  1. Yeah I know the only reason I'm keeping an open mind on this is because I'm scared of being called a racist Get a grip Phil, did you ever consider that some of us are merely not bigoted?
  2. The yanks have a saying too - "Show me the money" not a whip round to get enough money to buy. Whats the use of that for us FFS ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? How many consortium's, be they American, Nigerian or Russian, couldn't be rather glibly described as whip rounds? And what exactly is inherently bad about it in your opinion?
  3. For an interim job, who would you bring in? Or would you stick with Hughton? The problem isn't Hughton, it's that the players look totally demoralised (and a number are absolutely shite) and I really don't see how some fucking crooked cockney wideboy is going to change that. Its the managers job to motivate the players though! If they're demoralised that's Hughton's responsibility. Also I'd say that Hughton's team selection has been one of the reasons our players have become so demoralised in the first place, far from the only reason but certainly one of them.
  4. How can it be a bad thing to get a motivator with decent tactical knowledge who's experienced in dragging clubs out of trouble in for one month while the club is sold? We'll be dead and buried 10 games into the season will we? Should rename this forum kneejerks are us.
  5. I agree, we have no idea what kind of money they have and as I say the most important thing isn't how much they have but how much they're willing to spend. I can understand being a bit wary, but lets just wait and see what happens.
  6. What's confusing me about SSN latest story on this is that they just said the Nigerians could take over in the next 48 hours in a deal expected to be around £200 million. How can they say that when the bloke brokering the deal for them has been continually talking about £400 million?
  7. Why would we be worse off when Ashley was using the clubs money to run things anyway? Ashley has about £2 billion, or had, and how much of that did he spend on us? Apart from paying off the stadium debt, which he was forced to do and added the same value to the club, he spent nowt, nothing on players. Lets say these Nigerians have only £500 million, if they then make £50 million of that available for transfers then are we worse off?, no. What we all should have learned from the whole Ashley saga is that it doesn't matter how much money you have if you're unwilling to invest it in the club, preferring instead to put £300 million on ludicrous share bets. Having said all that we're talking about a consortium of 4-5 Nigerian oil billionaires here, so I seriously doubt they have less money then Ashley.
  8. Apart from every games he's played for us you mean?
  9. When its the Spuds, who are the only team below us and who haven't beaten us in over two years it should be a surprise, the players should be very very ashamed..
  10. Dramatically improved squad though. It is improved which is indicative of how horrible it was last season.
  11. Who the fuck ever told him he could take a free kick!! He constantly waves people away as if he's fucking Ronaldinho or something!
  12. How many times will that ginger cunt give the ball away! Its fucking ridiculous that we've got someone like Butt in the team, he's completely finished!
  13. I'm not saying Nigerians will be excited about it because its Newcastle.. I'm saying they will be interested because its the Premiership. Also having 20 players spread out across the league (one of there best at Newcastle BTW) isn't really the same as a Nigerian run club to be honest.. You might be right about the politics of it and people wondering whether the money to buy us has been accrued at there expense though.
  14. Nobody I know would have any problem with Nigerians taking over, why would anyone not want them because of there nationality?.. Also I'd say people in Nigeria would certainly care about a Premiership side backed by Nigerians, surely Premiership Football is big over there?
  15. That would be the sensible way to line them up, which means it won't happen. Hughton will line us up: Given Bassong Taylor Colo N'Zogbia Geremi Butt Cacapa Duff Owen Martins
  16. The last sentence just baffles me. He couldn't care less whether the players learned from there mistakes or not?
  17. Didn't exactly say they've finance whatever he wants did they? They were pretty conservative when talking about the future, focusing on academy and being a sustainable club with reasonable success over the next 10 years. I'm sure they'll spend money, and it all looks very promising for Man City so far. But they do seem to be playing down all the talk of buying up all the best players for instant success with a money's no object policy that was claimed before they took over.
  18. Oh and One bit you didn't quote that I found interesting: "A lot has happened over the last couple of weeks, we are genuine people, and we want to develop this Club in a sustainable manner. Nothing rash is going to happen, we are not going to do crazy stuff! We will work with Garry and Mark, they call the shots and we are here to support to help build a sustainable Club" A far cry from buying every top player available no matter what the cost.
  19. Just meant the massive majority Dave you pedantic tit 95% then, happy?
  20. Its hardly going to be the case that these guys have just put in there life savings, come up short, and are now scraping around in there saving jars to find the rest though. Considering its a consortium "raising" the last £50 million or so will mean persuading the last member or two the put there stake in. The people involved will all have plenty of there own money left over to invest in whatever they want, be that other projects or more for NUFC. Probably won't happen anyway though.
