  1. I think Lukaku would be brilliant for us. But the total package would be £100m+, wages are unfeasable. We could build a team around Lukaku to get us in the CL or close. But it's such a big jump salary wise £££. Not the right profile of player.
  2. I'm sure some have bad mentalities but players mentality is not a big reason for their poor on-pitch performances. Biggest reason is hiring the Spartak Moscow DoF as their manager and the Modle manager before him. Not suitable for the job at all and ended up disastrous. The fact they did ok with Ole for so long is testament to the plyers mentality.
  3. Would he do the work off the ball? Antonio and Wood get through a lot off the ball. Not that Mitro can't make the jump. In 2 of his PL seasons his goal output has been decent.
  4. Pickford, Maguire & Shaw are all talented footballers - mismanaged at club level. England play to someone like Maguire's strengths. I stand by this especially about Manchester United. They have good players with decent to great mentalities. It's terrible coaching, management and leadership that is to blame.
  5. A lot of those players would’ve had better options. We were all in for Auba but he didn’t want to come. Most clubs have to work off second and third choices. Hopefully those days are coming to an end for us.
  6. Ba easily the best post-Shearer striker we've had
  7. We haven’t won anything in 60 - does that mean we don’t have any recent history?
  8. Chelsea build-up is so awfully slow. Major reason Lukaku has flopped. He needs a direct team.
  9. I’ve changed my perspective. If we can sign a Lodi and still fund other transfers - I would. There is no point in spending the transfer fee on him if we think we’ll need to improve in a year and we have options to pursue. we should only sign players for the CL unless we have holes in the squad eg Targett is better then no one.
  10. People compare ASM to Zaha but the level of output is on another level.
  11. He’s so easy to defend because he wants to dribble all the time
  12. Not enough ability on the ball to be a starter next season in midfield or upfront. Ball is always under his feet. like him for the squad for versatility and nobody will pay decent money for him anyway.
  13. It grinds my gears to see him amble back on the left with Salah or Díaz working so hard on the same flank. Then when he gets on the ball he’s pap.
  14. Looked class I thought. Athleticism wise he’s a C. But he worked very hard and was good when he got on the ball.
  15. The more the season progresses the more I think we’re better off getting a decent fee to upgrade the lad. If we could get 30m I would sell.
  16. 3 PL promotions. Kept 2 of them up. The clubs he's managed have been his level.
  17. Too slow and weak in the air.
  18. There are no more than a couple dozen truly great players at any time so that metric is too high. But the likes of Guardiola, Simeone, Conte, Mancini, Enrique and Ancelotti were competing at the elite end of the game as players. National caps and tournaments, won multiple leagues, cups and continental competitions. England / Britain are rarely producing good managers at all so it’s difficult to talk. Moyes Potter Howe Southgate Hodgson probably the top 5 (no order). 6-10 you’d really struggle and would want to include Big Sam as an active manager. Brucey might even make top 10 due to the promotions. Hughton certainly.
