  1. I don't mean he will replace him directly, be the same kind of player ect. I'm just trying to look at the players that have left the team and the players that will come into the team in order to try to see this obvious improvement people are talking about. Fair enough I suppose Barry hasn't gone yet though..
  2. Bouma is a better player than Shorey, but his right foot currently points in the wrong direction, hence the need for another LB. When Bouma comes back, we'll have two LBs instead of one at the club. The other obvious improvement is that we now have a right back. Mellberg did ok there defensively, but was awful coming forward. We've now got Luke Young to play there. If you can find me a single Villa fan who thinks Mellberg is a better option at right back than Luke Young, I'll eat my metaphorical hat. To be honest I don't rate Luke Young as a good right back, the lads very average IMO. Fair enough if he's better there then an ageing Mellberg though, Villa fans should certainly know more about that then I do.
  3. Don't see it personally. Sidwell is a step down from Barry and Cuellar will be at best an able replacement for Mellberg, at worst Boumsong 2.. where have they improved? Friedel looks to be the only improvement. Sidwell isn't a Barry replacement, though. Mellberg has been on a downward slope for 3 years now. He's a hero to us, but any Villa fan will tell you his best years are gone. He also played the entirety of last season at RB, so I don't see how Cuellar replaces him. Calling Cuellar Boumsong 2 is a bit harsh. He's come from the SPL and he's a foreign defender, does that mean he's shit as well? So who is Barry's replacement?, or are you saying he'll stay? Also who will Cuellar replace? As for calling Cuellar Boumsong 2, well I didn't say that at all. I said at best he could be an able replacement for Mellberg (think Mellberg before he was moved to right back) and at worst he could be Boumsong 2, as in he could flop completely.
  4. Interesting?, I don't find anything Chelsea do interesting on or off the pitch.
  5. Would say Bouma is better then Shorey and Mellberg is better then Luke Young even at right back. Can't argue Friedel is better then Carson and Cuellar should certainly be better then Zat Knight but Knight wasn't even first choice so its quite odd to even compare them.

  7. The deal was agreed in writing this time so they can't legally ask for more money.
  8. Wonder what Small Willie's excuse will be?
  9. We don't need the money so I see no reason to sell unless we're already planning on bringing in a better player..
  10. Just for the "can't be him he's a different shade" merchants: http://www.nufcpics.com/image/Obafemi-Martins_327156.jpg http://www.football.co.uk/shared/images/news/400x400_ObafemiMartinsNew.jpg Oh no, one of those must be an imposter!!1!11!
  11. Which category does Coloccini fit into then?
  12. Coloccini's a better player then Cuellar son. Plus we've signed three more, and Villa have signed?.. Sidwell? mackems.gif
  13. I suppose, but I still don't understand it, as a fan it would make me feel like s*** to mislead fellow fans, getting their hopes up for f*** all.
  14. Why bother making shit up?, don't understand why a fan would do this kind of thing to other fans

Thought they were after love as well as Smith Doubt it, they'll have 5 strikers this way, and i'm not really expecting Moyes to see Smith as a midfielder, the deal seemed to reach a dead end last sunday and their no longer intrested..just a matter of time till the press announce that he's staying.. Which five strikers are you referring to there? As far as I know they currently have only two senior strikers, Yakubu and Anichebe. Vaughan's starting to come through but I doubt he can be relied upon as a first team player yet. The likes of Jose Baxter certainly can't. Yakabu, Anichebe, Vaughan, Love, Smith Vaughan already made more than 20 apperances for the first team and is pretty much a part of it, he's much better than Smith aswell.. Ah I thought you meant they'd have 5 strikers if they only signed Wagner Love and not Smith, now I get what you mean. Still think they might want him, hope so anyway. Vaughan has made 20 appearances, however he only made 13 last year and all but one of those were only sub appearances, they might want four senior strikers.

Signing Wagner Love doesn't have to mean they won't want Smith IMO. Completely clueless article, as usual.. Bassong in our best 11? We sign two defenders, one young lad on the cheap and one experienced international for £10 million and they think the young lad on the cheap is likely to be the starter? Not to mention Faye is already ahead of him even before Coloccini.. pathetic.
  18. Its silly to say we don't have a real chance in this one IMO. Manure may be the best side over the last couple of years but the side they have fit for this one is nothing more then solid-ish.. Yes we're away, but we certainly have a chance against that team.

Smith and Faye out before we move in for replacements? I think you could be right about Faye being on his way. Is that just a hunch? Yeah. We have signed two chaps to play CB, given Taylor a new deal & we have Cacapa & Edgar to cover them 3. I also cant see Keegan putting him midfield. I like Faye I just think he is maybe one of them that will move on as there is nowhere for him to go & he will want to be a starter. He is also a player other clubs will bid for. Why would any of that mean he's not going to be a starter? The fact that Taylor's been given a new contract doesn't mean for a second that he's guaranteed to be a starter..
  20. Elano's a quality player as far as I can see, didn't he end up having to play quite a few games out of position last season? That might explain why his form tailed off quite a bit near the end.

Has he done all he can on the pitch? Sorry but I refuse to believe that the bloke is so shit he can't score a goal in 30 games.

Why?, is he ineligible to sign for Newcastle under FIFA regulation 576 or something?
