That was to repay the £12m he put in to balance to books from the season before though wasn't it? Which would go along with spending above our means and all that. I do agree on next season though, we won't see it in that set of accounts but we'll know for a fact that for the first time this summer the club should definitely have lots of disposable income available following the new TV deal.
-
Is there anything but a twitter claim to back this up then?
-
In that case he should talk about it, they drop him and seal their relegation fate and we come in and get him for less in the summer when they're a Ligue 2 club Nah would rather just pay the £12m or whatever and get him now obviously.
-
I can. Anything close to £20m would get him IMO. Less than 2 years on his contract? Two and a half years left.
-
Don't think so, but they weren't denied either (think Cabella himself was asked and didn't deny it as well?)

Swedish referee Jonas Eriksson, had a valid point, Rafael comes from the side meaning his studs ain't going into the player the same way Debuchy was. If you come like that straight onto a player the player has to either jump away (like Yacub) or break his leg. Rafael was actually before the player. For me both are red card every day, but I do see why some referees might interpret it that way. Fair enough its arguable that Debuchy's is even more dangerous, but I don't agree with that ref that there's any room to interpret that tackle as a yellow, as you say by the rules of the game its a red every time. Not that it matters, I know you aren't defending the tackle.
-
From the front or side you'll still break someones leg if you make contact, no difference at all. Its dangerous, studs up, two feet and off the floor, a red in every single way.
-
How the fuck is that not a red?

Hate that little googly eyed prick, had a bet on 3-0 to Chelsea at 12/1 and he turns up with his pointless consolation
-
Not really a sickening incident, but fucking disgusting behavior. Most surprising thing in the article is that he's 26 though, thought he was much older

Pretty much. Think about how f---ked we'd be if Man U came in with a double bid for him and Tiote of around 40m.... Ashley would snap their hands off and they would transform Man U's season... Oh, wait....the move would transform ours too...but 'every player has his prices...innit..??' Ashley and co obviously lack ambition, no doubt. But this kind of wallowing is just fucking irritating. We've shown that we don't snap peoples hands off when they bid for our players. When we have accepted bids for players we don't have to sell (Carroll for instance) we've gotten a ridiculous price and used that money to improve. Wish they'd show more ambition in bringing players in, but I'm not too worried about us snapping anyones hands off for our players.
-
Same here. And when the board and manager are basically telling everyone that we're not a big club constantly then it's hardly surprising that people say we're not a big club. This - the club probably now have a reputation for bidding ridiculous offers for players so its hardly surprising that other clubs view us as small fry and cheap-skates...all the people running the club have fostered that image by everything they say and in addition, you never know what the French players already here have said about the club's training methods/coaching in past seasons... People have said we're not a big club for god knows how long, even back when we were challenging for the league, it'll always happen unless we consistently win things. Paying big fees for players won't change that unless they're the kind of players that get us success on the pitch. The idea that there's some kind of "big club" success in buying lots of players for big fees ala Shepherd is bollocks IMO. I mean I think we should go out and improve our squad obviously. Spend whatever money we bring in to push us forward, but not so people will say "Look at what a big club Newcastle are for paying X amount for a player", but because it might get us closer to actually achieving something again.
-
He'd be great at a club more suited to him though, like Real Madrid or Inter Milan
-
Well Rolland, I'd rather live in Eden than Newcastle, but just like Montpellier HSC I've never heard of Eden Utd either so fuck you dick head. P.S. Sounds like a man who's annoyed at losing his best player, so that's encouraging.
-
What do you mean by that? I think he's saying that when a club hits a rough patch the fact that the complaints are roughly the same as other clubs in said rough patch are broadly the same never cease to amaze. Yet we see those complaints even when things are going well NOTE, not having a go at people complaining, just saying Pardew isn't just any other useless manager, he's special.

Gillespie ages ago, it is pretty rare.

