no I didn't. Not such a shame then.

Awful this.. I'll say this again. I'll not blame players for chasing good money. One injury or something like this and they are done. Mwepu's 24 and has probably spent 18 years training to become and actually being a professional footballer and he doesn't even get half a career. Heartbreaking for the lad.

I hope he does. Feel like Burn has been at fault for a number of goals recently.

Captain Steak Bakes (now managing Blackpool/revising history)
The College Dropout replied to David Edgar's topic in Football
His lack of success after us doesn't affect his performance for us. He did ok points wise with Rafa's blueprint and better investment. When that stopped working, he had no clue. Whether he won promotion with WBA or did as bad as he did, that has no impact on his time with us. Likewise, what happened to Rafa at Everton or what happens to him going forward will never diminish what he did for us. -

Steve Bruce has had a good career. A more lucrative one than his talent has deserved. He was pap for us and ruined any good will he might have had with the fans. He's done as a manager at a higher level. *whispers* he wasn't the worst manager we've had in the last 20 years. -
I would love for him to become our David Silva rather than our Suarez or Coutinho. But players have their own ambitions and I wouldn't begrudge him a move to Real Madrid in 2024 or beyond as long as he's done the business for us.
-
He starts at City... at CB.

Aye. Rice and Maddison. With some injury luck that’s a team vying for top 4.

We are yet to sign a highly rated player in their prime from a PL rival. So for me JM would be an extraordinary signing and a statement. It's a sign to the likes of West Ham and Wolves. If we want your dinner, we will eat it. And a sign to the bracket above, there's another predator around.
-
I thought he could've done a better job at RW than Miggy but not for the wages quoted.
-
Rafa didn't want him. That's the beginning and ending of that. If the deal had been great for Liverpool, they would've got him but Rafa was never really interested. Rafa would've had him at LAM, tracking full-backs.

I hate this. The like of Owen & Jenas will begin bigging up their NUFC connection and I hate it. I don't like Souness much. But he has the integrity to know we consider him a villain and approach us as such. Our media ally's are Shearer, Ginola, Lee... even Dyer when he does media.
-
They need rid of Rodgers to pull away though.
-
Bruno, ASM, Isak, Wilson. Can't wait to see them all on the pitch at the same time and I just pray it clicks. If it does - we'll batter a decent team eventually.
-
No chance he gets the Wolves job. And he'll get no credit for doing a decent job. The only way is down for Wolves - league position wise.
-
I think he could keep Forest up if he took over now. It might take him 6-8 to figure it out but he'll get there. He'll weed out bad apples and have them training with the kids. I hope he takes it and succeeds. He's done in the PL at this point anyway imo. Too much negativity in the media around him.

James Maddison (now playing for Tottenham Hotspur)
The College Dropout replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
Don't see how he gets in ahead of Kulu & Richarison for the 3rd Spurs attacker spot. -
Whenever i've seen him he's either in a forward role (AM or wide or false 9). Or he's in a midfield 3 with 2 more defensively sound players where he has license to get forward.... so an AM there too. 2 out of Kovacic, Jorginho & Kante as the spine with Mount further ahead or coming off the flanks. Looking at transfermarkt he's played a lot at CM. I do think it's mostly with 2 of those lot beside. His style is different and more industrious. But I compare him to Madisson. As in probably ideal at 10 with 2 CM's behind him and an attacker ahead. But can also play off the flanks if needed or as part of a midfeld 3 where he is the most attacking.
-
Willock's biggest issue is he's not great on the ball in terms of build-up play.
-
I think the rest will have done him well. He had played practically every minute before the break. He has great instincts in the box and has the ability and willingness to get into good positions. Atm I don't have much hope he'll score mind.

Miguel Almirón (now playing for Atlanta United)
The College Dropout replied to Deuce's topic in Football
Just willingness to use it would be a starter. Glad he's scoring a few goals this season. And he has some really good attributes. I would like his replacement on the right to be left footed, pacy, high work-rate and good movement like Almiron has... but you know.... more quality. That's not easy to find. -
Less G/A in the Bundesliga than Timo Werner. Is he not a similar type of player?
-
He has legit been awful for England tbf.
-
Mason Mount had 20+ G/A last season.. will Nkunku? Isn't Nunku more a Pulisic type anyway? Is he a better player?

Jenas is a good presenter / broadcaster. He lacks credibility as a Pundit. His strength as a broadcaster has him sitting with the big boys. Jenas is one of the frontrunners to take the main MOTD presenting gig. Spineless player. I stuck up for him a lot as he had ability but the application was poor. If he had a better mindset he would have been a top class player.
