That ref was the biggest homer I've ever seen. Gave Brasil a dodgy pen, wrongly disallowed a Croatia goal and gave them nowt all night. Croatia desperately unlucky to lose that game and played very well.

He didn't just do the hand in the air. He ran to the corner where the Blackburn fans were punching the air and shouting and screaming. He'd been out injured for yonks mind and had come on as sub and i'm 99% sure it was first time he'd played at SJP in a first team game for anyone.

I'd play Barkly in the Italy Game like but Hodgson is giving them all a game in Miami to acclimatise. It's Sturridge who I think isn't good enough, put him on his right foot and he's hopeless.

I prefer Welbeck to Sturridge at this level mind. Sturridge is very heavily left footed and Welbeck always seems to deliver for England in big games.

2 straps is the modern way man. As I'm always late it's better to double strap as you can walk faster than if you're holding one of them. Aye, I agree in that sense. However, for the real, laid-back, cool look. One strap is the way to go. You can't single strap when you're on a skate board either. Practicality isn't cool man. It's rigid, sensible and boring... What works for Sheldon Cooper and Leonard Hofstader works for me!!

Depends what you mean by recent. If the normal definition - none. 10 years? 20 years? Around 30 and I can think of a decent number of names. By decent I mean 2 more. Troisi is a Socceroo, Tim Krul. Milner was 18 when he signed for us (not really a youth player). Other than that, Pattison was in the Provisional Squad for 2010. Did Troisi play in a WC? Was he in a squad? Tim Krul really barely counts. He didn't come through the academy. He spent a single year there. I'm proud of him too tbh. James Milner was never a part of the youth set-up. Shola Ameobi is the only Newcastle player in over 20 years (that I can think of) to have properly come through our Youth Academy and go on to a World Cup finals. Triosi is in this years squad.

I wear 2 straps.

I repeat, we need numbers to bolster the squad depth, players who can do a job in a variety of positions. I want to see some good big name signings as well, but we need a lot of cover as the reserves we have are poor.

The times I've seen him he looks a decent premier league player. Just because he isn't called Jacques Colbaccio and is signing from Napoli or Lyon doesn't mean he won't be a decent signing for us. We don't just need a good first 11, we are desperately short of depth as well.

I think he's a good player personally, decent signing.
