How is he better? Enrique's a better left back then Zog is a winger. Its pretty hard to compare them directly obviously as they have very different jobs. I just think that Enrique is among the top few players in his position in the league, while IMO Zog isn't. I rate Cole, Evra, Clichy, Baines and Kolorov as all being better than Enrique. How many right wingers are better than N'Zogbia because I think he could get in at Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea in that position. I've always been a fan of Enrique's but the one thing that will put the top clubs off him is his lack of ability going forward, which is what they look for in their fullbacks since they spend most of their time on the front foot. Cole and Evra yes, but I don't agree with the rest (especially the likes of Clichy and Kolorov). Nani, Valencia, Nasri, Lennon are all as good or better than Zog IMO. I agree that some left backs (such as Baines) are better at going forward than Enrique, though you might consider that its easier to go forward as a left back in a top four side then it is playing for Newcastle. Still defensively he's awesome and even though he's had a good season I think that plenty of times this season he's just looked like he's uninterested and going through the motions, otherwise he'd be rated even higher. Anyway, we obviously rate both players a little differently, lets just say they're both excellent players and agree to disagree.

They're about as close to the top four as they are to being relegated for fuck sake Bunch of morons.

£6m?! We paid that for him and he's many times the player now that he was then. Of course he's replaceable BTW, but he's still a top class player and there's no way we should be selling him for such a small amount of money unless he's absolutely refusing to stay.

No chance. £85k a month perhaps. '€400,000 per month, four times his Lille salary announced on RMC' Has to be bollocks. Definitely no way we're paying him that as a basic salary, maybe thats the max he could earn including bonuses (appearance, assists, goals), I could believe that.
-
Not a chance.

Clearly could have scored if he wanted to but chose to set up Sow. In fact the ball would have gone in even if Sow hadn't touched it.

Poor bastards, relegated and now this!

Glad that Wearside got pissed and showed his true (bitter) colours. It was freaky when we had a reasonable Mackem on here. I feel much better now
-
No it hasn't it's still on the shelf, he bottled it. Boom boom. Well, what you going to do then?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/scotland/13504507.stm The league as a whole has some players that would walk into our team and that's supposed to speak to the quality of the league?

Not possible, haven't you heard that Ben Arfa has both legs on backwards and no toes now? It was one RTG and Steve Wraith says its true!!!!1111

Aye, I did say it was shit like, didn't I. Aye, I did say you did, didn't I. Just the general consensus some are portraying. Defoe has generally been a very good goalscorer for club and country, to say otherwise is mental IMO. Yeah, he's not Shearer (1 in 2) or Messi/Ronaldo/Torres/Drogba (1 in 1) but there tends to be a very small bunch of fantastic strikers and a very large bunch of mediocre strikers. Defoe is neither. Messi - Goal every 1.8 games Shearer - Goal every 1.98 games C. Ronaldo - Goal every 2 games Drogba - Goal every 2.16 games Torres - Goal every 2.37 games Defoe - Goal every 2.92 games Ameobi - Goal every 4.91 games It wasn't meant to be factually correct mate (though I was under the impression Messi and Ronaldo had just had 1:1 seasons), just that I think some people get carried away with what is a good goalscoring record these days. Yeah I know, I was agreeing with you though, just showing that he's in between the group of the very best and the shit like you said.

But you think Spuds will want £12m for him?.. I don't know what they want. Anything above 5mil and I would feel cheated, and I'm sure they'll ask for more than that. Sorry, it was someone else who said £12m. I agree we shouldn't pay much above £5m though.

The fee mentioned is 4.5m Euro's (£3.9m).
-
I know we wanted rid of him, but the fee already reflected that. No reason IMO not to do our best to get some kind of sell on clause in there, he was a young player with a lot of potential after all. Either way it looks like we don't have one.
-
We didn't. Probably not, but how do you know for certain?
-
Players of similar quality tbh. Ben Arfa's certainly a cut above in raw talent, either way its mental to say that Sessegnon looks a lot better
-
Hopefully we had a sell on clause in the deal when we sold him..
-
You don't need to spend £35m to find a prolific goal scorer though and there's no reason to believe that we aren't prepared to pay the right players £40k-£50k per week. Do you think we signed Ben Arfa on less than £40k a week?, or that Tiote's new deal is less than £40k?
-
"Sessegnon looks a lot better then Ben Arfa before his injury" Clinically insane!
