widely acknowledged as a talented player years ago. Was linked to Liverpool heavily for awhile. But for 2-3 years his career just stagnated. But since Glasner’s joined he’s been superb. He’s got such composure and technical ability when it comes to finishing. He took his goals yesterday superbly. I’m really happy to see him kicking on. I hope Eddie can do the same with Elanga. Elanga has very different skill set to Sarr but I’m hoping Eddie maximises what Elanga can deliver because he does have talents.

Trippier can’t play 3x games a week to high standard. This is why I was so keen for Tino to get a rest over summer. He’s so critical to the team. We are light of a fullback.

It's an excellent squad imo. With no European football they should qualify for the CL with ease. EH would have these right up there.

I do think he's taken for granted. One of our greatest ever players. Top 5 in my lifetime. Fuck it.. he might be #2.

No slightly the opposite I think. It’s averaged out to be comparable to leagues with 4 or less.

That’s always going to be a minority of games though. It should increasingly become a minority over the next 5 years of his contract. he can’t be compared to Hall. Hall was 19 and was always going to need to develop physically and mentally. You could see from his clips, he was a baller that was never in question. Elanga will develop mentally to our systems sure. But the big question is - is he good enough with his football technique fundamentals to go where we want to go? I’m hoping he’s playing below his level due to confidence but it is bad.

Aye we need another fullback. Someone that can compete with Tino and Hall. Trippier and Burn are stop gaps. Krafth too.
