This does have the makings of our best closed season we've had for years, we just need shepherd to get his act together and do what's best for the club while he still makes a fortune, that way we all come out as winners and the manager can start spending his expanded transfer kitty. To be fair though their is so much quality even on frees that there should be no excuses.

Correction, a fat Aussie w*** who scored 19 goals in 37 games last season (that's more goals than any of our strikers). Probably got several assists too. His overall play is great. Sure he is not the fastest or youngest but he is an experienced goal scoring striker.

From what was reported he didn't choose Chelsea over us, the offer was withdrawn by us when we sacked GR, and the offer was not pushed or confirmed to still be on the table when SA came in or the time in between. It was the end of the season, what was his rush? Well Chelsea came in and nothing else took his fancy, i think if GR had still been here he'd be playing for us next season, he seemed quite desperate to sign away from Reading, probably because before this season he was a know one and now he's been offered money that will sort him out for the rest of his life! To be fair he has chosen the easy ride with the highest chance of success.