You have to consider what each player can add to our general play as well. Cisse is a pure goal scorer who isnt scoring. Where as AFAIK De Jong tends to be much more involved in the team. I haven't seen much of De Jong so I'm not sure, but its worth considering.
-
How many times this season? EDIT: Was involved earlier in the season but out of the last 18 games he's been on the bench once and started none. Ridiculous really as he's always looked a good little player to me, but unfortunately I can't see him getting in the side again under Pardew. Replace him with a good player Pardew thinks is worthy of being involved and you've improved the squad IMO.
-
I'd hope Gutierrez or Obertan wouldn't be replacing those two if they got injured, we have better who should already be involved more. Also there's no chance at all of Marveaux ever getting near the side (when was the last time he even made the bench?). Have a think for a minute mate and consider whether I was saying a squad isn't necessary. My point was them going wouldn't require their replacement anymore than them staying, we already need more players now, mostly because those three don't (or in Guti's case didn't) contribute anything. I was emphasising how useless I think they are (or in Marvs case never will be involved) not saying we don't need more players. We should be bringing in a few quality players in this window to improve the squad whether any of those three go or not. I even said "would be good because it would improve the squad no end".
-
Replacing Obertan, Marveaux and Gutierrez would be more like getting extra players really since none of them contribute anything at all. Would be good as if we "replaced" them with three better players we'd improve our squad no end. Even replacing those three with a single quality player would improve the squad

Yeah, since we sacked the fat fraud we haven't beaten a club he's managing. Pardew actually has the best record against him in that he's actually taken a couple of points off him. But its still a shit record and includes no goals for. Only one goal scored against a fat cunt side since we sacked him as well 17th January 2009 (manager Joe Kinnear) - Blackburn 3 - 0 Newcastle 10th November 2010 (manager Chris Hughton) - Newcastle 1 - 2 Blackburn 11th November 2012 (manager Alan Pardew) - Newcastle 0 - 1 West Ham 4th May 2013 (Manager Alan Pardew) - West Ham 0 - 0 Newcastle 23rd August 2013 (Manager Alan Pardew) - Newcastle 0 - 0 West Ham

http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-united-rule-out-move-6510098 How on earth are QPR likely to be able to pay his wages? They're already bleeding money and looking at huge fines for doing so.
-
,,,apart from twice - and look what happened then.... No way would Negredo have scored that goal had we not thrown caution to the wind in a desperate last try for an equaliser.

Serious question - so far do you think he's made money out of owning the club? And if so how? He's getting millions of pounds' worth of worldwide exposure for his main interest (which coincidentally has increased in value by over 700% since he bought NUFC) via probably the world's most popular sporting event, for free. Just that. I just can't see that his ownership of us has had much to do with the growth of SD. If you look at the Sports Direct annual report you can see that he has virtually bought the entire UK market which accounts for more than 90% of their business. They basically own the UK market as a result of buying up the major brands and elimating the competition. The profit they made from international business was only about £11 million (total SD profits were about £290 million). To put it in perspective the SD international profit in 2013 was about 5% of what he has currently invested in us. Their international business is peanuts (relatively) and fwiw so far none of it comes from the Far East. Makes you wonder why he does it then. Just for a laugh perhaps. That is certainly possible. A "vanity project" was always one of the contenders. The best scenario for us is that at some point soon he does actually decide to launch Sports Direct on the Far Eastern market and does decide to use us to help him. I'm sorry but if that is the case - the man actively and deliberately damaging the club's prospects for no reason other than to massage his own ego (this is surely even worse than using it to further Sports Direct) - then it only makes your continued defence of him and his actions even more staggering. was it a defence of ashley or an objective appraisal ? It seems like its not good enough just to dislike Ashley or see the mistakes you believe he's made, absolutely everything has to be negative or you're part of his defence league. I'm not trying to have a go at anyone, but it does feel like that on here sometimes.

We quite clearly wanted Debuchy in the summer, I believe that MYM was bought because we thought Colo would be leaving. Sissoko, Gouffran and Haidara I think were panic buys when we were in the shit. Seriously doubt Haidarra was a panic buy to help us against the threat of relegation, he was one for the future. Sissoko was a panic buy in that we paid a couple of million to get him 6 months early. Not sure about Gouffran but its been said that was the same situation.
