I was there, New Years Day with a Lunchtime KO. I got picked up at 8AM having not been to bed.

I had a Wagon Wheel at my first game as well, was in the East Stand with my uncle and my cousin. I seem to recall getting a tube of orange flavoured boiled sweets as well. Alan Kennedy scored early in the game in a 1-0 win over Boro and i remember being mesmorised by people climbing the floodlight pylons. The only thing i remember about the actual game is the goal and can still picture it now in my mind.

The stadium pre 2000 held just over 36,500. Then they added 15,500 extra seats with the introduction of level 7 but around 1,500 of those seats were in level 4 of the North West corner (under the sky boxes) meaning that the lower bowl of the stadium holds around 38k and level 7 holds approx 14k. Looks like around 33k sold so far. Hopefully we can shift another 10k in the next 3 days. They also added seats at the back of the existing Milburn stand behind the platinum club not just in the corner. I'd hazard a guess that the lower bowl when full holds close to 40K

Comfortably sold more for this game at this stage than any of the other Europa games. Will surely at least pack the lower bowl. Lad who sits in front of me with his lass said he couldn't get 2 seats together in the bar sections of the milburn stand so is in the sports bar bit of the leazes end. When i bought mine the stand looked empty but looking now it's sold out and a lot of the other areas of the ground are well populated too. Unless they open the upper tier in the next day or so we won't see more than 40K though but it should be close to that.
