I don't think Ferguson cared much about keeping and developing Simpson, that's probably how we got him after Rossi.
-
I was mascot for Berwick v Newcastle in that pre season game and I got to meet him. Was amazing! Got a tour of the Newcastle dressing room before the game and went round every player shaking their hand, including Nickos. I remember being frightened of Andy Cole I was so amazed by him. haha. Must have been about 8!
-
Because the manager buys the players, picks the team, picks the tactics and motivates the team.
-
Morale must be getting low now.
-
They'll probably sell him for what they owe Watford and just give them the money. Gets rid of that debt.
-
Saw that. Its strange that I now hope most bids we make for players fail, despite us needing to bring players in.
-
We used to shop in all the decent shops, now we rake around the bins out the back of Aldi looking for scraps. A very average player who wouldnt improve our first 11 one bit. And thats saying something considering the centre of our midfield. I assume all our scouts were paid off when Keegan left or they arent aloud outside of England. The standard we now go for is pathetic. The least we could do is try and sign some exciting young players, never mind someone who would improve our first team.

He's at the heart of nearly all our periods of pressure. Thought he was brilliant tonight. Granted, the final ball isn't always great, but he puts the fear into defenders and can drag them all over the place. If we had someone with better movement up front we would gain far more from him in terms of assists. His workrate is good too. The opposition don't usually get many chances down their right, and that's because of both Enrique and Jonas working together. One of the first names on the teamsheet for me.
-
He's not awful now though, he's just been playing in Peru. I probably worded it wrong. Ive no idea how good he is now, but even if he did turn out to be awful, its not much of a risk anyway.
-
He might be awful now, but its not much of a risk unless he's coming in instead of someone else. He can't be any worse than fuckin Pancrate, and if he is, he won't play.
-
I await Hughton and co praising the current squad and the quality of our strikers. It will probably come at the end of the month though. We will go from needing to bring players in, to 'we only wanted to bring in players of a certain quality' and other gash excuses. We will sign nobody decent.
-
Yeah, another who could turn into a quality player. Suppose its a gamble at the moment, but this time last year, McCarthy would have been a great signing for the future. The kind of player we could do with at the moment.
-
Its ashame we didnt go for James McCarthy when we had the chance. He will turn into a quality player.
-
With only bidding 'a million or so' for players, we might as well give up. We're even struggling to bring in shite.
-
The playing squad last year should have been good enough to keep us up, maybe appart from CM. It was the turmoil and the shitty managers that relegated us. If you look at the squads of some Premier League teams, they are utter gash.
-
The players would deserve a big celebration for what they've done without a proper manager. Don't think there will be the same enthusiasm on the terraces though, because as some say on here, the futures not very bright whilst Ashley is still here.

I agree. I hate Celtic too. Celtic and Stenny
-
Hamilton Alonso Schumacher Button Chelsea Arsenal Man Utd Man City
-
Stenny luck their way to a tie against Celtic. Horrible club. Arseholes!
-
People using the cold as an excuse. Fuckin hell! It was a pathetic crowd, and very hard to defend. I wonder how many who made the effort last night would manage to get it ticket if we got to Wembley. No doubt all the season ticket holders who couldnt be arsed to support their team last night would return? Most of the excuses are shit. It was a pathetic crowd for any 1st team game. We should accept it.
-
Fair enough some people can't make midweek games, but a 30'000 drop is ridiculous, FA Cup replay or not. Well done to the 15'000 to bothered tonight.
-
Terrible crowd tonight. Embarrassing.
-
Hope its not like the Leeds game in the summer where the club didnt open enough turnstyles an half the crowd of 16000 missed a load of the match.
