That might have set him back a bit in getting match fit for the opener as well. Not sure, had a quick look and can't see any mention of it, but could be.

I'd say the team is improved, on paper anyway. Definitely once we replace the Spanish hick with someone like Pieters or Mbengue.

Marveaux saying he's fit and able to play again in response to claims he failed a medical doesn't equal him being fully match fit. We've obviously had to bring him back in slowly because he hadn't played a match for several months before joining.

Wenger just said hours ago that nobody was leaving Arsenal and when asked directly about Fabregas and Nasri directly he said they were staying. Not sure why they have him as being signed. All reports I've seen are talking about Shakter having people at Arsenal today to discuss the transfer so I can't see it being complete. Also I think a work permit application, especially for a player who hasn't played that much for Brazil, wouldn't be a trivial thing.

They haven't signed him yet, and even if they signed him today they'd never get a work permit in time for him to play against us.

You recon Stoke will pay a big fee though? Their record transfer is £8m, even Ashley's paid more than that for a player. Bendtner isn't worth much over £6m though IMO and that's taking into account the inflation that comes from buying from the Premier League.

I'd take him here, he's not better than Ba but he's better than the rest and a different kind of player to Ba as well so he could compliment him if we played two up front. I also don't see how he'd be out of our price range if he's in Stokes price range..
