I'd take Johnson as a backup winger on moderate wages. But he'll probably improve Sunderland I suppose.

  3. Just glad we now have mini Tiote and Anita to cover Glad that Pards decided to play them for the full 90 minutes less than 48 hours before this match, like. Confident Tiote will play though. They're both young lads, I'm sure at least one of them can play two games in three days if necessary. But yeah the fact that they did play suggests Tiote will be fit for Chelsea.

  5. Three games in seven days for Chelsea's first team, plus we've got a pretty good recent record at Stamford Bridge. They're looking good going forward, but so far they've faced Wigan and Reading so its hardly enough to judge them on. Obviously its going to be a very difficult game, but I don't think there's any reason to shit ourselves over it
  6. That's on profit they make. Some people assume that but as far as I know there's no proof that any sell on fee is on profit only. There is no proof that there is a sell on fee. Maybe not, but I think just about every source going reported a sell on fee. Some claimed on the total fee and some claimed on profit. Not sure which one's true.
  7. They should treat it as £25m really as Chelsea upped their Torres bid to cover the extra. They were only going to pay £40m until we asked for £35m for Carroll didnt they? You're joking yeah?

    Papiss Cissé

If he scores 20+ this season I can see us laughing at a bid of £20m.

  12. If we don't sign another striker now and Cisse and Ba go to the ACON in January then we've got a transfer window at the same time to sign a backup. But if we don't sign a right back now Danny fucking Simpson plays there for at least the first 5 months of the season.. Right backs a much bigger priority.

Its not a terrible fee for them, but I've got a feeling it'll be seen as another steal several months from now

Nothing wrong with wanting to discuss things with Pardew first. But he is making his mouth go to the press a bit too much like.

Wanted to make the transfer from the start. (Their talking if Raiola is to blame). No, they are not. Most seem upset with the Ajax board to allow this transfer to happen as they fear it will cost them the title this year. Anita has been seen an important player for their last two titles. There is also a sense of irritation with their fallen stature, that an Ajax starter would leave them to play for a mid-table EPL team. Many Dutch fans still think all EPL teams are like Stoke. Compare it with Arsenal fans and RVP. Someone should remind them we finished 5th last year
  21. Nah I doubt they're going to loan him to a side that finished above them last season.
  22. That's one of the reasons it won't completely stop overspending. It'll only stop the more obvious examples IMO, for instance no more Man City/Chelsea's in future. The likes of Chelsea/Man City ect will still find ways to spend more than they really earn but at least they'll have limits imposed on them (right now Man City have limitless resources) while clubs that already spend close to their means won't be effected (very good for us). For smaller clubs that currently spend well above their means this could effect them most as they may find it harder to find ways around the rules, but that could be for their own good in the long run (see Rangers/Portsmouth).
  23. Financial Fair Play will make a difference as long as they really follow through with the plan, its only the extent of the difference that's up in the air. Clubs will always find a way to spend beyond their true revenues (inflating revenues with dodgy sponsorships ect) but this will at least impose some limits. For instance under the new rules there's no way something anywhere near the scale of Man City can happen again (a club with a revenue somewhere around £70m a year that managed to spend as if they're revenue was £500m a year). No idea if the Premier League will also impose their own rules, if they do they'd need to use severe points deductions as the deterrent. Because obviously fines are completely pointless.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Didnt a lot of people do it last season? Praising Raylor and Pardew and saying he was right in benching Ben Arfa after the Brighton game because he was a lazy cunt or to lesser extents obviously? Remember having plenty of discussions during the whole season about Ben Arfa with loads of people saying that he wasnt fit and so on and wouldnt be good enough and so on. I remember a few people happy to leave it to those working with him day in day out to make the call, and not fall into the camp that said Pardew didn't rate HBA, or that he actually rated Raylor more. Can't say I remember anyone, nevermind loads of people, saying that 'he wouldnt be good enough and so on'. I can't remember anyone saying he was shit, but I do remember a certain "fucking moron" in the original thread claiming that Ben Arfa was "possibly just slightly above average" and having a go at people for saying he's gifted
