  1. So Ben Arfa will now not be back but Alan fucking Smith has made a shock recovery! Why does god hate us??
  2. I dont see why its hard to believe. Even if you believe the whole "Ashley will sell anyone for profit" theory even he will realise that Enrique on a long contract will bring in a much higher fee than Enrique on a one year contract. No matter what his motivation is he'll want him on a new deal.
  3. I'm going to go with the theory that he can't remember past the last several years, the senile old toad, probably because I hate the fucker though
  4. Fair enough they did finish 3rd in 99, so they challenged for the Premier League once prior to 2003.
  5. For almost a decade yes, but nowhere near 17-18 years. Over the last 8 years since Abramovich came in Chelsea have been one of Man Utd's biggest title rivals, but prior to that they didn't challenge for the title once. Lets hope its just Ferguson going senile
  6. Ferguson reckons that Chelsea and Arsenal have always been Man Utd's biggest title rivals over the last 17 to 18 years. I knew Abramovich was rich but not rich enough to re-write history.
  7. We're safe already, but a win would make it a certainty, and IMO we'll get it.

Its not just about finding someone who'll take him though, its also a case of convincing him to leave, which seems to have been a bit of a problem in the past. To be fair his goal return hasn't been bad this season, but 4th choice is still as close to the first team as he should ever get going forward (unless we're playing Sunderland, when he should be first choice ).
  9. Didn't say we should, but if we do it won't be for that kind of fee. The club clearly know what a good player they have on their hands and it would take a massive offer to get him IMO.
  10. Based on what? There's absolutely no way we're going to sell a player who's been as good as he has for that kind of fee.
  11. and we've only won 2 of them, i think? We've won 3 (obviously we're talking league not cup).
  12. While we need to improve we also need depth. Personally I dont think Larsson is any better than Barton but he's a better option than Ryan Taylor. Elmander is another one we should be looking to bring in - not an out and out goalscorer but a classy player who is better than what we have. Isn't Elmander leaving because he wants more money? He'll not get it here. Nee idea. I don't actually know anything about what's going on in the world of football, I just come on here and use the odd big word and make it sound like I know what I'm talking about. Rejected a one-year contract extension at £50k per week if the rags are to be believed. It could be an issue of a signing on fee rather then wages.
  13. For what fee? Seems likely he'd have some kind of idea of the fee if he knows what's been agreed and even what teams haven't shown interest.
  14. He was praised for not sticking his leg out and giving Rooney the chance to go over He did stick his leg out. He didn't make contact with Rooney, so it wasn't a foul, but he was lucky not to be sent off?
  15. Rooney was leading the line for Manure and England at 18, if he's good enough he's old enough.
  16. A lot of people thought the same when we got linked with Ben Arfa.
  17. With financial fair play regulations coming in a couple of years they may not be able to buy their way in unless they do it this year.
  18. Yeah Champions League may have been attainable for them if they'd put in some effort earlier, and as much as I dislike them I'd have preferred them in their rather then Man City. Now Liverpool probably won't even have the Europa League next year
  19. They certainly weren't aiming to win the league this year, getting back into the Champions League was their aim.
  20. No, don't think there's any reason to believe that personally.
  21. I don't think we know enough about the situation to come of those conclusions at the moment. I mean we don't even know for certain that he'll leave.
