Aye Paul Scholes he was not. But better at CM and wide than pretty much 90% of the midfielders we’ve had since. I would only have Cabaye over him. So rare to have a CM with sheer pace and dribbling skills. Catch a loose ball in midfield and we were off on the counter. A very dynamic side. We would run teams ragged. To the point a lot of teams would just sit back playing into Robert, Speed, Solano and Shearer strengths. It’s been a long time since we’ve been such an athletic team. The current team is shaping up to be extremely strong mind. The core is extremely powerful. Get som explosive attacking players and we’ll be in business.

The Managerial Merry Go Round™ - Keith Andrews appointed at Brentford

Paying for Souness is way worse than Palace paying for Pardew. Pardew left them how he found them + an FA Cup final. Souness ruined a competitive team. -

why would Carlo go to Everton? I guess Benitez came here. I reckon next summer Carlo will land a job in Milan or Paris. -

Nah Stoke want to play football. Rodgers is a more likely move. Don't see Hughes leaving unti closer to Christmas and they're in real danger though -
Aye. The fact Ryan Taylor tried to defend him for it was hilarious Ryan Taylor really enjoyed being a Newcastle United player.
-
Tough games coming up. A point next week would be a good result.
-
Keown pointing out the frail defensive unit of Liverpool - spot on. I heard he was regarded very highly when he was coaching Arsenal's defence for a season or two. Apparently, Wenger doesn't like other coaches become too influential and eventually let him go.

Think Hughes has got a few games in him yet tbh, Koeman and Bilic i wouldn't be surprised if both go before their next games. This. Will be interesting to see who they bring in though, Ancelotti, Pellegrini (and maybe Tuchel) really the only decent managers available. There are more than 6 good managers in the world. Look at Silva. Pocchetino. They are out there - just need the spotting. Koeman and Bilic aren't bad managers imo. They will keep the teams up if given the chance. If they both architected the summer spending then they do deserve to get sacked like, West Ham such an old, over the hill team. -
Someone doing ok now will drop massively. Money is on Brighton, Bournemouth (who aren't doing that well) or Huddlesfield. Just hope it's not us. The promoted sides are winning games by slim margins usually and don't look all that dangerous most of the time. Any of us could easily lose 6 on the bounce and be in trouble. With Rafa I don't see us going on long streaks of losses though. I reckon at least 1 of the West Ham, Stoke type clubs might go down.

They have less points than us. That's the issue, not the fact they can't compete with the top three Aye but they won't for long, don't get me wrong it would be a laugh if they did but i can't see it. I mean Burnley and Watford are in the same area Table means f*** all at the moment. They are 3 points off Chelsea in 4th and that's the objective, get it and it's a good season considering what's above them. I think they'll probably finish 6th but even that isn't really the larger point. The same issues have been there for all of Klopp's reign and he and whoever is in charge of recruitment haven't done anything to improve anything Klopp hasn't done anything to try and improve anything when it comes to coaching and organisation, good managers like Rafa can make average defenders look good with their system yet any defender that goes to Liverpool seems to look worse. Klopp is a good manager tbf. Much like Rafa in terms of going forward, all he is able to do within his style is buy better personnel and hope for the best. He should be able to adjust his style more than he's shown though.
-
Did Wijnaldum play?
-
He shouldn't be sacked at all. But he could be doing a better job. Hes's very specific in his requirements and asks a lot from his players, without trying to limit their weakneses.
-
Despite dropping Lukaku, Otamendi & Salah, I should be in for a decent week. 0 points for Captain Sterling. With Harry Kane vice-captain and most others in my league not going for him, I should be ok.
-
Not defending Lovren like, He's pap. Klopp knows he's pap but continues to play him and have the team play as if he is not. Liverpool setup defensively like Real Madrid and they don't have the defenders for it.
-
Liverpool could've signed another defender. If it's all Dejan Lovren's fault. They sold one for almost £30m could've brought in another.
-
Matip and Lovren were at fault for the Joselu fluke goal.
-
The goal we scored against them indicates systemic issues in defence, a number of goals conceded at set-pieces. All breeds a lack of confidence in a defence. Sure Lovren isn't good enough but ultimately the buck stops with Klopp and his recruitment.
-
It's different players almost every week though.
-
Number one cause of Liverpool's defence woe is the manager. Lovren's not a terrible player but he's a shell of himself. No confidence in what he's doing.
-
Liverpool have invested too much in this style of play to get Rafa in now I hope.
-
Aye Firminho doesn't have much fret. Difficult to find a striker with great all-round game and gets goals.
-
Who played the free hit and took out Otamendi for Valencia and Salah for Sterling........ me! Also took out Lukaku for Jesus ffs.
-
He's developed into such a great all round centre forward mind. Would be amazed if either Real or Barca aren't in for him in the next year. Aye. His link up has been beautiful. If he had some pace... He's deceptively quick IMO Quick in the mind. But in a straight leg race he's not the quickest at all.
-
Milner's legs have gone. Left for dead.
