  1. ...The case may also impact on Glenn Roeder, the Newcastle manager, who had jumped to Emre's defence after the initial allegations against his player. He even talked of standing down as manager if it was proved that any of his squad was racist...

No, it won't.  Roeder talks s*** all the time.  I'm sure that if he actually thought people would hold him to the things that he says, he wouldn't come out with such bullshit (quite so regularly anyway) but the fact is that he doesn't.

Bang on. Or if he does think that people beliebve the incredibel s**** he comes out with, then he's an even worse judge of the fans than he is a manager.

I think more s*** comes out of your mouths than Roeder's to be fair.

I find Roeder talks very sensibly and honestly about stuff... but we all need reasons to dislike people don't we.

Fair enough, his transfer window talk is a bit irritating, but it's much more likely that he's being to told to say those things.

His assessment of matches and performances has been, for the most part, spot on in my opinion.

He's full of s****. Even more than me, i think. And thats saying something.

It depends whether, by "he's full of shit", you mean he actually talks nonsense, or really he just says things that differ from your opinion.

There are a hell of a lot of people on this board who get pissed off when people say something that differs from their opinion. He doesn't, however, mean that he talks shit.

It means, in this context, that he talks nonsense.

  2. I don't think even Freddy is that stupid tbh. He wouldn't put so much fanfare and extra money into the signing and then just let him slip away for half of the money.

Of course he is, and of course he would.

You want short-termism? Ladies and gentlemen, i give you NUFC.

  3. Classic Spanish fan action. There was also a big fuckoff bottle chucked at Ronaldinho in the Zaragoza/Barcelona second leg, not to mention the gazillion overexaggerations whenever anyone was so much as grazed by an opponent from the players themselves. The refereeing was appalling, as well.

Messi, in particular, was a proper cunt - even more so when you consider that Andres D'Allesandro is supposed to be one of his "good friends" (got him red-carded). No need for the "headbutt", though, playful or not.

It was a decent game, that aside, but by-and-large the fans in Spain are nauseating.

Some of us, of course, have a go at them for being racist, then pretend its ok for a Turk to do it.

  4. peter ramage gets so much undue s*** on here.  he's not a world beater, or a solution to our defensive problems, but he's not bad to have around the squad and is competent backup all across the back four.  The abuse he gets doesn't correlate to the preformances he's put in.

I think it does tbh. If you're making the point solely about personal abuse or something then fair enough, but he's an extremely poor player at this level. He's not what I would call competent backup for a Premiership side.

His "defending" for West Ham's second goal a few weeks ago is one of the worst fundamental errors of defending I have ever seen at this level. Would have been hilarious if it wasn't us, saying it was schoolboy stuff would be harsh on 9 year olds.

He is no worse than Shambles, but the big fella gets defender by people who still incorrectly think he had untapped pitential or something stupid.

Ramage is by no means worse than Carr, Babayaro, Bramble, or Moore.

yeah, i can see Ramage playing for the England U-21's like Bramble did

but yes, he is in the same league as Carr, Babayaro and Moore

Loads of players who are never going to be good play for the U21s.

Ramage is not worse than Bramble, as any of the shambolic performances that our c.£5m "full of potential" ex-Ipswich man has put in shows.

Bramble has proven himself to be a Championship player, just like Ramage is, and has utterly failed to meet his potential and our expectations, but for some reason he gets his leghumped off fans who still think he will get better.

for the record i think he will get better, but that's irrelevant. In terms of ability he is way ahead of Ramage, way ahead. Bramble actually has two feet for one.

But both of Brambles feet are rubbish.

He hasn't improved a jot since he came. Neither of the fuckersare Premiership class.

you really do spoil yourself with your criticism of the guy

Its genuinely felt. I hate the idea of having him on the pitch for us.

Dyer, clearly i hate as a person, and as a player i think he's pretty average, but i can see how with our current squad, we need him.

I can't see any justification for starting with Bramble, unless there are injuries to Taylor and Gooch, at which point we need to look to the opposition, then decode between Titus and Damage.

  5. -----------------Given

    Nobby----Taylor---Gooch----Huntingto

    Milner----Parker---Butt-----Zoggy

    ----------Dyer------Martins

Not ideal, certainly up front, but better than letting Le Sib amble around 15 yards behind wherever the ball is.

  9. This racism is all a very grey area to me.

Emre is essentially using words that are considered harmless in his own country. I personally cant see any real malice in what he said.

very much in agreement with you

Agreed, if he did hate black people and is a racist why is Oba his best mate/roomate?

He can't go round saying what he has been saying, but its accepted in his country and not here, he should be warned and banned/kicked out if he does it again, i hope common sense prevails here because i honestly don't think he realized just how offensive it is in this country, now he does there is no excuse.

