I wonder how much money we'll just shaved off the wage bill? At least £5.2 million a year I'd say.
  2. Allardyce is doing exactly the right thing. He's the manager of Newcastle United and should be the most powerful most important part of the club (well a good manager should, I didn't feel the same about Souness being the most powerful person at the club ). He shouldn't go cap in hand to any player, not if he wants to be in a position of strength. I'd love Owen to stay, but if Allardyce asks him that question and he tells him he wants to go then he should be sold immediately, it'll hurt for a while, mostly due to the loss we'll make and what could have been without Owens injuries, but in the long term it will be inconsequential.
  3. Of course not, Coppell has no responsibility at all to any club talking to Sidwell. Especially considering the fact his club won't even be involved in the transfer (sidwell will be a free agent).
  4. Your believing the paper talk though. No I'm not.
  5. £62,500 per week?!... not a good sign IMO if true. Just screams "I don't really want this job but I'll take the stupidly over the top contract if your handing it out".
  6. What you've missed is that none of those teams could afford even half his wages never mind all of them.. On the subject at hand, it amazes me all this talk that Owen owes us "fuck all" and its understandable if he leaves. Yeah in the world of no responsibilities and no morals that's true. But in the real world Owen does owe us a season fit due to how well he's been treated by this club and its fans right through his injury problems. Frankly he should be so embarrased with what's happened at Newcastle he should be raring to to prove to everyone that he was worth the money we paid for him. Obviously that doesn't mean he'll stay because the real world isn't fair. But it does mean that if he leaves its fair to label him a fucking wheasel with no respect for himself or anyone else! Oh and I don't buy this £9 million clause either. Why is it £9 million all of a sudden and not £12 million?
  7. But getting rid of your manager 2 games before the end of the season when you have Europe to play for is so much better right? At least we had nothing to play for when Freddy sacked Roeder, the season was over. This lot of muppets sacked the man who's dragged them up the table 2 games before he likely would have gotten them into Europe. Now they're looking like sliding right back down again after being beaten handily by West Ham of all teams... Such a state?.. He's left a Championship club 6th in the Premiership, Bolton fans need to get a reality check!
  8. What about Houlier as director of football and Sam as manager? Or do people think they couldn't work together? (likely I suppose since sam is such a strong character).

Brazilian Football is down to culture and climate, nothing else.
  10. Yeah, for a second there I was right back in Roeder land... Thank fuck you woke me up from that nightmare
  11. But that's just it though, its not just entertainment here. People who follow the same club there entire life often get very emotionally invested. When that club wins something it does feel like winning something yourself. Frankly its completely irrelivant to me or any other fan wether you think it should feel like that or not.
  12. No amount of team re-building will change the fact that Roeder consistently makes the worst possible tactical decisions and team selections with the players he already has. Giving Roeder time and being patient with him is akin to giving a monkey your tax returns and hoping that if your patient he'll work it out in the end! But instead he just shits on everything and then masturbates in front of you....
  13. They did win a playoff final though. That achievement must count for something........................ possibly. About as much as our Intertoto Cup win counted.. in other words not at all.
  14. No offence, but i suggest you go and get your head examined then. If Newcastle got Van Gaal as their manager, it would be an eyebrow-raising coup to say the very least. Why?, because he's at such a huge club at the moment? As for his ability as a manager, I think you and others totally overate him. Since his time at Ajax he's done f*** all. He's won a couple of league titles with Barca just after he left Ajax (lets face it, it would have been more difficult not to). Failed to even reach the world cup finals with Holland. Went back to Barca and was sacked in 6 months.. Went back to Ajax where he lasted another 6 months. Yes he's made a good start at AZ, but we'll have to wait and see if that becomes anything more then a flash in the pan. If Van Gaal was unquestionably as great as you obviously think he is then I could stomach the fact that he's such an unbelievable tosser. But I'm certainly not going to put up with absolutely hating the manager of my favourite team simply for a decent manager. So in conclusion (), no I don't need my head examined, I just don't believe he's the best thing since sliced bread. Looking at his record he's completely lost his way in recent times. Probably because he's so completely up his own arse and has been for years now.
  15. I'd throw up if that fat headed king of the hill look-alike arsehole ever became our manager!
  16. Why would we pay Roeder £1 million if he resigned?, makes no sense at all and yet more idiotic paper talk IMO.
  17. For the price McCarthy is a better signing then Berbatov

    .com on Allardyce

We're a mid table team, not a mid table club. Other then that pedantic difference in wordage I agree with your post
  19. I have to work two Saturdays a month until 4PM. So I'm all for moving some of those Saturday games to Fridays

    Bellamy to Leave Reds

So you didn't see our 2:1 win over Liverpool then?.. As for Bellamy vs Martins.. well I like Martins and have defended him in the past, but at the moment he's certainly not on the same level as Bellamy was for us. He's scored more goals, but his performances have been nowhere near as good. Bellamy consistently inspired our team when he was here (well consistently when he was fit anyway ).
  21. I thought it was well known the sort of ridiculous wage Dyer is on. What he means is its been rumoured to be £80,000 and now all of a sudden its "over £80,000". Soon it'll be £90,000, its paper talk, chinese whispers. I bet he's on no more then £65,000, if that, he was on £55,000-£60,000 before his last injury if I remember correctly. Wy on earth would we give someone with anextremely serious injury who may never play at his best again, if at all, a £30,000 pay rise? Fred may be a lot of things but he's not a complete idiot financially. To the topic at hand, I've always been a bit of a fan of Dyer when he's played, but considering his problems and his age I'd probably be happy to get our initial fee back for him.
  22. Sky Plus only costs £10 if you don't have at least two premium channels (Sky Sports 1/2, or two movies channels ect). Surely you must have at least two premium channels to be paying that kind of money.
  23. Are you really going to be one of those c***s that would say "Man UTD" or "Chelsea" ect? I'd rather stab myself in the eyes then claim to support anyone other then Newcastle. But failing that I'd simply say "since Newcastle went under I don't support any team". Appart from England maybe, if I could bare to watch Football at all.

    Houllier

Im 22 though and like you said everyone has his opinion on things so the fact that you dont agree with my opinion doesnt mean im wrong Lets bear in mind that in the past few seasons, Martin O'Neill, Sam Alladyce, Alan Curbishly and Steve Bruce have all (allegedly) turned down the Newcastle position, so it's not as if the cream of European management are clammering for the position. Given, that, who would you want that would actually take the job? I don't think its even alleged that Bruce and Curbishly turned doen the job... Bruce came out and said he'd been desperate for the job before Roeder got it.
