We can sign Wissa, Jackson and DCL.
-
Gallagher would be a great signing. As would Paqueta. Can’t see either unfortunately. And Hojlund, behave.
-
We’d have beaten loads of clubs to transfers if we hadn’t tried to compete with bigger clubs who have more money anyway. More down to our list of targets.
-
Yep. It’ll be over for this team if we don’t make some decent signings over the next few weeks. The new CEO and DoF will need to spend the season putting together a structure for a rebuild.
-
They weren’t hijacked. It was always known those clubs were also interested in the players too. We just bounced them into action quicker than they were probably hoping for.
-
Yep. I think it’s damage limitation now. We seem to be completely clueless when it comes to CB and CM targets too, never mind missing out on strikers.
-
This is the worst window I can remember, so far. Given the context and what we needed to do. I hadn’t realised how bad things were behind the scenes. It’s been like someone who doesn’t know that much about football lazily playing Football Manager. Unless we pull our fingers out over the next 3 weeks I think it sets us back years and ruins any good work done.

Has he played enough PL games for our recruitment team to have heard of him?
-
And the Uzbek in January.
-
As well as being an obvious shift in policy, there’s literally no evidence that we’ve done any scouting for first team level players. Targets have either been from within the league or players we were after years ago. It’s mind blowing.
-
Don’t worry. Spurs are after him too now. On to Muniz and DCL we go.
-
Who did you have? Milan, Man Utd, Barca, A. Madrid, Villa? Other clubs that have been linked with him.
-
We’re currently looking at no strikers for the season tbf. See who wants to stay next summer if that happens.
-
I don’t think that’s a bad list personally. We need two strikers at this point for the season ahead and there aren’t a huge amount around. They don’t need to be our forever strikers. Three of them hit double figure PL goal tallies and we need to replace about 28 goals. We’re in this mess partly because of our ridiculously over optimistic initial targets. Honestly, if we don’t do something soon we’ll have far more to worry about this time next year than now.
-
Just like their cock riding club and the others who are happy with the PSR rules. They’ve no ambition to challenge at the top so they’re happy to protect themselves from below with the rigged rules.
-
It’s about time we stopped f**king around and started exploiting some loopholes. There’s no point complaining that clubs like Man Utd and Chelsea beat us to signings while we sit there and do nothing.
-
If we get him and Wissa, and he’s shit, we’d probably get the money back from Saudi in a years time. There really aren’t many other options now and I’d trust Wissa to score goals regardless of Jackson.
-
People need to give up on Isak staying as frustrating as that is. He can’t be trusted not to sulk through the season. Look at his up and down form in hindsight and missing the Arsenal game. I’m pretty sure Howe would prefer Jackson/Wissa now and not have that issue around in the dressing room.
-
To be fair, Ekitike and Sesko were probably a step up from Pedro, so you never know.
-
To be fair to Jackson, he’s been linked with us, Villa, Milan, A. Madrid, Man Utd and Barcelona. Ornstein mentioned that he has good numbers and is seen more favourably by clubs than fans.
-
It’ll come down to around £60m before Villa beat us to him.
-
We’ve spent £60m brought in £48m plus whatever we’re getting for Dub, so there should be plenty left. Our wage bill should be significantly reduced too.
-
£50m plus probably. And he’d probably not even start. We’ve basically got a starting 3 and need numbers. Spending £50m plus on a midfielder probably isn’t priority in this window given we need two strikers and a starting centre back.