We also need him back playing at his best ASAP!!

Day 1 - Emre in racism charge

Day 2 - Emre and balck palyer suddenly bessie mates.

Day 3 - Emre seen handing out food and drink to starving black babies in Africa and giving Nelson Mandela a back rub.

I seem to remember Emre creaming himself over the possibility of Martins coming to us in an interview he did... calling him "a nice boy".

Surprised he didn't call him a different n-word, if its so acceptable where he comes from.

  10. I would really rather ameobi.

than to spend about 4-5m on a forward, when we could purchase some defenders.

Ah, now there's a thing. If we can GUARANTEE that Owen and Martins can both play 95% of the games, then yes, keep Ameobi as reserve.

If that is unlikely, and it is, then Shola MUST be kept away frpm the first team, and be at best 4th choice, behind a new forward.

  13. He isn't in his country now. He's in thsi one, and using his own nations famous racist streak to jsutify doing it OUR shirt is a laugh.

Would it be ok for an Iraqi man to come here and start waving an AK47 around, like they can back home?

  15. They've just shown that tomorrows Times is saying that Emre's future at NUFC is in doubt after a "second racism allegation"......i thought we were up to about the 4th by now???

I even checked in case i was somehow watching an inadvertently-recorded show from Sky+!! :)

  16. Keep dreaming Lee.

    Why?

    Premierleague.com

Newcastle Reserve lost 1 in 8 games, score an average of nearly 2 goals per game (2nd behind Boro reserve), but concede a staggering average 1.5 goals per game, only better than Wigan.

Who are our regular reserve defenders? David Edgar and Paul Huntington? Who are our regular reserve striker? Andy Carroll? Actually who usually play in our reserve? Is there any website where we can follow reserve news?

All in all, I think our reserve have done decently on paper. With our injury crisis I wuold imagine that lots of our reserve players consist of youth players. In addition this is also Lee Clark first managerial job.

You are aware that the reserves league has become an absolute mockery, yes? Its no longer abotu second string players, and bringing people through. Its shite, now.

  17. Its always a risk. If we can't mitigate that risk in any other way (i.e. by signing players who won't be getting a game for their nation, like Le Sib, or Luque), then we have to insure against it. Simple as that. The FA provide part pf the wages, yes? SO we need to insire ourselves against the balance.

Its just business - different businesses have different risks to manage, this just happens to be one of the ones in football.

  18. The last game I was at him and McDermott did nothing.  Absolutely nothing.

Were you in the locker room, then? or perhaps on the bench?

You can see the bench, yes.

Maybe you think that managers shouldn't actually do anything DURING the game itself? Makes you wonder why clever people like Mourinho, Wenger and Ferguson bother even going down there, you can see better from the stand. Or even better, from home on the telly. Shame they don't have your grasp on the right way to manage a team, eh?

  19. He said he's had him watched a few times, and that Pearson had seen him a couple of times when he was at West Brom. On that basis, we got him. Genius.

What next, ignoring out terminally shite fullback situation, and instead spend £5m on a player we don't need nearly as much? Oh, hang on.......

  20. N'Zogbia i'd imagine.

Can't imagine why anyone would think Zog is our best midfielder right now. He's had one good season and has potential but that's it.

I WAS referrign to the Zog, yes. He may not have reached his full potential yet, but he has still shown that he has more than any of the others. For me, anyway.

He 'potentially' has more than the others.

Last season he was good, this season he's been s****. If that qualifies him as our best midfielder we are in more trouble than I thought.

Who do you think is our best midfielder, out of interest?

    Butt. At what he does.

    Emre. At what he does.

Neither are actually good enough for what I want from the team though.

See, i think ZOG is better at what HE does than either of those, overall. But hey, its all about opinions (even them wrong ones about Luque being good).

Aye, true enough. But he was s*** this season.  You're going by last season but that's the past.

    Its only last season, mate.

Aye, I know. But he's a young player, I expect them to lose form. Nowt against him, man but he's not our best player TODAY!!! Surely.

I think he's our most talented midfielder today, yes. Out of form, granted, but still with more talent/ability than the rest of them, who are very average really.

Can't disagree with that. But he has to do the business, not potentially do the business.

True of all of them, but he's the one i genuinely feel CAN do the business. The others are capable of doing a job in a mid table team, i think he has the talent to be so much more than that.

Or become a big pile of shite like some of the other "potentials" did. But thats negative, and i don't do negative, me.

Hopefully, now he's coming back, we can drop Duff and get the Zog back up to speed.

  21. N'Zogbia i'd imagine.
